Fantasy The Experiment (Reboot)

MittyMittens

Bumblebee Therapist
(Redoing this since the last one got chaotic and I missed too much to get back in)

The Basics

After a year of living in a small room, only to have their blood drawn, things injected in them, as well as various of other experiments performed on them a group of teenagers are released into an enclosed in an area with a large house and lots of forest around them, that if they ran far enough would come across a very high electric fence. (with radar systems and stationed guards equipped with tranquilizer darts for anyone who attempts to fly or dig under or around) It didn't take them long to realize what had been done to them, each of them could change into an animal at will. Their necessities were supplied to them, basic food, clothing, and hygiene supplies were delivered once a week.

The Experiment

The scientists created this particular experiment to see how their shape shifters would interact with each other, especially after having very limited social contact for a year. There were cameras everywhere to watch their progress.

Will you embrace this new found "freedom" or will you be hostile and aggressive after being cooped up for so long?

Will the animal take over you or will you be able to keep your human side sane?

Lily was pacing in the metal cage in her fox form they had placed in the block of land they sectioned off for the experiment, her sedatives had pretty much worn off. She had been given more than normal before being placed in his cage. She was panicking thinking she'd be kept in an even smaller place. She barely registered she was in the middle of some trees. All of the others were placed in a metal cage in a different part of the area, but she didn't know there was anyone else here currently. She hears a voice over an intercom system she assumes that says "Release!". She pauses at hearing the metal cage door slide up and takes off as soon as it was lifted high enough for her to slip under. She ran as fast as she could thinking she was free, her heart nearly leapt with excitement. She soon reached a fence and her stomach drops at seeing it manned by guards. She leaned forward to sniff the fence before yelping and jumping back at her nose being shocked by it. Lily looks up at the guards before sighing and turns to make her way to see what else she could find, realizing this was just another one of the doctor's experiments. She stayed in her fox form, feeling safer in it rather than her human form. Her red fur surprisingly blended in with the way the light filtered in through the trees. Though the white tip of her tail stood out as she kept moving, her tail constantly flicking out a nervous habit.

Evan lifted his head lazily at hearing the sound of metal against metal when the door raised, still pretty sedated. He drunkenly gets to his feet and staggers out of the cage, seeing a large house in front of him. His feet fail him and he drops to his knees, still in human form. He looks around, squinting, seeing a forest surrounding him before turning his attention back to the house. What on earth were the scientists doing now? What point could this possibly have? He struggles back to his feet before making his way to the house, hoping there was water or even food to help his sedativeness pass and to claim enough for himself if there were others since that seemed to be the case.

Luna woke up, shaking her head. She looked around, her eyes widening. She smelled something fresh, like grass. She lifter her heavy body and walked towards the entrance to her cage. When they released her, she bolted out the door. She moved a bit sluggishly at first, the sedatives starting to wear off. She soon ran around, having fun. That was until she found the fence. Seeing the guards, she bolted back the other way spotting a house in the distance.

Leo woke up in a haze. He looked around and saw he was in a forest by a lake. The door lifted off of his cage. He morphed into his snake form and slithers away. After only a short time he sees the house and heads in that direction. A couple of moments later he was in the law grass. The door was closed so he quickly changed back into a human and opened it long enough to get inside and close the door again. He changed into his snake form to be more mobile. He was impressed with the architecture of the house and wandered around, wondering why they placed him here.

Aeni awoke in a snarling frenzy, snapping her slender jaws at the stale air as she was still delirious from the lingering effects of the sedatives. She twisted and pounded her lean body against each side of the cage until she tumbled out of the opening in a bronze fur heap. The female manned wolf staggered into the bright sunlight, squinting around at the new, open environment. Enjoying her first breath of fresh air, in a year.

All of her senses were still obscured, the sunlight seemed overpowering washing out her surroundings, sounds muffled and distorted, smell, taste, and feeling were greatly numbed , but all her senses were returning slowly as she padded along the soft grass around the worn house.

