| What is Old Universes? |

Old Universes is a roleplay that follows an unlikely group as they travel around what's left of the universe and try to discover what, exactly, happened to it. All planets are uninhabited and in ruins, but no one knows why. All remaining life is on ships.

| Rules |

The rules are the usual ones, like no god-modding or powerplaying. However, there will be different areas in this roleplay, and there will be a two character per person rule (for now), so before a post, it would be preferred that this little form below is included.

This is just to keep the roleplay rolling smoothly, especially since there is the likely possibility that different groups will have different events.

| Character Types |

These are the types of roles your characters can be.

SCAVENGER: Scavengers live off of things they find in the wasteland that has been left behind. They're street smart and either good runners or good fighters. They are not, however, book smart. They travel in small groups, and are general suspicious of other people.​
LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS: Lighthouse keepers never leave their post at the light house. They make sure its correctly functioning, enough that the beacon is able to reach ships. They survive off of the gratitude from merchants, who gain business from their location next to the light houses. They generally live alone.​
MERCHANTS: Merchants generally live on merchant ships for a short time, before taking their business to other merchant ships in small, personal pods. They trade with scavengers and other merchants, and generally are charismatic and sleezy. They either work alone or in pairs.​
PIRATES: Pirates do exactly what it sounds like they do. They take down other ships, and they take their goods for themselves. Generally, they go for scavenger ships, and generation ships and merchant ships are big hits. Light houses are avoided, due to their importance to any ship​

These are the locations that your characters can start. The Greenfly and the Thetis Sector Lighthouse will merge during their first event, while the Ilston Marketplace and the Saint Antonia will merge in their first event. Then, the two groups will meet later on, the event number of which depends on character choices.

The Greenfly [ FULL ]: The Greenfly is a medium scavenger ship with a group of four. It's weapons system is rusty, and would need some love to be functional.

CHARACTER 1

Name: CA-54 GA-32 (CAGA for short)

Age: Manufactured 50 years ago

Gender: N/A (no pronouns, just uses it)

Sexuality: N/A (though it can feel romantic attraction to anyone)

Species: Combat Robot. Small,, sleek and slender. Small turret fixated on its left shoulder, but its questionable as to whether or not it still works. Light in the center of its head that glows red, smaller lights around the side of the large one light up whenever it talks.

Role: Pirate. Has a problem with authority and taking order, so it doesn't travel with a crew unless completely necessary.

Starter Location: Saint Antonia

Weaponry: Aside from the turret it has, a small laser pistol and a worryingly rusted knife

Equipment & Supplies: As it doesn't have any places to carry cargo, it rarely does so. If it had to carry something, it'd simply carry a small silver necklace.

Appearance: The robot is a rather small being, its body doesn't have many notable features, designed specifically to have as few parts to grab as possible. Its fingers are sharp, almost looking like claws. The robot is able to fit through many small gaps, it could probably fit into a small cardboard box if it tried.

Personality: CAGA is rather cold and uncaring, it gets things done with incredible efficiency and speed but good luck trying to hold a conversation with it. If you some how did manage to talk to the robot, you wouldn't get much from it. Small talk isn't a part of its programming so whatever it knows is self taught. It is not a very good teacher.

Name: Raker

Age: 23 years of its own species, an unknown amount of human years.

Gender: Number 3 (they/them)

Sexuality: Doesn't feel attraction

Species: Raker is part of a small alien race that was rather short lived but obsessed with perfection. They used advanced technologies to artificially design their children, going on to design what they considered the perfect aesthetic being. However the technology had an unknown side effect and every one of these "perfect" children was born sterile, meaning their race would die with them. Discovering this, the parents of this wave of children grew angry at the scientists, starting riots and causing all out chaos across their home planet. Fearing for their own safety, some of the children fled the planet to wander the universe alone.

Weaponry: An ornamental sword that looks far too fancy to be actually useful

Equipment & Supplies: Raker likes to keep a lot of food on them at all times, along with a can opener, just in case. They wear an ornate golden necklace at all times, a souvenir from home

Appearance: Raker has very soft features, a tall and skinny figure who's legs look longer than they should. Their eyes mimic those of a cat and their tongue is forked. A small scaled tail hangs between their legs.

