The Ice Zone​

Another one.

The air grew colder than usual. It was another ice-type. With this, another chance was to claim a representative of these lands. There was always the chance that it would escape, but Marcus was determined to claim the creature.

"This won't hurt a bit, friend." He took aim and hurled the ball at the floating, ice creature. Once the ball left his hand, it entered the hand of the Fates.

Izuru watched Turters attempt to do something a little different than before. This failed to achieve any sort of change but Turters seemed to be having fun at least. Crouching down and feeding it a few more bits of bait. The dragonkin scratched his chin and had the little guy or girl begin some calisthenics. Taking a little toothbrush and brushing the shell until it started shining. Izuru looked on at his little reptile while it did its best to improve.

Calliope picked up the Ball and placed it in her pack. "Making real progress now, mmhhmm. Soon we can head back and see what we can learn from them, mmhhmm." She held her arm out to call Umbra back and pet his head. "You can hang with me for a bit, mmhhmm. Rest while I search, mmhhmm." She then began to wander the Volcanic region, searching for more Buddies.

The professor nodded, bending down to take the buddy balls from the small ice fox. "Yes, yes indeed. That shouldn't be a problem. Let's see..." He turned about and started his ritual of switch flipping and knob turning. The lights glowing and fading gradually. When he turned around again, he had the new buddy in his hands. He let it hover out of his hands, and glide over towards Glacier. "A fine specimen indeed! I hope you and snowbolt find more things to bond over."

As the Metal Buddy stepped, Calliope grinned behind her covering. "That's the one we need, mmhhmm." She pointed it out to Umbra and sent him skyward. "Come on little guy, won't you join our team, hhhmmm?" She pulled a Buddy Ball, tossing it at the Metal creature as it trumpeted.

"Hello again... Snowbolt!" Snowbolt gave it's typical twirl, before zooming it Glacier's face. "You have changed quite much... do you like the additional type, my friend?" The question was answered with a wide smile and vigorous nodding.

So, the two set off yet again to the ice zone, in search of more buddies to encounter!

The professor turned towards Griffin, looking at the two buddies. He nodded solemnly looking Griffin over. "Mmmhhmm. I can see you and these two have bonded together. The merging will not rob you of a friend young one. Do not worry. they will both be with you in the form of a new friend." He smiled reasuringly, before stepping up to his machines and starting up the whirring humming. When all was said and done, he handed Griffen a buddy ball. "Here you are young one. I think you'll find you and your buddy can acomplish a lot together."

Turters was not improving any more than when they started. Picking up the bucket and sitting down with it so that he could give the little turtle a break. Izuru wondered if his methods needed a bit of tweaking in order to maximize the efficiency of Turters training. Leisurely brushing Turters shell with the Professors toothbrush. He could tell his Buddy was enjoying the experience. Once Turters had the shiniest of shells. Izuru went back to the intensive training.

The throw caused the Ball to sail past the Metal Buddy and into a large mineral deposit, shattering on impact. "<Dangit!>" Calliope grabbed another Ball and readied a throw, waiting for Umbra to circle and cause the Buddy to change directions before releasing the Ball.

Calliope collected the Ball off the jagged ground and stored it with the others. "Alright, I think we can move on after our next restock, mmhhmm." He pointed farther north, sending Umbra that direction. She wanted to cover any ground she hadn't yet explored, making sure she used all her resources before heading back to the lab.

Coming across a Fire element buddy for the first time, she looked at the little monkey friend with curiosity as she readied a ball. She wasn't intending to lob a rock at it this time which might hurt her odds unintentionally but she at least wanted to just start throwing balls at something with a chance to get it.
"Welp, here goes nothing... hey, if I catch this guy then maybe I can put three of them together! Or should I be looknig for more to think what I wanna do first? I dunno, I'll think about it later, I should just keep to catching... " she spoke to herself. She was really hoping to just get lucky and start going on a great catching spree soon.

"No way, I did that one first try! I'm getting better at this! Oh, I hope the rest go as smoothly as that one!" Squink delighted as she now caught a buddy of the fire variety. She was still missing quite a few of them, that being Ice, Lightning, Light, Metal and Wind however she only knew of two of them and to her thought she didn't have much more to go. Then again, having never even set foot in the Ice zone or explored the fields she still had quite a bit to explore.

"Hmm... should I take a little look around more, or go take a chance looking elsewhere? I did kind of get what I came here for after all... well, I already have one shadowy friend and I came here to catch a fire one, so maybe I'll go back and see what I can do with my three guys! THEN, I'll go explore somewhere I haven't been yet! Oh wait, I didn't use up all my balls... " she said, having planned to return back to where she would give fusing and training a try, only to realise that she had quite a lot of capturing balls left.

"Well, maybe I can just look for one more before I head back, don't want to squander my time and feel a need to come back, right?" she asked herself with a small smile, deciding to take a quick look around longer to check for any other potential catches.

Squink wasn't very surprised at the idea that Fire buddies might be the most common encounter in the Volcanic zone, knowing that she already caught one but supposing that trying to catch one more couldn't possibly hurt. It wasn't exactly something she was thrilled to find another of though, so she remembered the little rock trick and scooped one up too. If she got it, hooray, if not then at least she could move on with her life and balls rather quickly.
"Okay, little monkey friend number two, it's up to you whether you want to come with me or stay here, I'm looking for new friends or types I particularly want, and I just got one of you" she spoke as she prepared her throw. Hopefully, she found another shadow one or something new after this guy.

The Felisian's hand rested above the Ball until it fell still, grasping it to place carefully in her pack. "Another one down, mmhhmm. We should start merging some of these for new data, mmhhmm. Or trading with others, mmhhmm." She called down Umbra, returning him to his Buddy Ball. "You've done well, mmhhmm. Get some rest, Patina and I will handle this for a bit, mmhhmm." She tossed out her Metal Buddy and scrithed its head. "Start searching, and send any you find back to me, mmhhmm." As the Buddy scurried away, she collected her pack and started to search again.

Squink fell rather surprised that the second Fire Buddy ended up being so quick and simple to catch, she wasn't even in any sort of high demand for it. Nevertheless, she smiled and took along her extra free catch contemplating whether she should take her sudden little streak of luck elsewhere or continue dumping out balls in the Volcanic zone until she felt satisfied with all that she could collect. Thinking on it, she supposed that it could be a nice change of place to go somewhere completely else she hadn't been. She loved the Shadow buddies, so wanted to try and find some particularly adorable friends that fit her tastes.

"Time to go see what the Ice zone has to offer! I suppose there'll be some Icy frost ones... maybe wind or water, or perhaps some other types I haven't seen yet? Well, I guess I like surprises in these circumstances" she spoke to herself cheerfully, heading on her merry way. She'd return back to the Professor afterwards to probably check out whatever neat little things she could do there.

Another Fire Buddy leapt from a spire, down into Calliope's path. She whistled and Patina quickly worked back toward them. "I would like you to come with me, mmhhmm." Calliope removed a Ball from her pack and tossed it as soon as Patina was in position.

The Ball went a little high and as the Fire Buddy jumped out of the way, it broke on Patina's horn, causing her to let out a small, "Fyuuu". "Oops, sorry, Patina, we haven't trained together much yet, mmhhmm. But were down to our last Ball, so time to take the risky attempt, mmhhmm." She picked up a rock and flung it toward the Fire Buddy, quickly followed by her last Buddy Ball.
