The Primordial Aura ​

Introduction

This role-play will be a Medieval FANTASY Role-play with western and eastern mythological creatures. The ideology is dominantly eastern, western face claims will be allowed later on in the future. However the eastern culture, and eastern face-claims, will be the dominant aesthetic of the Role-play. The race that everyone will start of using is predominantly human. Supernatural powers will be introduced at a later time - we're a slow burning, hoping to be a long lasting role-play.

  The story takes place in a small, magical, south-eastern nation called Yōnokuni, where citizens live their lives in blissful ignorance and prosperity. There is nothing else that they want or need, for majority of the nation lives their life without struggle, but the thought to venture out to the world does linger. For, there are questions that pluck at the citizens of Yōnokuni mind; why are the Northern Mounts forbidden? What else is there besides this country? How long would it take to get the ocean's edge? What does the ocean's edge really look like?
  
  With Emperor Koizumi at the top of the world, he refuses to allow his people to venture past their own waters in order to search for land, trade, and witness the end of the world. However, it's not like other countries, if they are out there, have come to their land and made themselves known. Did they just not find them yet? Just what, exactly, is holding Emperor Koizumi back from allowing his people to have their own free will? What is it that his people are not made aware of? Does this isolated nation possess deeper and darker secrets? With his Imperial Concubine and 'loyal' subjects throwing stones at his back, the Emperor wonders if he keep his position, or would he have to rely on his wife, Empress Koizumi, to help him?

  ~ Post Development & Requirements
  
  1a | The minimum for a post is two to three paragraphs. Grammar is a must, but I don't expect you to be perfect; punctuation is a must and if you fail to punctuate properly then I will be greatly disappointed.
  
  1b | To me, detail is incredibly important. Quality over quantity. Rather than focusing on the fact that you need to write two to three paragraphs, in order for me to be satisfied, you should focus on attaching yourself to what is going on around you. From the fidget of the fingers, to how the dress moves against the ground, the fabric gliding over a small rock like water without picking up any dirt.
  
  1c | Post Frequency** I'm not a stickler for back-to-back posts because I know we're all busy, but I do want a consistency in the cycle. I want at least one to three posts made by the end of the week, or a post every two days. If you're unable to post then please communicate with k a l l i s t o regarding your availability. Lack of communication hinders the growth I expect to see within the Role-play. I will always check up with you, but I do want you to check up with me first if you feel as though it's trivial to you.
  
  ~ Character Development & Requirements
  
  2a | Unless the situation calls for it, you may not force a character to interact or behave a certain way with your character, you control your character and others will control theirs. I don't have to write any more than this because there shouldn't be an issue with this later on in the future.
  
  2b | Metagaming RP is prohibited here. In role-playing games, metagaming is an "out of character" action where a player's character makes use of knowledge that the player is aware of but that the character is not meant to be aware of; nor does the situation make sense. If you do that here you will receive three warnings before you are kicked out of the role-play in general. There is no tolerance for that here and the decision is not going to be up for debate.
  
  2c | Romance is allowed, however instant relationships are prohibited. I expect to see a great deal of
  character development and for certain one-on-one situations to be kept between the two characters themselves. The role-play does not revolve around you and your characters romance at all. It is an option, not a necessity. Focus on the plot, or take the romance back to RpN in the one-on-one forum.
  
  2d | Punishments. If you are not okay with your character being punished, physically abused, or inappropriately tampered with then this is not the Role-play for you. Everything that takes place here will be PG-13, but do expect some gore, do expect some rowdy NPC soldiers, and seeing as every character will be making a mistake, do expect death. Of course, the death of a character will be discussed beforehand, but if you're going to be attached to your character then you shouldn't be here. It hinders story and character development.

  Where will the Role-Play be held?
  If you've properly read the Side Note above then you'd know that the role-play will be taking place here. It was originally supposed to take place on Discord, but we've decided to move it to RpN.
  
