Mythic Universe is a monster. That little snowball has grown into a behemoth. I have been doing the work of 10+ people for over four years now. I'm ready to do it, but have no idea where to start. If I just begin doing the principles origin stories solo, it will become a solo project and that is not the goal.
For the first time in my RP career, I have no idea how to proceed. It's killing me. I feel like I messed it up when it had it chance(s).
Enough Baby Yoda stuff. It's not even Yoda. The Madalorian takes place between Return of the Jedi and Force Awakens, and Yoda dies in Empire Strikes Back. It is a member of his species, and just about the one thing that should have never been done. It's a weak premise based on his cuteness aimed to pick up the inherent slack of the overall concept.
Hanging up my gloves. Just don't have it in me anymore. I finally found time to work on one of my Mythic projects this past Saturday. It took me several hours into the night to finish the post, and as a result it started off decent, and gradually slid downhill. I don't have it in me anymore. I think I'm focus on screen writing. Try to do something tangible with my projects instead of wasting my time on rp boards.
Bronos (Brolin's Thanos) is such a dry, bland imbecile, and I'm tired of all the unfounded hype. I'm not going to say read comics, they aren't for everyone (spoiler alert for RDJ's fan club, do not read the Infinity War comics, you will be PISSED. Ironman was killed by a minion; a footnote in that story), but I will say do some research. MCU is not a perfect representation of Marvel, it's a Disney one for the masses who could care less about comics. Marvel went bankrupt in '96 and began licensing films to reach the pockets of non-comic people. It's not at all what you think it is.
So this is neat and kinda freaky (for me). I've been working on a story concept for my super hero verse called Blackout. In this story a city in the state of New York loses power for a night. I posted about it this Thursday Loco Mofo
Last night Manhattan mysteriously lost power for about 5 hours. So freaky. I guess life imitates art.
When did we start putting RP threads inside miniature code boxes that require scrolling, and using text against background images? When did any of this become acceptable etiquette? Why did no one say "Please stop, this aesthetic is toxic and pretentious as fuck?"
Put me out to pasture, because I am truly ready for retirement.
Mythic Universe will be hosting a special story called Blackout. I decided it would be the best way to kick things off and combat the issue of instant gratification in roleplaying.
The plot focuses on a Shadow Temple invasion of Citadel City in 2013. When the power grid mysteriously goes down, an army of Shadow Temple ninjas descends upon the city. This will provide opportunities for all of your characters to show up and participate. It will be a valuable chance to break in our OCs before the real work begins.
You don't really deserve me, but I'm back anyway. Between personal life having me in a proverbial whirlwind, and lack of practice over the last 4 years, my writing has regressed into what could only be likened to literary diarrhea. Instead of structuring sentences, I just convert thoughts to paper, as if on autopilot. This has to change, so I'm getting back on the saddle again.
Or is the saddle getting on me?
I'm currently preparing the rebooted version of my superhero universe for team development. Keep an eye out if you're interested in some good, long-term hero/villain RP. Sucks that it didn't get off the ground back in 2016, long before 'The Snap', but I still plan to do my Kronos invasion, lol.
If you haven't seen the latest episode of The 100, get it done, then come see this.
Some heavy-handed comparisons were drawn between Octavia and Aragorn (Lord of The Rings) last night in my opinion. I mean they couldn't have been anymore blunt about mimicking the Aragorn death scare scenes. It was homagey when she fell over that nasty cliff into the river below. Then the horse licks her hands, wakes her up, she crawls onto him, and he heads for home. So she'll likely arrive just in time to warn Skaikru, just as Aragorn arrived just in time to warn Rohan.
I'm curious as to who will end up hosting the "Flame". People wouldn't buy Clarke, she's done too much crappy stuff, she's just at a stage in her development where they'll thrust that level of responsibility on her yet, but Octavia is that wildcard. She's the bridge between Skaikru and Treekru. I can see it happening. She's the underdog.
