Oh ok, so the reiatsu stat isn't really reiatsu, just the use of it in magic rather than using it for swording?

So if I'm getting this right, reiatsu is purely a fluff stat?

Yeah but my concern isn't that it's going to be complicated, simple stat systems are the ones that typically either fall apart and add nothing to the RP or there's a single stat that does too much and punishes everyone that doesn't focus on it.

You'd think that, but it tends to fall apart since different stats and skills can have different inherent values such as Zanjutsu/Hakuda vs Hoho/Kido which typically punishes people who want to focus on the former over the latter. Plus overpowered characters could easily be avoided by people...

I can't say I've seen a basic, non-dice based stat system actually make things better.

@Hanarei Yeah it's always kind of awkward to describe the various groups since a lot of them are genetic but they're not all the same bloodline and they come from humans and it just gets messy and weird. Anyway, are you open to Arrancars and/or Vizored? Also I really get the feeling that...

Sounds pretty good, because honestly Shikais were generally more interesting than Bankais and I'm not of fan of RPs where everyone is the superest strongest ever.

So what power level do you have in mind? Like would Shinigami characters be capable of using Shikai from the start?

A basic idea I had as a starting off point was playing a minor noble that owned a trading company that hired pirates to help create scarcity to inflate prices as a way to hopefully get enough connections started for RP purposes.
