Had things published that weren't self-published. Why?

How did you start it? How did you plot it out?

I'm starting my own novel and I'm just having so much trouble...

I wrote two books when I was in 7th grade but they were horrible...bc I was in 7th grade...

Oh I'm making s**t up as I go, I have a couple of things I want to do and I'm scrambling to work out how to connect them coherently.

If you're just starting out, don't worry about the publishing end of it at all. At all. The biggest hurdle is getting that first draft done. Don't worry about making it perfect yet, either.
