That was a great suggestion but I don't know nearly enough about eastern mythology/ideology to be able to participate.

And that's ok! You can still participate! We have compiled information that is pertinent to the roleplay. It will help you build your character, plus we have an Asian or two that can further assist you! (Plus, a couple of us are avid anime/manga/K-drama/c-drama enthusiasts.)

It is very interesting but it is also intimidating. I would have to spend a few hours just to ensure that my character fit with the lore, but there is also the writing prompt I would have to do.

I understand! The prompt is just to showcase your writing ability. As for your character, if you choose, you could try for one of the royal prince/princesses. They are fully explained and might be a bit easier for you. All you would have to choose is the given name.