James awoke from his drug-induced slumber. He then realized he wasn't in his cell... No more containment. He was finally free! He flew up to get a good look at the place. Hm. So they were still under surveillance. He also saw a house. Maybe that's where they live now. Could be worse, he'd been in the experiment room more times than he could count and it hurt like hell inside there. He strolled over to the house, and then reality hit him. He was free. And he wasn't on those sedatives for once! He realized he could fly, and he didn't want to get close to the fence... For some reason, that gave him the willies. He flew over, and saw a wolf beneath him. He decided it would be best to explore the house, and he opened the door, a fine cloud of dust appearing. It was at least 2 stories. He looked around. How long had this been left for? A year? There was a clock and a calendar. The calendar read... With a look of horror, James realized it actually had been a year since he was first swept away. With a surprised look, he awaited the newcomers.

Luna padded around the house. Deciding to go inside, she changed into a human, dusting off her clothes and opening the door slowly. The house was pretty. The place was far nicer than a square metal box with electric fencing. She looked around, her tail and ears coming out for in case anyone wanted to attack her. While she was walking around, she found a snake on the ground. Jumping a bit in surprise.

Leo sensed a presence behind him and reared back and hissed at her. He stopped realizing she had animal parts coming out of her body. He compared himself to her size quickly. His black body was longer than she was tall and he was thicker than her bicep. He morphed into his human form. "Hi" he awkwardly said after a moment.

Metal screeching against metal pierced his sensitive, causing a low growl to erupt from him. Vince slowly moved his giant body to a standing position. Apparently, he must have shifted after being placed in the cage though he was sure he had cut someone from the dried blood that stained his left paw. Azure eyes surveyed the landscape, it was all forest though he was sure he saw a roof of some kind in the distance. Vince knew all too well that this couldn't have been a release he was too much of a "threat" to be released in public. Then again it wasn't his choice to have his DNA infused with that of the African King. Moving his body into a half crawling position he scrambled out keeping his body low to the ground ready to pounce. His muscles were aching to burst out into a full out sprint, but he held back choosing instead to let his body get used to being out in the open. To be serious it made him nervous, the cages he was used to barely were big enough to fit him in both forms.

Finally complying, Vince stood to his full height and made his way towards the only shelter in sight, keeping a watchful eye on his surroundings. He may be the King of the Cats be he sure as hell didn't feel like getting into an altercation with sedatives still working in his body. He kept seeing something white flicker to the right of him, though he chose to ignore it thinking it was just his mind unused to it's surroundings.

Luna looked at him. She blinked a few times before looking around. "I am, not alone?" She said to herself. Even though she was much larger is size to him, he could easily kill her with one swift bite. "Your not here to kill me are you?" She asked, uncertainty in her eyes as she peered at the once snake and now human.

Evan makes his way into the kitchen, eyeing the others who had entered the house. He opens the fridge, shocked to find it full of delicious food and not vitamin enriched mush. He quickly grabs a few things from the fridge and the cabinets before making his way upstairs to find himself a room to claim as his own. He finds one upstairs in the back part of the house where he wouldn't be disturbed. He stuffs some things away in various hiding spots, maybe it the wild dog in him taken over in that aspect. He starts chowing down on some other things, watching his doorway ready to tell anyone who passed he claimed it as his own.

Lily makes her way through the woods, pausing as an owl in a tree turns to look at her. She crouches low at seeing a red light near it's black beady eyes; a camera, of course they were being watched. She continues on before coming across the house, she crouched in the tall grass taking in everything. Her time in basic solitary confinement had made her a bit paranoid. She watches as several people made their way into the house not quite sure if she wanted to go in just yet. She figured these people were probably just like her but why they were all here is what makes her nervous.

"Not unless your one of them" He said emphasizing the last word. "And my bite won't kill you. It will, however, knock you out and cause severe pain. Have you seen any others? I think I heard someone else in here." He looked over his shoulder just in case. He had a lot of trust issues, after all. "I'm going to get a room."

The manned wolf quietly watched the snake man and the girl from a distance nervous, but eager to see others coming from the same past as her. She quietly wandered around the property on her stilt-like legs to observe any other experiments before taking the chance of shifting into her vulnerable, human form. Aeni lowered herself in over grown grasses, hiding her body as her bright, dark eyes watched the large predatory cat approach the shelter.

Luna nodded and looked around. She decided to claim a large room soon. She transformed and ran inside, her large body taking up most of the moving room. She found a large room next to one that was claimed and walked inside. She rolled on the bed, leaving fur there. Just in case people tried to take her room, she took her claws and made a mark outside her door. She walked back outside.

