Fantasy The Nexus Project: Second Chapter

The moment he heard Eloya's voice, felt her grab his hands, he felt the pain in his body ebb away. The blonde's persuasion powers were at work no doubt. Dazed, he looked at Eloya through blurry vision. "Wha...?" He blinked. Cuts covered his body from head to toe, and he could taste copper on his tongue. "Eloya?" He asked, obviously still disoriented.

"Okay, no frying pan needed, anyways, Are you okay?" she asked letting his hands go and sitting back.

She was still to preoccupied worrying about everyone else to notice she was hurt but at the moment she didn't particularly care.

"And what the heck happened to your eye?" she asked inspecting the eye patch, she had always been tempted peek under but she wasn't exactly sure she should.

She thought against it, knowing he would more then likely slap her.

Then she inspected him in general, and he looked like hell. Now she could understand why he was screaming.

"Um... later I'll ransack Fox's bag and find something for that, and that, and that..."

Viktor looked up and turned towards Solarex's voice, "I'm hanging in here, don't you worry yet." He replied, laughing it off. "These guys are tough aren't they, but unfortunately their armor doesn't stand too much of a chance against that acid of yours..... That gives me an idea!" He spouted, suddenly dashing near Solarex. Viktor channeled his energy and said "Oh, I am so going to regret this later," as he manipulated the blood that Solarex had dripped on the ground and funneled it into his mouth. Viktor stood there quietly for a couple seconds, expressionless and not moving. Suddenly Viktor screamed out "SWEET MERCIFUL BUDDHA, THAT SHIT'S SPICY!" Viktor fanned his mouth, hoping the burning sensation would go down, but during that time he felt it spread along into his entire body. Viktor retracted his weapons back into his body, and instead formed new ones, a pair of bladed bracers connected to the armor surrounding his body. The blades bubbled and fizzed with the combines power of Viktor and Solarex. Viktor turned to Solarex, "Ready?"

"Tats, if it comes down to fighting. Please take Edda with you as you both escape. This one will keep them occupied for awhile for your safety."

Ezra said as she looked once again to make sure the two monsters were preoccupied by the Solarex and Viktor.

Athens and Sparta traded glances momentarily at Viktor's outburst. They returned their attention forward again and shook their spears slightly. Blue arcs of light danced on the shaft and head of the spear violently. Each soldier thrust the spear slightly forward and the lightning cracked from the head of the spear and shot forward in a jagged line at both Solarex and Viktor. The arcs on the spear died down for a moment after the lightning shot forward and then gained intensity once again. The metal buzzed as arcs licked the surface of their armor and reached out in small tendrils at the head.

Tats turned to Ezra when she spoke, asking him to take Edda and run if they spotted them; at first he did not want to abandon a friend...well... his only real friend he could say was a friend, but after a few seconds he nodded his head; he understood that this would be better for them. "Alright, but let's hope it doesn't come to that" the bone boy stated in return to her question.

Elsewhere in the forest...

Kendall crawled his way back into the clearing he and his companions had begun setting up camp in. The bags were still there, the campfire hadn't even been set yet, and both of his companions were gone. Fantastic.

Kendall took a deep breath and shook his hands before rushing over to grab the bags, everything had been going just dandy before those damned 'Shooting Stars' entered the fray. He turned to make a run for it when he spotted another figure lazily enter the clearing.

"Hey Ken," greeted Marina with a smug expression on her face as she eyed the bags "going through my clothes already? I always knew you were putting those big arms to good use."

Kendall just inwardly before deciding to ignore that comment entirely "Where's Zack?"

"Don't change the subject you beautiful freak of nature." Marina said with a twirl of a stretched finger "Aren't you gonna tell me which cloth is your favorite?"

"Aren't you gonna tell me why you let that blundering idiot out of your sight while I was gone?" Kendall countered with a small snarl

Marina shrugged a bit and decided to give the musclehead an answer "He just wandered off."

