I've been developing a plot for this roleplay I want to make and this story I want to write. For me to get to the point, you need an idea of it first.

This is it (none of this is final):

Every five hundred years, the God of the World dies, meaning they need to be replaced. In this world, there are three academies, but before you enroll in one, you start at a normal school to be assessed. Based on the assessments, you are sorted into the Mind, Body, or Soul class, and sent to one of the academies.

The Monastery of the Mind teaches you intelligence and mental strength. This academy educates you in the art of mental and psychic powers.

The Barracks of the Body teaches you about combat and physical work. This academy educates you in the strength of physical and offensive powers.

The Shelter of the Soul teaches you about kindness and charity. This academy educates you in the magic of defensive and healing powers.

Every time a new God needs to be selected, there is a Mind, Body, and Soul competition to find the new God, who must be worthy of all these things despite specializing in one. When the competition comes, each academy sends X number of champions to compete, and the winner becomes the new God.

In this competition, there will be three types of trials: Trials of the Mind, Trials of the Body, and Trials of the Soul, collectively known as Trials of the Hero. Passing most or all of the Trials of the Hero will prove your heroism.

This proposal is simply to ask for help in making the Trials of the Hero. I'd like it to be thorough.

Why must it be academies, so cleanly sorted and well-established?

Also I'm not sure this falls under acceptable proposals.

I'd be happy to offer my opinion, though I think Grey is right. A proposal is generally something that is for the benefit of the site or it's members, rather than personal benefit. If this was an rp idea it would be a proposal, but since it's for a piece of literature (presumably) the proposal format isn't really applicable. Still, I'll gladly offer my insight on this, and I'd encourage you to move the discussion to the chat we have going (Story Mode Network), rather than seeking help through a proposal. ^_^

You should post this in the interest check forums. :)

Did you read the full post?

Actually it's for a roleplay and a piece of literature.

Ah, I misunderstood since you said that it was an idea for a story that you wanted to write. If you do intend to run this as a roleplay, my main advice would be to not have the schools be separate entities, unless you think you can garner a large amount of players for it. Roleplaying is easiest if all the characters are fairly readily accessible to all the other characters. You could have factions within a single school, which might work better from both a narrative stance and a GM perspective (depending on how you intend to manage the rp).

With all that said, I recommend amending your initial post to reflect that it is your intent to create this as a roleplay :)

I did!  I don't see why it couldn't be posted there. :) That, or roleplay discussion.  I guess it depends on whether you're looking more for interested folks or more advice for the trials.  It's hard for me to tell.

It's a draft, so I'd like advice on the trials, and help on making them (which is why I proposed this).

Roleplays are stories, but yeah I can see how it would be misunderstood.

That's a good idea.

And that's also a good idea.

@Riuma

I agree with all of the above. Proposals aren't really meant to help out personal roleplays, let alone create/tweak things for the single user who made personally. I also say try this in the RP Advice Forum. A proposal like that will be extremely hard to pass here. Anything personal will be hard to.

Let me know if you want me to close this post, or still leave it up for the 2 weeks.

Not at all. I only want to say we have 20 members and 60% of that is 12. Having 12 people support this is unlikely. I don't want you to waste your time and energy. Most are hidden, but we had about 8-10 proposals already. Only two passed so far. Those are very bad odds. Suggesting something personal, makes them even worse. Ideas need to be broad, helpful, and applicable to everyone. Anything else just won't cut it.

I see. But seeing as I've already spent the time and energy posting this and responding to some posts already, I might as well.

Also, depending on what the trials are I may let them be used by RpN members.

After seeing the talk above, and seeing a dubious conclusion, I don't really know if further discussion in this thread are acceptable. That said, I'd like to briefly say that I like this idea, I support, and if @Riuma would like to host a interest thread or a IM group message, I'll give my two cents in length. This sounds like a great piece of lit!
