Hmm the problem with well thought rps is that they tend to die, like the other ones and that is sadly the truth. So you feel that your work went to waiste. I am sure Sniper feels the same with his LoL rp that died.
Sci-fi sort of rp set in the mass effect universe, definitely could get other people interested. Unfortunately, I have almost no knowledge about anything in the mass effect universe so I dont know if I'd take part in the rp.
@Void Puppy I didn't say most RPs are well thought out. I only said people don't want them poorly thought out. However , it's more of a matter of whether they choose the extra work is worth it or not to get an RP that so well thought out. Between that and schedules , @JPTheWarrior, you can find the biggest causes why those RPs die. It's a really hard thing to keep up and the lax way some things are typically dealt with makes it hard to find consistency on key aspects of such roleplays.
One example would be VRMMORPG RPs. RPs about being stuck ina virtual reality video game. Often you will find that they are only that in name, as they tend to lack proper mechanics or restrictions, becoming just natural fantasies.
Many fandoms miss entirely the understanding of the world building and that reflects in their overall drop of union with what they were seeking, roleplaying the thing's contents.
Highschool RPs and romance RPs and several realistic RPs gravely underestimate the need for charcter arcs and true organic development.
@RatKing I would hope so, though people don't need extensive knowledge of the series or lore for this RP because it will mostly take place on the single planet. The most people would need to know would be to learn about the character they wanted and know the names of races. Everything else will be self explanatory.
@JPTheWarrior Perhaps, it's as I just told RatKing, the most that will be canon would be characters and races. Most of this will be on one made up planet doing non-canon things. So it wouldn't be that complicated.
Ps. The member limits will be about 8 players this time.
