Firearms over here you actually need a clear reason to have them, I think the main people that have them are; police, armed guard teams (the guys who field atm machines), rangers (only some), and farmers.

Over in the states we have the right to bear arms in our constitution, but there are rules. Unlike some believe we can't have automatic rifles unless you have a very special permit, and they have tabs on who buys guns so in case of suspicion the cops know who is dangerous.

Sounds interesting, I never really knew the laws in the states. I just know after Port Arthur in Tasmania our gun laws got very carefully looked at.

The Mechanist, over here they have made it some much harder to pass. First phase you have to do 25+ hours, then you do a driving test. Pass that and you have another 25+ hours and then a computer test to get my P plates meaning I'm on my license, though with some limits.

Dust Bunnies Here we have to do 48 hours of behind the wheel training, be it instructer or parent. You have to do it over a span of 6 months minimum, and then take your test. You then get your licence, and have restrictions until 18 when you have to go back and do some other things.

I heard about that law!!! I was so confused by it hahaha. Yeah, Tassie is a beautiful place. My uncle and cousins live over there, would love to visit sometime. Apparently its cold there, but honestly I find that nicer then the Western Australia heat.