"Are you f---ing kidding me!?!" Kendall roared "You had one job, One g--damn job!"

"Not my kind of 'job' apparently." Marina said with a smirk before frowning at a realization "Why are you so mad? I thought you hated Zack."

"I do," Kendall said with a sigh of annoyance before walking passed her and towards the trees "its just a matter of having another meat-shield within bullet-blocking distance."

"Bullets?" Marina asked as she used her stretchy limbs to follow him "I didn't know you carried a magnum with you."

"Nexus found us," Kendall said with a roll of his eyes "those stars we saw earlier were some armored-up douchebags."

"Muscly?" Marina asked with a sly smile

"Oh yeah, I'm sure you can get a good look at their biceps when they're halfway buried in your skull." Kendall muttered as he hopped over a fallen tree "I bet you'd like it to you sick-"

Kendall stopped and held out an arm, Marina paused and looked down at him "What is it? Stopping for another afternoon flex?"

"No shut up," Kendall hissed as he strayed from their intended path a bit to investigate "do you hear that?"

"Oh I can hear a lot of things when you aren't whining." Marina said in reverence as she followed behind

Kendall took a knee in some foliage and brushed some branches out of his way before cocking an eyebrow at the scene before him.

Helldivers both and dead and alive, what he could only assume to be more experiments fighting or hiding, and low and behold Nexus's own Greek brothers themselves. This is the kind of scene you find on heavy metal albums, Kendall was half-tempted to take a picture it was so metal. But immediately after realizing neither of them had cameras, oh you best believe he got an even better idea.

"Oh my, those two Greek men are beating their spears on those two youngsters so violently." Marina pointed out with a small chuckle

"This is perfect!" Kendall said with a rare grin, once again ignoring Marina's words "With Nexus focusing on these poor walking targets we can make a break for the next town over! And then-"

As Kendall went over his escape plan, Marina casted several glances between him and the battlefield . She noted how perfectly lined up he was let another sly smile spread across her face as she dropped down and let her limbs return to normal.

"Hey Ken~"

Kendall stopped his planning with another groan of annoyance before turning around "What is it now wom-"

Marina wrapped an arm around his hooded head "Being next to a firefight is getting me pretty hot and bothered~" she said as she reached for the hook of her bra with the other arm "What are you going to do about it~?"

Kendall's gravitational shift enabled so quickly that Marina almost struggled to release him as the muscle-headed experiment noped out of that situation with the force of a thousand suns. He practically flew out of that bush, spiraling wildly towards the battle as he struggled to orient himself and slow down.

Let it be known to this day that when a screaming, pale, musclehead flies out of the ether to aid you... it wasn't because he wanted to.

Kendall practically slammed into a tree in the middle of the firefight, his body mass breaking through it before he could change his damnable gravitational pull again and send himself tumbling into some other nearby bushes with the constant thoughts of melting rubber running through his mind. Sounds of electricity and gunfire yanked him back to the current live or die situation as he got to his hands and knees.

"Okay," he thought as he surveyed his surroundings with disdain and plotted out his next course of action "First survive fight, then kill that rubber band b!-ch."

Aelin said:

Had Gabriel been in better shape, he would've snapped an insult or some other sly remark about how she shouldn't be out in the middle of the fight, but thought against it when he saw the worried look on her face in the dim light. It surprised him to say the least. "I've...I've been better." The silver haired teen murmered as he started to come back to his senses, sitting up. "Just some nasty scratches mostly." The blood dripping into his eyes and onto the ground around him said a different story, though he'd worry about it later. At her remark about his eye, Gabriel subconciously put a hand on the eye patch. She had reached her hand out, as if to touch it, but must have thought better of it because she pulled it back. "It's a long story." He said, gritting his teeth, not wanting to explain further. Although he didn't feel any pain, his body was filled with a buzzing sensation.

