  • No, it doesn't...tis why I made a point of stating that the character's effective HD is the higher of the two. If you were a 5th level barb, and 3rd level in a prestige, your just a 5th level character for level based events. Btw, I only just noticed my failure to state that there is one extra feat for all races at first level (balance issue that pops up at around lv 7 if I dont include it)
(just noticed your message on my own profile) Taking a prestige class is pretty much totally beneficial. It starts as a standard character...1k exp to acquire (assuming you fit the prereq's and it's not a prestige that has an organization in the game world (which all have special entry tests in game...not extra requirements like feats)) and it rises just like a standard exp bar. Because of this, leveling a prestige class is quite rapid at later game...and slower during the early game. Because of the limit to the saves and attack bonus, you mostly just acquire new class features however. overall level speed hit is rather small assuming you start at around mid-game
Totally spaced in my last message. Normally they ARE taken the way you mentioned, this is a custom rule designed to keep players strength in pace with the rise in difficulty in the game (and to minimize multiclassing EXP penalties which can rise to be rather stiff in this campaign). Players will still need to meet the prerequisites for prestige classes they wish the join as per normal
To answer your question on the thread: YES, you will be presented with the opportunity to level both normal class levels (including multiclassing) and a single prestige class simultaneously (sorry for the delay btw, busy time for me repeatedly balance testing the rule-set for the campaign you applied for). Now that the thread is complete, my responses will be much faster (at least I don't think anything important is missing). In essence there are two EXP bar's at the same time and you will choose which your experience goes to (in any denomination of your choice). Yes, with proper forethought this can make significantly stronger characters...but the campaign's challenges rise rather quickly in difficulty (with a decent time in the beginning for the beginner players to learn the game). Do you mind deleting your superfluousness posts on the sign up again. Please direct further questions to my profile...or PM me
Hello~! Hope im not troubling you, but I noticed your post in the Unwanteds~ about how your chara can talk to spirits and stuff? I was wondering if your chara could be Ghost' friend? (my char is Ghost) It's totally fine if you dont wanna. I just saw a connection there ;) thanks for reading~ \(.u.)/
one more thing, can you please erase your superfluous posts on the Threads of Eternity thread? I dont want it to get too cluttered, especially considering the amount of work that will be done on it
LOVE your application picture. It's 3.5 (not pathfinder). I have nothing wrong with psion, but please note that most of the 'shades' are immune to mind affecting abilities (which many psionic abilities have as a tag). Your history does not possess the same name as the name you placed in the character section.
Please keep in mind that I am merely a Co-GM; I control very little atm and merely act upon the requests of the head GM and thread maker. Moreover, I am just arriving again after a connectivity issue. I will review your sheet tomorrow morning or late tonight (though I was not asked to) and relay that information back to you and the head GM
