You can't be sure they'd been roleplaying 24/7 all these 5+ years. :P

But the basic time!
The basic time they've been doing that!

If you're not GMing something, the amount of hours rarely matters unless you wrote your first reply yesterday morning. 2+ years are enough to be considered seasoned.

Well.
I don't consider myself seasoned when I can hardly go over a paragraph without writing contentless crap with replies.

Lack of material is a problem of GMs. If you do have enough to write about, but you don't go over a paragraph, you are just lazy. Laziness can be cured within a month or two if you're truly passionate about roleplaying and matching the quality of other players.

Just keep writing and don't stop. It's the only way to get experience. I'm terrible at it but I keep plugging away. One thing I try to do is watch how others structure their replies to get ideas from for mine own.

^I tried something similar(staring at others' replies) when I got stuck but I always ended up writing brief 'reports' of what my char did and thought. Guess it's just my problem.

And for jinx, yes I consider myself lazy(and I'm trying hard not to be while writing replies). Though sometimes I mindlessly type responses over a paragraph. Rarely.

Have you read StoneWolf18's post on writing? If you haven't you should, it is quite good. I believe you would find it useful to your cause.

Mmmm, that's a life saver.
