Honestly bro, haven't played 4 yet, and never use mods (something I may have to grow into, because I have always acknowledged that "mods" can make certain games so much more fun, even before the concept of gaming mods existed), but I know Bethesda games well.

I would beat the game fair and square your first time, no BS. Second time go through again. Dig deeper using the knowledge of your last file. There are secrets and alternate paths or ways to beat missions, and easter eggs you didn't find your first time through. You can also make different choices to experience other sides of the game, or to perfect a characters run, given any mistakes or regrets from your 1st file.

OR I would start a purely mod file with a character created for it, and just go haywire with mods using that file. I would make like a cheesy, stoic post-apoc wasteland badass, like Clint Eastwwod meets Duke Nukem. The world would be my playground. I would be the outlaw type, kill people on whim, take anything I want from who I want. Purposely try to break every quest and aspect of the game and bend it to my will, lol.

I found a mod that makes all the deathclaws look like Macho Man Randy Savage, so I think I'm set for life.
