Dice A Liminal Hymn

All is well- although.

I'll be somewhat absent from about one O'clock till six to spend some time with some friends trying to play Cthulutech without raging. On that note, however- how about we start planning out party composition?

Who is interested in what Clans, and which Coils of the Dragon?

Personally, torn between a Coil of the Wyrm Mekhet... Going very much for playing up a sort of counterbalance between calm, rational logic- and fits of mad berserk violence..

Or a Coil of the Ascendant Daeva... playing up on a yearning to be able to see the sun again, to see the people she finds so fascinating in their native environment rather than merely her own.

Though- I only have access to the core book, I don't suppose there are any Coils in other books I am yet unaware of?

I've switched Clans a few times, starting with Mekhet going to Ventrue and now I think I'll go for @Grey's custom clan the Oroborous.

Always Coil of the Ascendant, though.

Mrm... I might go Voivode if I'm the Daeva, if someone else also was considering the Ascendant- honestly, I've considered all three Coils, and moved about them more than I have the Clans.

8 names have been tagged, 3 concepts other than yours have been posted, I think it's fair to say that there's going to be some overlap regardless of what you do. Follow your heart ;)

'Ello everyone.

So I'm going to be coming in as a Daeva, and I hope you'll all be a bit patient with me. I haven't played by 2nd Edition stuff before so I'm still learning (my lovely Exhaust the Beast is gone!). Looking forward to working with all of you!

I'm playing a drug dealer/thug-type turned Ghoul turned recently Embraced. Clan is still entirely open, as is the option for someone's PC to have had her as their Ghoul and/or be her sire. :)

I think my concept will remain being Nosferatu Boogeyman. Character sheet will come up shortly.

Actually, I'm pondering a few things over with my character, might make a few changes to it, but I have a couple of questions before I settle on the character.

@Grey what's the deal with Malkovian's in your game? Is it a disease or a genuine Ventrue bloodline? There's one concept I would like to re-visit/adapt to Requiem, but wanna know what's your stance on them first.

I hadn't intended for it to come up at all, so I hadn't decided.

What was the concept?

An Important Note On Fairness

Perfect balance is a myth.

NPCs will not play fair.

I am operating a combat-as-war model; if you are fighting fair you have made a huge mistake.

That said, combat will not be a focus so much as a sad inevitability.

What this group clearly needs... is a libertine Ventrue of the Mystery of the Ascendant. How else can he savor the pleasures of life if he does don't evolve beyond his undead condition?

Also totally going to be an influence monkey and string-puller. Lots of friends in Parliament, Police, Businss, etc.

Are you considering having that level of influence from character creation or is that an aspiration? Are you planning on taking said Ventrue?

I'm toying with at least one of those being Allies 5 starting off to show how he's already wormed his way into one institution of power.

Do we have to buy any Ordo Dracul related merits in the beginning, or things such as Safe Havens? Half your starting merits is a commitment. Would a 2-2-1 split in various Allies give an aspiration towards build them up?

Be committed. I put half of my merits to being BP 2! Police allies might be pretty useful, too, since it seems we have some underworld influences going on already with the drug dealer.

If I want to control something I want lots of control over it. Police would be good though to start. I can get dirt on MPs that way and start worming my way into the House of Commons perhaps.

My own character is similarly involved in the criminal underworld. What I was asking was are people putting some dots into things like Resources or Safe Havens or are they relying on the Covenant for sanctuary?

Allies 5: The Met sure is potent.

I put a dot in safe place, and I put two in a mentor with resources as one of the "skills". If it is an option, I figure she'd rely on her sire's area for safety, but since it didn't seem like it was one I went ahead and put a dot there. Others seemed to be doing the same.
