Sorry I kind of dropped off for a bit.  Had to drive to the college.  I got about an hour or so before my next class, so I'm gonna post the next scene.  I'd recommend following either the Voting thread or the main story thread if you want to be kept up to date on any posts I make in the Quest Log.


But enough shameless self-promotion.  How are things with you?

Good enough I suppose, just awaiting for my ship out date come december 13th. Fixing things about the house. Running errands. Little things.

Right.  So I take it you got through basic alright?  You mentioned they were putting you through the nuclear technichian's course, how did that go?

my ship out date to BASIC is december 13th, plus when I go through the nuke program you wont be hearing me for 2 years. 2 years of cram school. 10 hours a day, 6 days a week is my future. I have to do what the civilian market does in 4 years in 2.

Yeah, that sounds like the military.  That's why I didn't enlist.  Gonna get through college, get my degree, and find myself a nice job doing who knows what.  But, I wish you the best of luck in the Navy.

I never expected much else but hey, if I stand tall underneath it all then when all is said and done I can be proud of what i've accomplished and served my country. That and I can retire somewhere in the middle of North Dakota or Washington, maybe colorado. Build a cabin in the woods. Load it with books and die alone.

True, very true.  Although I always pictured you as the type to want to die surrounded by hot supermodels.  Me, I'd want a Cajun funeral, where instead of a bunch of sad people there's music and free booze.

Aye... that sounds like one hell of a way to go, music and free booze. Though... i'd avoid the booze.

Cause it's funny.  To actually be honest, I really don't think about that stuff.  How people die is usually so far in the future that it just seems pointless to worry about.

Dark? Meh, dyings an inevitability of life. Its only natural. Im probably going to die alone and someones going to find my ancient withered dead body when I dont pay the taxes on the land Im going to own and go to find my rotting corpse. 


Dark to most but to me its simply one of the higher probabilities of my existence on how I choose to go out. 
Its either that or with explosions.... lots of explosions....

Ugh...  I hate to bring up politics but...  is it just me or are things starting to go downhill?  And I don't just mean this election, but everything.  The riots, the mass shootings, and all these people who seem to be looking for any excuse to raise hell against the government.  It's...  Well I'd be lying if I told you it didn't have me a little worried.