  In the Characters Tab, what are these families? Don't you think I should know who they are and where can I get the Character Sheet information?
  These questions are wonderful questions! Yes, I do believe you should know who these family members are and you most definitely need a character sheet in order to join. All of the information is naturally found in the Discord Server i've created. Here's the invite! It's set to never expire until the Role-Play begins. Click on me if you wish to join! More information about these Characters will be published later on in a separate Thread. We will tag all those interested at a later date.
  
  Will this be a Multi-verse Nation Building Role-play?
  Eventually, yes, it will be. For right now I just want to keep things simple and see how other people's characters affect the plans I have in mind for the Role-play. I need to see how it all progresses in order to move forward.
  
  You placed this in a Fantasy Interest Check despite of the fact that this is a no-magic based roleplay.. And it involves Nation Building!? Why?
  The current plot involves characters who do not, will not, and probably won't ever have powers of any sort. I might change my mind, of course, but the thought is still currently being churned over through my head because powers won't necessarily be introduced until later on in the role-play. Now, I don't want to spoil anything but . . . there are other nations that exist in this world and they know all about the Ancestry of Yōnokuni; from the lore to the bloodline. It will just take a long while before these fun and interesting characters are introduced!
  
  Regarding the Nation Building.. Eventually we will put up another Interest Check pertaining to the second portion of the RP. That will be our call for more players interested in the Role-Play as they take on other major character roles.

Name

: Huang Ming Yue
Age: 17
Appearance: Ming Yue is an avid explorer, huntress, and tracker. Though she may appear small, at a height of 5’1”, she is very skilled for her age and carries herself with confidence. Because she explores the valley almost daily, she can often wears her black silky, shoulder length, hair up in a bun or pony tail. (Even though she is a tomboy of sorts, she takes pride in her hair and is sure to brush it daily. Because of her explorations, she will often be found wearing her dark leather hunting gear. This gear consists of a heavy wool cloak, a jacket, a mid-thigh length tunic, somewhat tight leggings/pants, and boots. However, when she is at home, Ming Yue will wear a simple quju as a request of her grandmother. (For reference, here is a picture.)

Familiarity with dragons: Ming Yue has always had an affinity for, and fascination of, dragons since a very young age; particularly water dragons. She would often times go down to a nearby waterfall, which fed into the lake, perch herself on a cliff at the top and observe them. On one such occasion, she slipped off the cliff, about to fall to her death; she was saved by a native dragon. Since then, she and Xiāng-Yíng have shared sister-bond like pact with the blue water dragon.
Brief History: Ming Yue comes from a family of metal workers and blacksmiths. Her family consisted of her parents, a grandmother Ching Lan, and a brother Cheng (age 10). When Ming Yue was small, about 4 years of age, her parents and elder brother died in a flood during monsoon season. Being that only Ching Lan and Ming Yue survived, her grandmother took it upon herself to raise them. As she grew, Ching Lan would regale her with tales of the olden times before bed; the age before the Great War. She loved them dearly and would always listen with a bright-eyed fascination. This interest drove Ming Yue to explore the valley, and surrounding mountains, in search of more knowledge of dragons.

Appearance: Xiāng-Yíng has blue incandescent scales covering her body with a silvery white main and hair at her legs, ears, and tail. (For reference, here is a picture.)

The role-play is still underway, and i'm mainly looking for those who are willing to contribute some more ideas as I go along working on it. I'm hoping to have it completed before the end of July too, so there's no need to rush a Character Sheet atm. However, it's always great to have it ready beforehand.

The character sheet is fine, but yes I agree - you will have to tweak it of course. I'm also not sure if I want to allow people to be able to own certain creatures atm. I'm still trying to organize the thoughts I have in mind, so the role-play isn't rushed and the like. No worries though! I'm not accepting Character Sheets yet - not until the 21st will there be slots open.

Take your time - I was inspired through Chinese and Korean Dramas. xD Not everything in the role-play will be accurate because I am combining multiple cultures. Also, if you reread my post, western characters will be allowed if you want, but only eastern characters will be apart of the main plot.
