I thought this was a quite from Gandalf at first and then I looked it up and goddammit Zelda has no buisness being this deep sounding.

Majora's Mask is a particularly deep Zelda game, if you know where to look.

And then you see the dancing zombies and forget about that.
MagicPenguin
MagicPenguin
The dancing zombies are the remnants of a long dead kingdom, loyal servants and soldiers who lost their lives in a conflict with a foreign nation, unknowing that the struggle has ended, unable to move past their and their king's regret. And so, as if their nation still thrived, they dance the day away in the service of their liege. If that's not deep, I don't know what is.

Is there nothing about this place that isn't philosophical! How about the postman goron that shares the same name with you! That's not deep is it!

I'm breaking down it's too deep.

Anything can be deep if you read too much into it. That's one of my specialties.

From a literary standpoint, Postman Goron is an example of someone who remains positive even in tough times. Someone stole your room and you're forced to sleep outside the inn? Well, at least it's nice out tonight! There's always a silver lining.

In addition, from a lore standpoint, he also paints the relationship between OoT and MM in a new light. He is Link the Goron, so it stands to reason his counterpart in OoT would also be Link the Goron, the young guy who rolls around Goron City after his people have been captured. The MM Link the Goron seems older than the OoT Link the Goron, though. This seems to be the only case where an OoT and MM pair are different ages and it's curious.

Aside from, you know, the two sisters who are different ages and kind of sort of look like Malon but aren't. Oh yeah, and Lulu, who looks like adult ruto despite the fact that Link has been sent back in time so Ruto is still a child. And Link the Goron hasn't been born yet.

It's an alternate dimension and not a dream world and I'm not in denial!

Ah, but Romani, Cremia, and Lulu DO have counterparts in OoT in child/adult Malon and adult Ruto. MM Link the Goron has no adult counterpart to take from. We COULD assume that Link the Goron's MM counterpart is the infant Goron from MM's counterpart rather than the one he shares a name with. Then MM Link the Goron would just be the counterpart of some other random Goron; nothing says counterparts have to have the same name (eg, Ingo and Gorman) Although, they have different models anyway, where other counterparts use the same models, so maybe not.

See how deep this conversation is?