Walking though the grass, Luna saw a set of eyes. The eyes of a lion to be exact. She growled, showing her fangs.

Leo slithered upstairs to the rooms and chose the smaller single bed in the corner. Once again he had to morph into a human to open the door. He rummaged around for a while for a pencil or something sharp, but couldn't find anything. Outside his window, however, he saw large tree and snapped off a branch. He used that to carve a Capitol L on the outside of the door. He then walked back inside to get comfortable.

(This is my last comment of the night)

Aeni quickly bolted from her hiding spot and darted into the house with swift, drunken bounds as the kemonomimi girl exited. Not wanting to be within the line of sight of the large cat, weary of the creature's reputation. She wandered up the stairs and circled the halls, finally settling for the room with the largest window to keep a careful eye on her new enclosure mates.

After months in a tiny cell, the worn out canid couldn't help but make a comfortable nest of sheets on the old bed. Aeni nuzzled the dusty fabrics and curled up in a ball, shifting into her petite human form with honey-brown hair for a well deserved rest.

(Last post of the night as well, night night everyone!)

Vince narrowed his eyes at the animal showing it's fangs to him. He wondered for a moment what the name of it was sense he wasn't very knowledgeable when it came to other species. Rising to full height once again, he looked down at the creature in mild amusement. He found the attempt to scare him kind of cute. Giving a toss of his mane, he quickly transformed into his original human look. He flicked his onyx hair out of his blue eyes sitting cross legged on the grass with no shirt. He found the shirtless part weird, but at least he was equipped with pants.

He held his hands up, a lazy grin coming to his face.

"Hey, I'm not here to fight alright, Doll?"

His amusement was evident in his tone though he watched the animal with suspicion. He didn't trust it, but he was extremely hungry and really wanted a room before they were most-likely taken. Besides, the King should have the best room.

Luna transformed back. She glared at him. "Doll is not something you call a large cat with teeth." She said. She flicked her tail. "As long as you don't try to kill me, or else I will have to give you a run for your money." She said, smirking. "Ever heard of a tiger? King of the jungle? I'm the queen of the jungle. Basically, king of the plains, were even." She said.

Vince sighed, looking at her and tilting his head as he looked at her.

"Doll is something you call a small cat with teeth and a bark."

He mused, his grin spreading across his face. She was cocky, he'd give her that. He sat forward suddenly, looking into her eyes knowing his held a predatory glint.

"A Tiger eh? I thought they'd be scarier."

He chuckled to himself, winking at her. He decided that he loved poking fun at her just because her annoyed face was oh so amusing. He looked at her human form finding himself looking her up and down very openly. Hey, a guy in solitary confinement for 18 or so years is going to check out the first girl he sees.

Luna was ready to slap him. He had obviously checked her out. She growled again. "I can be scary if I want to. And I am not for sale bub." She said, crossing her arms. She wasn't going to buy the "In captivity for years" crap, she was not for sale. She barred her fangs at him. He was starting to get on her nerves.

He grinned, holding his hands up once again. At least he could admit that he had been killed by a hot girl if it came down to it.

Standing, he rotated his shoulders.

"Bub, I like the nickname Doll. Have you by chance been hanging with a fellow named Wolverine. I believe he goes by Logan now a days." He mused, ignoring her threats. This probably wasn't the smartest thing he's ever done but it sure as hell wasn't the dumbest. Skirting around her quickly, he then slowed his pace as he moved to the house keeping his hands on the back of his head. He looked relaxed, like he wasn't taking any of this seriously. Though his eyes darted around the landscape, noticing evil little red eyes everywhere. They were being filmed, most likely recorded like some kind of sick social experiment.

"Ha Ha, Very funny." Luna sneered. She was beyond furious with him. She growled and snapped at him. "Fangs speak more than barks and why are you so insistent on poking and prodding me? Most people want to be alone." She hissed, her fangs still present. She looked around. Whatever this was, she wanted out.

James wandered the house while everyone else was talking. He wasn't in the mood for talk tonight. There was an old staircase going up... What happened to this house? James made his way into a room, and eventually, he found nothing but an old chest he was afraid to open. James turned, left, and made his way back downstairs.
