Well in fairness different people have different standards of what constitutes sub par. there are plenty of writers on this site they just take some work to find - a lot of people tend to feel similar frustration or are too busy irl to flood the searches

True true, I'm just a hardcore writer and snob I guess I escaped the vices of aesthetic-obsessed tumblr so I wasn't expecting this to be the same, but it's human nature to like pretty things!

Gotta agree it's a lot easier to get attention with code than it is with good content. Then again, the usual view is that "fun" is more important than the quality of the writing anyway.

Definitely with you on that. I think it depends on preference and expectations (for me as an avid writer, I have expectations that may be unrealistic for this particular community) as to what you define as "fun." Ah well, I'll see what I can do with coding then
