Not only that, but being the cause of her mother's death would SERIOUSLY mess some stuff up as well, since she was taught from birth that only her mom could save her, and "Mother knows best". The guilt would be absolutely UNBEARABLE on Rapunzel's end, to the point where she would never be fully fixed.