It was at that moment that he noticed something else, making his stomach churn uneasily. "What the...?" At bottom of his covered eye was a blinking message in red lettering. System error. Before he could ponder further, something big whizzed down the foothill into the clearing. Was it more of those soldiers, he wondered. Without even realzing it, he put himself between the large silhouette and put Eloya behind him protectively. When he realized that it wasn't going after them but the unique helldrivers instead, he relaxed a margin. Solarex and Viktor were going to get some help. Although he wondered who it was exactly, he knew that it was too dangerous for the two teens to be sitting in the middle of the fight. Looking at the blonde, Gabriel said, "Let's go hurry and get cover for a little bit." At least enough that he could address his wounds somehow. As much as he wanted to go get Fox, the man was too far away at the moment.

Solarex was confused when Viktor started to scream about how spicy her blood was to his taste. Was it really that hot? Of course, it was acid, but to her, it would just taste like plain blood. Because she was probably immune to her own acid so, she guessed it would taste spicy..... Otherwise the acid burnt through the tongue already.... She nodded when he asked her if she was ready. "I am ready for anything when it comes to anyone hurting my friends." The teen took out her blade and sliced her shoulders too. It felt good to not feel the pain, but she knew she was going to pay later. Blood trickled down her arm and dripped off her fingers and palm and fell onto the ground, creating small holes as big as the drops. Her fingers, hands, and arms were bloodied, so then if she held onto one of the Helldiver's armor or any other object, the acid would burn through as fast as it could. It was also kind of like an armor,

When the two Greeks had shot out lightning from their spears, What the.... was the only thought that had popped into her mind after that moment. She was about to throw her knife at the lightning but heard loud noises and what she thought looked like something rolling towards them, probably faster than the lightning that had been zapped from the spear. What was that?! The thing had made a loud CRASH somewhere and Solarex looked back at her opponents to find that the spear was glowing something fierce and had reached the Greeks' armor before it became a glowing curly tendril that had crawled up to their helmets. The teen stood her ground, what were they going to do?... They were planning some kind of strategy, right? A strategy they could create together. Those two had to be separated! They had to be broken apart somehow....

Mercy peered over the rock, seeing the lightning and the glowing tendril. Her eyes grew wide to such things. They were pretty, they were horribly pretty. She adored light too much. The girl lifted her hand to her arm, it hurt, quite a bit, but compared to what they must have been feeling, this gash was nothing. Though, she had no idea what Eloya was doing to help with the pain.

So Mercy stood up, she knew how to fight, she knew quite well how to fight. But she knew just as well that she shouldn't run in. She walked around the large rock and prepared for anything as a back up. She hadn't seen much of what everybody could do. They were alive, that meant they were strong. The group that brought them in was protecting them, and how much she envied that Mercy couldn't explain. She wanted to do what they were doing, to save and protect, if there was anything better to do with her life it was that.

Her eyes rolled as he shoved her behind him. At the moment Eloya would do better at most things considering Gabriel was hurt.

"You get Cover, I'm checking on Fox, he's literally just standing there and at the moment that isn't safe." she said,

gone with in half a second and sprinting over to Fox, "Snap out of it. You may have sworn revenge on me but I don't particularly care for the idea of you dying. Are you hurt?" she asked.

She wasn't going to yell at him, considering that she was basically the fastest of them all he was the most experienced and she had a feeling if she pissed him off to far she would be on the ground.

Eloya's eyes kept flashing back and forth from Solarex to Fox. Pay attention to the person your talking to, she advised herself, but she was worried her power was going to ware off soon and Solarex would be in pain and loose her advantage. At this point she'd need a good flick to pay attention.

Fox leaned against one of the rocks holding one of his deeper cuts when Eloya made her way over to him. His perception was slightly clouded from the blood loss, but he could still recognize her footsteps. Fox remained slightly in a daze after she approached, but eventually he forced out a reply. "I'm fine, just bloody." He had his attention focused on the two Greeks. "We'll need to book it as soon as those two are dispatched." He kept his voice low still. Several heavily armored figures were still patrolling about.

