People think of "bad" as badass because it poses a rebellion against the old "almighty good" that people wanted to go against in the wake of the relativist dominance of society

So basically evil = freedom while good = obediance? Never really thought of it that way, more the reverse, really

not so much that as the current mentality that says "morality is subjective" is basically a response to the previous way of thinking which claimed morality within a certain set of values (mostly christian values), and as society decided to step away from those, movements would employ things considered "evil" as a form of rebellion.

I don´t particularly agree with the presented views, there being different opinions has nothing to do with whether those views on morality have any grounds to stand on, but I think anyone can imagine where saying that gets me

I guess you're right. I personally don't find being rebellious particularly good and view it as more of a silly notion, yet I typically find bad characters cool more so for the colour scheme associated with them

Well, I was talking about where the whole thing comes from. Over time, it just became culturaly accepted that "dark"= "badass"