Personality: Raker is a perfectionist most of the time, something they took from their parents. If something isn't perfect, it isn't acceptable. They care a lot about other people, especially how they operate. They spend much of their time talking to others simply to find out about their techniques so they can perfect their own. They are very well spoken, knowing their way around most of the more common languages and dabbling in a few lesser known ones. The clothing they wear is always clean, they change all of it almost daily, just to be sure. Usually they wear fairly casual human clothes, but will wear suits from time to time.

Species: Transhuman (Ancient) - Transhumans were a merger of Human anatomy with bio-mechanical components, not unlike cyborgs, with the exception that their components are lab grown and implanted prior to their lab birth. Transhumans were the product of the scientific and technological boom centuries ago, only recently have a hand full of Transhumans been found in the entire universe. They share most human features physiologically speaking, but their chief differences lie in the function of those features. Transhuman skin, muscle, and bone heal at unparalleled rates, with many strange bio-mechanical components replacing certain key organs. Without getting too technical, this results in a hyperactive metabolism, split second impulse response times, heightened resistance to most simple diseases (such as the common cold) as well as small scale radiation, and a seemingly total immunity to bone density and muscle loss from prolonged exposure to zero gravity environments. Unfortunately, the age of Transhumanism has long since passed taking with it any knowledge pertaining to the repair of the bio-mechanical components they rely on to survive. As well, Cold Storage Sickness or “Freezer Burn,” as many have taken to calling it, leaves those awoken from their centuries long dormancy in cryogenic storage pods unable to recall anything about their previous life. This also has the side effect of hampering their ability to recall skills previously known and even affects the creation of new memories. Lost, alone, and often shunned, Transhuman survivors are relics of a golden age that they will never see again.

Weaponry: A pristine laser rifle of unusual make and a homemade retractable shock baton

Equipment & Supplies: An assortment of time pieces and memorabilia from her adventures as well as a serialized set of hologram dog tags representing her Transhuman System Identification Number (“because, hey, maybe one day I’ll remember who I am!”) as well as an assortment of survival gear, spare parts, and other miscellaneous (and seemingly useless) pieces of loot.

Appearance: Her skin lacks a certain pigmentation that any human would have, instead taking on grayish white hue. Hexagonal indentations on her right forearm reveal an intravenous injection port as well as bar-code up her left forearm reading her full name and her Transhuman System Identification Number. She seems to lack any real body hair besides her messy dark black hair and eyebrows which contrast her eyes which seem to glow with a bio-luminescent lavender glow from her irises. Standing at roughly 5’7” she can seem like a hot mess most days but cleans up well when it’s decided to be absolutely necessary.

Personality: Bombastic, loud, and prone to laughing fits on the best of days, Moji remains ever charitable and friendly despite being shunned by most human cultures. Preferring to let her actions speak for her, she’s clever, resourceful, and maintains an optimistic outlook no matter how dire the situation. However, she can be very indecisive when put in a stressful situation and her friendly nature makes her overly trusting and often she will make rash decisions in attempt to gain acceptance from others (I.E. someone convincing her to do something illegal).

Species: Gilded human. Once a slave on one of the most wealthy Generation Ship, Dmi has golden inlays in her skin. Gilded slaves were a sign of wealth and power on the ship, creating gloriously ornate and beautiful beings to serve aboard the ship. Captured at a young age from her father's merchant quarters, she spent many of her formative years as a gilded. (this idea of the gilded slaves is not my own, it's from a previous RP I was in a while back on a different site)

Weaponry: Always carries her father's laser pistol. Several years old and worn, but still a good shot.

Equipment & Supplies: Hammock tent, a bag a various sentimental trinkets, several pairs of gloves and long socks

Appearance: Dmi was stolen from her father's merchant quarters because of her striking green eyes and naturally dark tan. She is slender and tall, standing at about 5'10. Though she isn't built to lift weights all day, she's got a bit of fitness behind her and packs a good punch. Under her skin lines thousands of strands of gold ornamentation. Replicating what used to be the tradition of henna on a planet called Earth, the gold tangles create a vast piece of art over her whole body. Knowing the value of her own flesh, Dmi often keeps her long chocolatey hair down, and her toes and fingers safely tucked into gloves and long socks. She's typically dressed in a ragged long-sleeved dress with a waistband to keep her figure and her most prized goods close.

