A WYRD TALE

THE STORYIf there is one story that ends, indefinitely, in tragedy, it is undoubtedly the tale of MacBeth, the story of a poor soul who wound up believing in the false prophecy of the Wyrd sisters, and, hungry with power, killed all those close to him. However, not many know the Wyrds' side, nor do they know why they committed such an awful deed. In fact, we may never know the Wyrds' motivation, other than to cause trouble for the royal family. It is predicted, however, that they disliked the current royal family and therefore did what they could to get rid of them. They were successful in their endeavor, however, and, after doing the deed, disappeared without a trace. If there was one thing they were known for besides overthrowing a king, however, it was the revolution of a style of magic; Inner Wyrd. These abilities focused on the clarity of mind and the soul. To preserve this knowledge, they wrote the Wyrd Scriptures, a series of books describing the use of their magic. Amongst these scriptures are the Three Books of Summons; the Book of Heroes, the Book of Weapons, and the Book of Beasts. It's said that whoever possesses one of these books has the capability to summon a legendary hero, weapon, or creature to protect you, or even manipulate one's body to become like that hero, weapon, or creature.

And so we drift away from the age of the Wyrd sisters and several hundred years later. The kingdom of Lostriburg is gripped by a king, an evil one said to be the reincarnation of MacBeth, seeking revenge for the deed that the Wyrd Sisters committed against him ages ago. He has issued a hunt for whoever possesses one of the three Books of Summons. It is said that the descendants of the three and coincidental bearers of the books (Lisithea, Faligaia, and Wysteria) are the only chance of stopping the madness of the king himself, but the chance of succeeding is low, seeing as His Majesty is very well protected by his guards--members of the Montague family.

THE ROLES
WYRDS

  • The Librarian - A peaceful sorcerer who spent most of their young adult life living in the Reverie Athenium, an enchanted library built by the wizard Prospero. This sorcerer is the descendant of the eldest Wyrd Sister, Lisithea, and keeper of the Book of Beasts. Their life is relatively quiet, and they aren't used to any sort of conflict, save for the occasional troublemaking caused by their friend, the Mischief Maker. Little do they know that they will soon meet The Orphan and The Warrior and have their life completely uprooted. Taken by TheHufflepuffRabbit TheHufflepuffRabbit
  • The Warrior - A soldier working under the king, this person is unaware that the strange book they carry around for good luck is actually the Book of Weapons. The warrior is the descendant of Faligaia, the middle Wyrd sister, and has been assigned to patrol the Enchanted Forest where the Reverie Athenium just so happens to be. What will they do when they happen across their distant relatives, The Orphan and The Librarian? Taken by Hercynia Hercynia
  • The Orphan - The adopted child of the Faerie King and Queen, this person lost their family in a freak accident involving the king attempting to kill them. However, the orphan was saved by the characters in what they consider their "story book", or rather, the Book of Heroes, which they inherited from their ancestor, the youngest Wyrd, Wysteria. They were raised in the Enchanted Forest and know nothing of the drama occurring in the forest or of their importance. That is, until their chance meeting with The Warrior and The Librarian. Open.
THE FAERIE KINGDOM

  • The Faerie King & Queen - Adoptive parents of The Orphan. They are immortal faeries who have been through a lot together--especially arguments. Yes, the King and Queen do argue amongst each other a lot, to the point of sending the Mischief Maker after one another with harsh pranks. While they do argue, however, deep down they love each other. Very deep down. Open.
  • The Mischief Maker - A faerie working for the king and queen--more specifically, the King's right-hand man. They love causing trouble for both Faeries and Humans alike, but they are good friends with The Librarian, often perusing the Reverie Athenium to find new ways to cause trouble. They intend on joining The Wyrds on their journey to assist them. Taken by SilverFlight SilverFlight .
  • The Servant - An ancient faerie who once served the wizard Prospero and the caretaker of the Reverie Athenium. Taken by Mitchs98 Mitchs98
THE KING'S COURT

  • The King - A charming man who ascended to the throne by killing those around him. He remembers the life in which he was brought down from power by the Wyrds' prophecy, and he is hungry for revenge. Taken by TheHufflepuffRabbit TheHufflepuffRabbit
  • The Queen - The brains behind the king's ascent to the throne. She is very knowledgeable and the person who urged him to kill so many people to reach the throne. She is also his public voice, the one who successfully manipulated the kingdom into believing he is a good person. Taken by Valentina Aeternum Valentina Aeternum
  • The Mourning - The prince/princess of the kingdom and technically the true heir of the kingdom. They know what is really going on, due to the fact that they lost their brother and father by the hands of their uncle, The King. Their father got a proper burial; however, their brother was marked as a traitor and never got buried. The Mourning loved their brother to death and relentlessly tries to bury their brother to respect him. Taken by Blackrose7 Blackrose7
  • The Montagues - The private guard to the king, though they face their own issues against a rival family, The Capulets. One of the Montagues may be a "Romeo"; in love with a Capulet. Members include SidTheSkid SidTheSkid ,
OTHER

  • The Capulets - The rebellion against the king. They are a powerful family who openly dislike the King and have gotten in lots of trouble as a result. They intend on taking down the influence the Montagues have on the kingdom. One of the Capulets may be a "Juliet"; in love with a Montague. Members include Solemn Jester Solemn Jester , . D O V E . D O V E ,
  • Relatives of the Wyrds - Brothers, sisters, etc., who have similar powers to the Librarian and the Warrior. They obviously cannot be related to the Orphan. Two per Wyrd, open.
  • Townspeople - Self-explanatory. Always open.
  • Ghosts - Ghosts of the people the king murdered. They intend on assisting The Wyrds. Three maximum, open.
  • Various Faerie Servants - Servants to the Faerie King and Queen. Always open.
A NOTE FROM FEM
Hello, there, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I'm a HUGE theatre geek. Like seriously. I've got it bad. This roleplay is basically my tribute to the King of Playwriting himself, William Shakespeare, and I'm going all-out. From MacBeth to A Midsummer Nights' Dream to Romeo and Juliet to a tad of The Tempest, I am a lover of Shakespeare. So what better way to celebrate it and the upcoming Shakespeare festival than creating a roleplay based off of it? I am eager to do this and will definitely need some help, however (my dad is a poophead who took away my computer), so if you're interested in co-GMing or something like that, then just contact me! And be sure to reserve a role too~! In the meantime, I'll be here, waiting.

Muahahaha~!

They cannot summon or use the abilities of the Books, but they do have powers relating to them (i.e.; transforming into weapons, for example.)