Ezra saw one of the heavy armored figures and her two vectors released Edda for Tats to carry. Arthur was ready to take control but Ezra needed experience as well.

"This one spots one of the armored ones nearby. They haven't seen us yet but this one believes that they are patrolling to make sure everyone either dies or to kill Fox."

Ezra whispered to Tats before her vectors clenched a rock or two.

Kendall poked his head out of the bushes, his glare scanning across the murky dark of the forest. Whoever wasn't fighting or wielding probably wasn't Nexus, this theory was soon confirmed by the lack of black armor on the nearest ones taking cover. So that meant that his current target was the two Greek brothers currently handing the bleeders their electrical judgement. Kendall wasn't too keen on stepping against the one with the machine gun, his muscles could handle bullets no doubt but sustained fire was sure to puncture something important. So that left Leonidas Skellington.

Now how to get them apart.

Well they're obviously tag-team oriented but capable on their own, so maybe they group when confronted with adversaries of high number. If that were the case, they should be able to be overwhelmed by sheer numbers.

Kendall didn't have a weapon... His fists could probably punch dents into that armor and even holes given time. But damn if it wouldn't go faster with some form of weap-

"Hey Ken!"

Kendall paused to wave off Marina "Hey, go away I'm thinking."

He turned back and continued his line of thought. If only he had a- wait a minute.

He turned around and sure enough, found Marina lying in the grass next to him with her smirk still present. Before he could even question it she rolled her eyes nonchalantly and said "Rolled in like a ball."

And like that his situation was back to crap. Not only were there no weapons, but now he was stuck with this damn slut again! He was about to throw caution to the wind and yell in rage when he suddenly thought of something, actually smiling at the thought.

"Hey," he said before turning to Marina again "your body's rubber right?"

"Well duh!" Marina said with a flash of her hand as she twisted two fingers into a little bow "How else do you think I got so flexible?"

The moment she finished talking, Kendall grabbed her in both arms and pulled her close.

"Oh my, in the middle of a fight!?!"

"Shut up" Kendall stated as he began twisting Marina limb over limb over and over again. The whole process probably would've been easier without her making those god awful moans every now and then.

He had wrapped Marina around herself over and over until she was a tightly wound ball of stretchy skin. Her arms had been twisted into a grip. Kendall had to hand it to himself, not many people would consider weaponizing their companions, but he'd used one as a human shield yesterday so there wasn't much trouble. It wouldn't pack as much of a punch as his fists, but that didn't matter as long as he could block electricity with it.

Marina's voice came out from within the ball of Kendall's crudely made Mace/Sling thing "Now Kenny, you know I'd love to bend over backwards for you at any time... but maybe-"

"Shut up and be a lightning rod." Kendall said as he rose, Marina in hand "Time to go Xerxes on these Greeks."

"I don't get it." Marina said from within the ball, confused by the odd one-liner

"And I don't care." Kendall finished before rising and beginning to swing Marina to build momentum as the two Greeks aimed their spears at the bleeders.

Of course, Kendall wasn't exactly the lightest footed individual. So he had to start swinging fast as he ran towards them to regain his element of surprise. It was just as Sparta began turning his head to spot the intrusion that Kendall released Marina.

As predicted, the Nexus Operative's shield arose quickly to block the attack. Marina slammed against the shield and bounced into the air, Kendall bringing up the rear with a leap as he brought down a fist with force. Oh thank merciful god, the attack was actually enough to force Sparta back quite a few feet as Kendall regained his footing. There it was, as Sparta grounded himself once more Kendall spotted a quite noticeable dent in that shield. He just needed to think like a gorilla and hope those bleeders were enough to distract the other one.

So just as Sparta charged up for another shot, Kendall threw himself to the side as his previous location practically blew up due to the incoming lightning.

Marina landed several feet away, the rubber girl bouncing into more shrubbery as she slowly untied herself and sat up, rubbing her eyelids a bit before stretching back up into a tree.