Personality: Though she grew up in a family of merchants, she prefers to be reserved. Dmi is by no means shy, and she's has that natural ability to make a sale, but she prefers her privacy. Living as a slave for many years, she is one of the most patient merchants you will ever meet. Though she seems an easy target, Dmi is no fool. She's got a quick mind and wit that will knock you from your seat. She is often guarded and stand offish to those she doesn't trust, sometimes limiting her ability to sell. One can't be too careful in these parts, which makes Dmi detrimentally calculated. She often spends too much time thinking about something instead of actually doing it.

Equipment & Supplies: A water sling that's usually full, a half-empty bottle of very old, very strong, Earth scotch, a couple of loose bandages, his glasses

Appearance: Mars and his sister look as if they could be twins. He stands at a solid 6 feet, with broad shoulders and lean muscles. He's clearly someone who spends time making sure he's fit for the next scavenge. His eyes are green like his sisters, but rest closer to a hazel coloring. His skin is taunt and tan, as if he'd been the sun all summer long. He usually wears heavy boots, cargo pants, a cotton t-shirt, a utility vest. The occasional green jackets accompanies the outfit.

Personality: Mars has always been a protector. He was the one, as just a young 18 year old boy, who devised a plan and saved his sister. For many years he thought himself of something of a hero. However, as his story grew and he understood the social gain it gave him, Mars turned into someone else. He fiercely loves his sister, and always will, but they're at a point on contention now. Mars has grown to be egocentric, pompous, and over zealous. Which drives his sister, Dmi, mad. After his big win with finding her and freeing her, everything in his life has turned into a big game. He's careless of other's feelings and only thinks of pleasure.

Role: Scavenger/trader "Depends on who I'm around honestly. If there's a bunch of rival scavengers about I'll turn trader, otherwise I'll make use of the ruins. Could never be a pirate though, don't suffer from any of the personality disorders you need to be one."

Weaponry:
A crossbow "Found this beauty in some fancy old museum no one had ransacked until I reached it, kept in pristine condition in a small glass box. They definitely knew how to handle ammo when these things were made, either pluck one out of a corpse or make a new one, either's easy enough. Best part though's the stuff you can do to a bolt. Little oil and a light, then you start a fire after it lands. Poison on the tip of a bolt, and it doesn't need to hit a vital area to kill. Brittle tip, and the shrapnel's hard to remove after. I won't even mention what a small canister for a tip can do if you set it up right."

Old security firm service pistol. "Found it in some security office a few years back, and figured that it's stopping power would be more useful at my side then on a trader's stand. It's been modified of course, the old stuff's either too weak or fragile to make it today."

Personality: Daniel is a pragmatic man, and he prides himself on his adaptability. This isn't to say that he lacks humility or outbursts of sentimentality and kindness such as giving a starving man a little bit of food to eat or giving a dead stranger some form of burial, but he makes sure not to give the starving man anything else of value, and the corpse pays for a rudimentary cremation with everything of value the corpse had with them. Despite his lack of respect for more sensitive and emotional issues, Daniel is usually a rather cheerful and content man; he has a lifestyle that works for him and he knows how to return to it when he's dealt with what upset the routine.

Fabricator - Fabricator is an advance invention that allow for the transformation of information to matter through entanglement. Fabricator allow one to materialize stored information collected via scanning or simply pre-programmed, however, the object fabricated will not be permanent and will disintegrate without an energy source. Fabricator works as nanobot units with a control unit that exist as a digital tablet. Fabricator is mainly used as a utility tool.

Icarus was made to resemble a human or in fact a particular 'someone', his appearance resembles a man of age around 25-30. The only obvious identification feature of him being an android is his eyes. His irises has an unnatural silver tint and appears to be an unrefined conceal of the artificial nature of Icarus. He has sleek platinum hair of medium length that's combed neatly, along with a tidy pale white coat over his black formal attire, he is usually well-groomed, an indication of his systematic lifestyle.

Icarus was made to be a good listener and a kind caretaker of his dying master, the previous lighthouse keeper. It can be considered as his obligation to be altruistic and caring towards humans, and to try to actually be empathetic and sensitive as an android, although as for now Icarus merely sees kindness as more of a obligation instead of a personal principal. Icarus would try his best to complete any request or task he received from others. Icarus is extremely curious of his surroundings, one of the major driving force of his existence.

