I personally like it. I like the personality of the characters and the humor. There's not much stuff to say for me here other than that other than that I'm 7 episodes in, and I'm really enjoying it.

Buuuutttt, a search on Youtube tells me that not a lot of people feel the same way. I myself have not watched the original and don't really have an opinion regarding all that mumbo jumbo, but I do agree the animation could look better though, it does take a few points off for me.

But enough about me, how do y'all feel about this? Is it a 'betrayal to the original'? Do you feel that you could write a paragraph about SJW's and feminism and a whole lot of stuff I don't care about? Or are you just sad it's not a He-man reboot?

>tfw you realize noone will reply to a post with "SJW's and feminism" in it's body

It's pretty solid. The writing is pretty strong (Stevenson is a damn good writer if Nimona is anything to go by) and the characters are well-written. Some of the baddies are especially good and steal the scenes.

It just slips a little bit in character development and exposition. As in, there's not quite enough of either. It introduces a new character and jumps to the next by the next episode. And I'm not sure what the Evil Horde's master plan is even supposed to be at this point, if they even have one. And the art style - yeah, it's pretty flat and feels somewhat generic. It wasn't a dealbreaker for me, though, because it's still pleasant to look at.

And for some reason I fucking hate that talking horse. But otherwise, yeah, it's a good show.

Reminds me of recent cartoons I've seen lately. I'm only into the 3rd episode and it's really enjoyable. I didn't grow up watching either He-Man or She-Ra, but I think if it was too close to the original works it would be harder for younger audiences today to enjoy.

Generally, the plot so far (no spoilers please) is predictable and easy to follow like most action-based kid's animation, but there's a lot of heart to it. It definitely throws me back to early Voltron: Legendary Defender and even The Last Airbender.

Also, I'm getting a real Neverending Story vibe with the art direction for Bright Moon. Overall, it's a cute show and I'd recommend it to people who like kids' animation.

I grew up watching He-Man and She-Ra, and part of what made it so great actually was the art style, and how corny it was. I'm steering clear because it fundamentally didn't need a remake, and I'm just highkey getting tired of habitual remakes in general.

I haven't watched it, but it seems fine from afar. I'll give it props though that it took an extra step in the designs, given the originals were restricted to the same body type due to toy line recognition.

It's neat, speaking as someone with no prior familiarity with the originals. I'd say most everything about it is competent enough, and I'm hoping future seasons will be even better as the show rises from its clear growing pains.

I think it looks really cool, but I'm putting it off because apparently the fandom is worse than VLD.

I couldn't get past the second episode because god are Adora and Glimmer whiny and annoying. All they do is complain. I seriously couldn't get through it. They sound like children arguing over a toy.

I thought it was a fun little show, I’ll probably keep watching as more comes out. As previous replies mentioned, the art could use some work and the character development is pretty much non-existent. It also tends to fall into the “power of friendship” trope, where nobody really has to train or work hard to improve their powers and abilities, they just win the day by...loving..each other? Or something?

The humor was pretty good, I had fun watching. I know the range in body types, races, and the majority female cast could be called “pandering”, but I thought it was fine. It certainly didn’t bug me or bring down the story. Most who are worried about “pandering” are just people who don’t like change.

I also heard complaints because Adora doesn’t have...boobs? Like there was a lot of hate being spewed because she has a “more manly or androgynous figure”. Imagine being pissed that a teenager in a kids cartoon isn’t busty enough? Crazy to me.