Solarex was taken aback by surprise as a stranger with a female human shield (?) appeared and attacked one of the Greeks before she stared in confusion and awe. Were they the thing that had rolled down through the fight before? Or did they just pop out of nowhere? They couldn't be one of the Helldivers since, the guy had tried to hurt one of them. So they were probably allies?... She watched as the female was being used as some kind of shield to ram into Sparta and the guy threw a punch that was actually strong enough to move the Greek a couple of feet. The teen was amazed. This guy was strong... Not like normal, but he had super human strength! Her gaze switched to Viktor's and she yelled for him, "Let's get the other one while he's distracted, we can't let them get together!" She said in her monotonous voice as she ran to Athens and leaped.

The teen landed herself on the Helldiver's chest and tried to cling onto him, letting her blood burn through the armor. She gripped her hands onto his shoulder armor, melting away the metal and tried to climb over to him to his back. The gun on his chest gave her a boost to the other side and she found another gun positioned nicely onto his back armor. What if she shot him with it? It would've been seriously heavy by the looks and size of this deadly thing, but she needed Viktor to help her. Solarex continued to grip onto him and moved her hands to his helmet, trying to block his vision and burn through the helmet while hoping for the best. If Athens had grabbed her arms, his armor covering himself would be getting holes by the second. "Viktor! C'mon!"

Tats nodded his head before placing a hand on Edda's shoulders, bringing her closer to him so he could just scope her up and quickly escape if they spotted them. He noticed that Ezra was grabbing a few rocks nearby and decided that rocks would probably not do so well against armored super soldiers, and so decided to do something to help even the odds. Tats ducked a little more before growing two bones out of his shoulders (Creating slits in his jacket and shirt); piercing his flesh from the inside out, very painful stuff. Theses make shift swords would be just as hard as real swords, a bit denser to give them the advantage, just as long, and in the same shape as a basic sword. After breaking them off he handed them to Ezra, "Here, these should be better then rocks" Tats stated as he handed them off to her. "Please, be careful Ezra" the boy continued, staying quiet so they could not hear them and locate them.

Edda stared at Ezra, doubt making her stomach churn. She couldn't possible take them, could she? She felt a pressure remove itself from around her, that probably being Ezra's extra arms that Edda remembered hearing about earlier. As the small girl was handed to Tats, she noticed something odd. Something seemed to be poking out of... No, growing, out of his back. They weren't skin or flesh, they were white and blade-like. Are those bones?! Edda briefly forgot about the danger in the face of this awesomeness. "Whoa..."

Athens flailed for a moment when Solarex jumped on him. His armor softened and slowly melted away at the touch of her blood. Finally, he pushed his spear into the ground and let the electric charge surrounding it transfer to the surface of his armor. He had a resistance to the electricity and bet on the fact that Solarex wouldn't. His armor had a blue glow to it with the same tendrils coming off of it.

Sparta grabbed a grenade from his spear arm and threw it at the base of the tree the rubber girl climbed in. As the device exploded and left the area in flames, he turned his attention back to the newcomer that had thrown the girl. His legs braced the ground as the skulls across his chest glowed with a dark aura. They lifted off his chest and into the air before flying at the strong one quickly. In their wake, they left a trail of dead foliage under their path.

(Alerts keep betraying me :P )

Eloya watched Fox struggle, then crouched down and grabbed his hand, "Feel no pain." she whispered. At this point her Adrenaline was wearing off, and blocking three people's pain was starting to make her tired.

The blonde then stood up and looked behind her, noticing a blue glow coming off Athen's, Is that supposed to be there? she wondered trying to figure out if she should be worried or not. Then a grenade went off and she threw her arms in front of her face and crouched down. No need to get burned again...

What was with these too, couldn't they just die already. The blonde was practically defenseless against the two.