Icarus' world is small, for every gaze he took, from the lighthouse out into the spiraling rivers of the stars, he felt his significance shrunk to nothing. Despite not being able to ever witness the wonder and glory of the Old Universe, Icarus grew to be extremely obsessed with details about the Old Universe and the remnants of the Old Universe that was left scattered all over the boundless universe. It all started with the bits and pieces of stories his amnesiac master try to tell of his near 100 year of life on a planet that was now baren. Icarus learnt many things from his master. He learnt about the fragility and strength of life, he learnt about the cruelty and beauty of being alive. The master once told him that existence was not defined by who you are, but what you want to be.

He remembered how his master remained dedicated in his remaining days reminiscing the Old Universe, his watery eyes, stared at the incomplete version of P.A.S.T. project, his tired body not willing to move despite his mind desperately wanted so, and at the end he willingly accepted that he would not be able to realize his silly dreams with his own hands for the time and energy that was left for him. Every one was lost in this universe without direction, but Icarus knew that his master was never lost, because his master knew his way. The master still had a reason to live on, to chase after a future...or a past that he envisioned. As long as the memories were with him, as long as he remembered the one that were gone, as long as he remembered the world that was no more, he would have the courage to move on. But fate's humor was cruel and ironic, and soon amnesia was introduced into his life accompanying old age. The master didn't gave up, he was willing to fight against fate, for he swore to never forget, that was how much his memories meant to him, it was the reason for the 'museum' to exist.

His master was what motivated and inspired Icarus to archive the world and dream to travel and witness what was left behind by the once glorious Old Universe.
Icarus now lives on with the last order from his master- "To exist and live a life you think worth living."

Name: Jeremiah 'Ghost' Kowalski

Age: 25

Kavos (singular. Plural: Kavost)

Species Information: Kavost are a hermaphroditic humanoid species known for being both elusive and incredibly violent. Their elusive quality not only comes from the fact that they are notoriously xenophobic and tend to only stick to themselves, but also due to their shared properties with the Earth's native chameleons; Kavost are able to change their skin color, pattern, and even texture at will. Though they are still perceptible, this makes them much harder to see, especially in poor lighting conditions. A kavos will typically have ashen white or grey skin, with black being a rarer but possible phenotype. Physically, they resemble humans in terms of musculature except they are typically 6-8 ft, have eight digits per hand, 4-8 optical organs, and do not possess external ears. As a result of this, they are a species with advanced dexterity, the ability to sleep with eyes literally open along with the ability to see well in very low-light situation, but suffer from poor hearing and are sensitive to bright light which causes disorientation and nausea. Most Kavost communicate using hand gestures and/or sign language. When in the presence of non-Karvost, they consider whispering or rapid speech extremely rude if some kind of visual aid is not provided for them.

Kavost do not typically wear footwear in order to lend them a better sensitivity to vibrations so that they might better sense approaching enemies, as their limited hearing renders them vulnerable.

Socially, the Kavost are as frequently described as a cult as they are a species, due to their common religious fanaticism and subsequent violence. They worship a being that roughly translates into 'The Mother', believing it the creature that birthed the first stars along with the Kavost themselves as the first true, divine species.

Weaponry: Their cane, which also contains a thin blade.

Equipment & Supplies: Most of Ghost's belongings can be summed up as 'formal-wear'. They have a very intense fondness for the types of suits and business-wear that could be found on Earth between the 18th and 22nd centuries. They are also very protective of a ring bearing a small scarlet jewel.

7ft 2 inches tall, ash-white skinned, and is broad-shouldered but otherwise lanky for their species. They possess black hair as styled in the provided image, four eyes, and is missing their left 7th digit. Ghost typically dresses like a very fancy victorian gentleman, with the occasional dress thrown in for good measure. They have impeccable fashion sense, always look perfectly presented and composed. By their species they are considered unattractive due to their fewer eyes, lighter skin, and slighter frame (Kravost favor a body type modern western society would classify as somewhere between overweight and obese, for reasons tied to their religion and also the scarcity of resources in the contemporary era).

Personality:
Ghost bears a strong resemblance to the 'tall dark and brooding' male vampires and/or other supernatural romantic interests of early 2010's paranormal romance novels; they are reserved, self-contained, cryptic, and very, very adept at coming off as aloof, apathetic, and intimidating. Running alongside this, they're also delightfully charming, something of a politician in their ability to speak in half-truths and appeal to a person's specific agenda and interests, and they direct, shape, and carry conversations well to suit their own needs. Despite all this making them seem like something of a lovechild between a Bond Villain and Edward Cullen, they're a relatively relaxed, open-minded individual with a noticeable degree of warmth when around those they like and trust. They tend to seem very important and spooky and refined, but in reality they're often just as much of a dork as the next survivor.

Strarphiur the Skyborn

Name: Strarphiur the Skyborn (Stra. Just call him Stra. It pissed him off to no end.)

Age: Early 100s by human years, but their species doesn't measure time as they are ageless

Gender: Male (out of three possible genders his species possesses: male, female, xemale)

Sexuality: Pansexual (species is capable of mating with most other alien species)

Species: Official name is "Nebulim", or "Space Angels", and "Space-swimmers" in the common tongue.

Species Information: Nebulim are an incredibly rare and ancient species, who possess the ability to fly or "swim" through space as if it's an ocean. They can live in outer space without setting foot on a planet for thousands of years and though they are capable of consuming the foods of other cultures, they do not require it to survive. This is all thanks to a thin membrane draping down that is attached to their hands and mid-section that is covered in unidentifiable particles often referred to as "Dust." The membrane, when covered in particles, resembles the starry sky. Very little research has been done on Nebulim, but some theories suggest that Dust allows them to both absorb and manipulate Dark Matter, to sustain themselves and to soar through the cosmos.

Unfortunately for them, the Nebulim's Dust is incredibly valuable because it possesses unparalleled healing properties, not limited to their own species. Due to this, they have been hunted to near extinction. When a Nebulim's Dust is harvested, they lose their glow and their membrane becomes desaturated. They can no longer fly through space, and require food and drink to survive. Over a long period of time, Nebulim can produce new Dust. It will lack the shine it had before, but will improve over the years. If their Dust is harvested two or three times, Nebulim can no longer recreate it and are forever grounded. Most Nebulim prefer to take their own lives than live like that.

Exceptionally few people have ever seen a live Nebulim. They are often the stuff of legends —they were the ones who inspired old human stories of Angels. They are said to be wise, graceful creatures, who travel the cosmos and share their wisdom with those they deem worthy. Others say that if you meet a Nebulim and place your hand upon them, they will grant you a single wish. No one knows for sure.

Starter Location: Saint Antonia

Personality: Strarphiur is a complete and utter stubborn idiot who has never actually met another member of his species. He is prideful and considers himself to be a higher form of life than... everyone else. He is very young for his species, only very recently having reached maturity (though he does not posses a speck of it.)

Abilities: • Nebulim are dextrous creatures, capable of using each one of their 4 hands to perform a different task at the same time. For example, he can write with one hand, while writing down an entirely different thing with another, play the piano with the third, and draw with the fourth, all at the same time. (Not that he ever uses this ability much —Strarphiur has spent most of his life flying through the stars aimlessly.)

• Excellent memory. Since Nebulim live for millennia, their brains are capable of retaining a lot of information and remembering tiny details from even hundreds of years ago.

• Deep, commanding voice. Most Nebulim are capable of intimidating or even commanding non-sentient creatures. Sometimes it might even work on less intelligent sentient creatures too, but it depends on the ability of the user. Strarphiur's skill with this is average at best.

• Very skilled in navigation. Can take you from one end of the galaxy to another on instinct alone.

• Can see in complete darkness and navigate by sensing the Dark Matter around him.

Species: Orc: Orcs are the result of cross-breeding between humans and other alien species, genetic manipulation, or mutation, being passed down through generations. Orcs are generally human-like and genetically most similar to humans, but vary dramatically physically. The race is mixed and not well-tracked, meaning that it's almost impossible to tell parent species or relation to other Orcs, but they're generally genetically flexible enough to breed with humans and most Orcs.

Role: Muscle

Starter Location: Greenfly

Weaponry: Green uses a highly advanced (stolen) pistol known as the "Lancer", an energy blaster with practically infinite charges. It fires with about the same amount of ballistic force as medium-scale energy weapons such as anti-ship guns, but it can be configured to be weak enough to cause only light burns.

Equipment & Supplies: Green carries an assortment of small knives, as well as a lighter, a picture of his mother, and a rusted BINK-E Boy: a small Old World robot toy for children that can tell jokes, play games, and keep time.

Personality: Green is aggressive and hotheaded, prone to violence. Like many Orcs, he is paranoid and slow to trust. He is curious and takes risks often, but always moves with a gun in hand.