She sighed then went to turn when she got cut, with a colorful array of curses she turned, dodging another strike from a helldiver. She wasn't in any shape to fight at the moment and took another slash with a wince, falling backwards and kicking up blindly. Then she heard a blades whine and rolled nearly screaming as knife dug down into the earth right next to her.

She assessed the Helldiver quickly, if she got a hold of his knife then she had a chance of taking him down. She charged forward, grabbing the things side and wrapping her legs around it neck and squeezing as he tried to blindly stab her. She dodged and twisted, and watched his strikes. They were going in a pattern, left, right, center, left, right, center. so she waited until he went right then jerked her head to the left and grabbed its wrist, twisting then grabbing the knife by the handle and jabbing the handle on the side of its neck.

With that he let loose a scream and jerked sending her flying off his back. Eloya let loose a scream as he charged at her, she couldn't get out of the way on time so she kicked up her legs, right as he ran into her and flipped him over.

She then flipped backwards, landing on the guys chest then slammed the knife down on its neck. Jumping back so she didn't have to look. She wasn't a wimp but watching someone die wasn't exactly her forte, especially when the death was on her own hands.

She then flopped back, wincing at the slashes on her arm. She could feel her power just slowly oozing away from the others, there pain slowly returning. No, no, no! she thought trying to keep a grasp on her powers, she couldn't hold all three of there pains but at the moment Solarex needed it the most. With a silent apology she let the Gabriel and Fox's pain loose and kept her Grasp on Solarex.

Viktor was a bit confused by the entrance of the newcomers and Solarex's subsequent charging and jumping on Athens. While Sparta was distracted by the newcomers Viktor charged at him and allowed his blades to soften a bit, he wanted to leave specks of blood wherever he hit so it would burn through and make each subsequent attack easier and easier to get through. When he was within 10 feet of Sparta, Viktor quickly began sprinting as fast as he could so he could get within range. He dropped on his side and attempted to slide tackle Sparta to the ground by hitting in the legs. Oh God I hope this works, Viktor frantically thought to himself.

Mercy lifted her hands prepared for anything as her arm bled. Once again, she still didn't know much of these enemies, and she wasn't one to just dash in...that was a bit of a lie. If she knew what they were she'd go gnashing teeth and all, but like this, she couldn't be too careful.

Then the girl ever so slightly cocked her head and knitted her eyebrows as she watched Viktor drop to his side and do...something.

It's...it's not a barrel role,
the girl thought to herself. Or is it..no that....Okay, I don't care what it is, it's funny, and we all need a good smile. I'll enjoy the show unless he gets horribly hurt.

"Oh what kind of Voodoo bullsh-t is this!?!" Kendall yelled at the oncoming skulls as he began backpedaling. For the sake of his own temper, Kendall was just going to assume they were some type of heat-seeking poison grenades. What this told him, however, almost made him overlook the shock that Sparta had other means of ranged combat.

He backpedaled into a tree, then immediately punched it. As it began to fall, Kendall grabbed hold of it and swung it towards the oncoming skulls. He watched several detonations go off as the skulls impacted with the heavy object, but one skull at the rear was able to rot the tree enough for it to break in half as it passed. No matter, Kendall had found a way to subvert these things. He ran from the stump left over from the tree, turning to find more-

And the forest was on fire...

"WHAT THE HELL!?!" Kendall roared as he sped up from the enroaching skull and distancing himself from the fight, when exactly did the Devil decide to build a fu--ing vacation home here?

Marina had leaped from the tree the moment it had caught fire, slinging herself to another tree only to find that it had also begun to ignite. Looking around, Marina noticed that Sparta's grenade had managed to cause a forest fire to brew. With a pout she traversed several more trees carefully before descending down to the ground and frowning.

"Someone should really cover all this burning wood in fluid." she said with a sigh.

As she mourned the lost wood Kendall dashed by with a floating skull following closely behind. Marina blinked a bit as she watched him weave through the trees, feigning and rolling to avoid the skull while continuously yelling profanity at the burning trees for the horrible crime of being on fire.

"Hey Kenny!" Marina called out with a wave "Need some help?"

"YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!" Kendall roared over the sounds of the flames.

Marina shrugged before picking up a small rock and taking aim. It was harder than ishould've been, Kendall was running literally everywhere, and the skull wasn't exactly slow, and the heat from the slowly building inferno was distracting. So she had to creep forward a bit and wait until Kendall managed to lure it closer before firing.

The moment the rock made contact with the skull it exploded into a small cloud of deadly gas. As it disapated, Kendall paused for a breather as Marina approached.

"How the hell'd you make that shot?" Kendall asked with a gasp for breath.

"Oh Kenny, don't you know?" Marina asked slowly with a wink "You always aim for the upper mouth when getting ready to unload."

Kendall was already walking away before she even finished.

"J-just go help someone else for the love of god." Kendall groaned as he searched for the fight, before seeing some flashes of light that stood out amongst the flames.

He began jogging back, leaving Marina behind. The stretchy girl stared after him a bit while she thought over the order. Looking in the same general direction, she noticed a glowing blue light. Marina shrugged and began walking towards it.

Ezra took the bone swords from Tats with her vectors and smiled at him before the whole forest began to ignite. She looked around at the various plants and trees catch ablaze by the fire before thinking of the others. Arthur sighed as she understood what Ezra wanted to do.

"Tats, make sure Edda stays safe while Ezra and I take care of some heavies."

She said as her two of her vectors brought the bone swords up in a x in front of her. This was going to be a bit bloody. She only 4 vectors to work with for the moment but it was better than nothing. She took a deep breath and charged at one of the heavies that had been nearby.

She swung with bone swords a few times at said heavy but all it did was cause some tears in the heavy armor. She leapt back and quickly looked at the bone swords. They were dandy and all but they couldn't do much damage and all it did was piss off the heavy. A boot to her face caused her vectors to let the swords go and she grabbed at her face. Arthur knew her nose was broken from the way it felt. She looked at the heavy with a glare in her eyes and the person laughed at her while pointing his gun at her.

(bound to get bloody)

It pissed her off to no end that someone was laughing at her pain. One vector pierced the man's head but it wasn't at a vibration to where it would cause harm. The others went to the chest area. One vector gripped the man's beating heart while the other two gripped the rib cage. She lowered her hands and smiled.

"Bye."

She said before her vectors ripped the man's brain out while ripping open the chest cavity and ripping out his beating heart from within. It killed the man but her vectors threw the brain and heart into the blaze before pushing the man backwards. She got up and spit on the man's corpse before running towards Fox, not caring for her broken nose though it would feel very painful to snap back into place.

Tats nodded his head before the whole forest ignited into flames, the boy looked around, quickly scanning the area for a path out of here. Fire, what is with fire lately? Tats mentally asked himself before Ezra launched into the fight. "Alright Edda, lets get somewhere safe" stated the boy before picking up the small girl and carrying her up and farther away from both the fire and the fighting. He found a big enough boulder in the dirt a little ways away and hid behind it, placing her down once he got there. "We should be safe here" he stated as he tried to control his breathing, that combined with using his powers had made a bit of a toll of Tats, and if his adrenaline didn't come up soon he would be in somewhat of a jam.

Snapping back into reality, Edda squealed in surprise as she was hauled off to the shelter of another boulder. The growing heat of the fire in the nearby trees felt like walls closing in on the group, eager to crush them all. It seemed hopeless, even with the help of the random newcomers who, literally, fell into the battle, and despite Solarex's and Viktor's "bloody" awesome idea. She glanced back at Ezra who looked like she was having trouble with the enemy before her... or not. A ridiculous amount of blood, not from her, but from the attacker, spilled out onto the dirt. With it came some of the enemy's innards, though the young teen could not identify them.

Edda was stunned. She never thought that a girl as timid as Ezra could do such a deed. Edda supposed it was only for survival and kept telling herself that the now dead soldier would have done much worse.