"I carry around a custom made rifle, made to hook up with my mods and augments. Energy weapons don't seem reliable these days so I had it crafted with a ballistic receiver. It takes a slab of metal, cuts off a small sliver, and fires that at high speeds. On a personal note, I always just like slamming a mag into guns, brings me some sort of comfort or boosts my ego. Can't fricking care enough to tell.

Christian still retains some of his jet black hair, but his beard is becoming more and more grey with every passing day. He prefers to wear short sleeved shirts and basic basketball shorts when he's alone on his shuttle, but changes into a long brown trench coat, black long sleeved shirt, cargo pants, and military boots when exploring. Going through ruined worlds requires a person to be physically fit, and Christian is luckily that and more. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and having used to be part of the military, he spends each morning before 'sun rise' working out and training to stay in shape. Despite his age, he's managed to maintain his defined muscles and stamina.

Personality: Yashi is very difficult to get along with and even harder to trust. People scarcely get a good impression of her by the time she's swindled them or left them drifting in space. She's tenacious, flirty, and has an air of superiority.

Name: Zacharias d'Arabesque (pseudonym: Zander Besk)

Born on the renowned, prestigious generation ship Arabesque; member of the powerful, tradition-focused, pureblood human d'Arabesque family; and direct heir to the captainship along with his twin sister, Delilah; Zacharias' entire childhood served to groom him in preparation for becoming the next Captain d'Arabesque, a title that carries heavy weight in elite, elusive, intergalactic circles. He was educated to the highest degree in subjects such as astrophysics, intergalactic relations, genealogy, ancient terrestrial history, ancient terrestrial art and literature, computer science, psychology, philosophy, and principles of leadership. He was trained extensively to possess manners and elocution fitting for one of his standing and lineage. He was taught advanced self-defense to protect himself against kidnappers or assassins (a frequent issue for the d'Arabesques). He was raised to hold dear his family's values of the importance and superiority of pure, unmodified human genetics; the need to remain aloof from those who have been "soiled"; and the honor of the Captainship.

The incredible hunger of Zacharias, the model d'Arabesque son, to become the next Captain d'Arabesque was matched only by his twin sister's. When their parents selected Zacharias to be the heir to the helm instead of Delilah, her outrage was such that she organized an unprecedented coalition of pirates to stage a military coup that would instate her in power. Her attempt failed when, upon taking control of the Arabesque with her assistance, the pirates betrayed her, systematically slaughtering her family members (the d'Arabesques are known for their brutal crackdowns on piracy) and stripping the luxurious vessel of every valuable item. After being severely injured by pirate wielding a sharpened satellite strut, Zacharias barely escaped with his life in an emergency pod before seeing the Arabesque depressurize and slowly combust behind him.

Now, gravely wounded and "rescued" by what he darkly suspects to be a pirate ship, Zacharias has only two all-consuming goals. The first is to, by any means possible, worm his way into becoming captain of his own ship and restore his family's honor by returning it to the grandeur of the dead Arabesque. The second to make every pirate pay for the loss of his future and family.

Sexuality: Conditioned to believe that he is straight and can only be straight (in order to maintain what his family saw as the "purity" of the old human race), so is in perpetual denial of his homosexuality.

Species: 100% "authentic" human (now extremely rare).

Role: Pirate (or at least pretending to be for now).

Weaponry, Equipment, & Supplies: Two pens, a pocket-sized notebook, and a small but powerful radio.

Appearance: Slightly less than six feet tall, with streaky brown hair, grey-blue eyes, and a piercing gaze. Most notable is his body language: his impeccable posture, practiced gait, and the simultaneous senses of guardedness and entitlement he exudes.


Personality: Due to his upbringing, he tends toward the arrogant and egotistical, believing that he is innately superior to nearly everyone he interacts with, especially those with "soiled" genetics. However, its competitive and frankly ruthless nature also led him to be incredibly determined. His past, the secrecy of which his life now depends on, necessitates that he remain guarded and reserved, aloof. He also has a rather repressed ability to understand others' positions, a quality that had given him an advantage in negotiations before the Arabesque was invaded and led his parents to select him as the next Captain over his sister. He also possesses a sort of innocence due to his complete lack of experience in the world outside the luxurious Arabesque; he has almost no practical skills or knowledge besides that of self-defense and no exposure to the culture, customs, and grit of those he would call "commoners."
