~A Half-Hearted Affair~Wealth, fame, power! Monkey D. Luffy, the 'King of the Pirates' attained this and everything else the world had to offer and his dying words drove countless souls back to the seas- "You want my treasure? Hehe, sure you can have it! I left it altogether in one place! Now you just have to find it! Cheheehee!". These words lured men back to the Grand Line in pursuit of dreams far greater than they had ever dared dream before. This is the beginning of a new era! The Great Pirate Era Part Two- Electric Boogaloo! I mean! Ahem! The Grand Pirate Era. So Come aboard and bring along all your hopes and dreams!

This Rp takes place ten years after the death of Monkey D. Luffy, King of the pirates and the man who could buy the world. His death imitated that of the previous pirate king, sending shockwaves through society once again, sparking a powder keg that was just waiting to blow! Yes just like with Rodger, Luffy has kickstarted yet another age of piracy and exploration. Many have taken to the sea in search of the one-piece and the new world has once again fallen into a state of flux following the huge power gap left behind by Luffy's death. The marines have their work cut out for them and especially in the past five years, they have opted to crush every pirate they possibly can. If they can stop pirates from reaching the new world, things will be far easier controlled!

The sea is filled with sea kings, monsters, hostile pirate groups, marines and all sorts of strange and mysterious phenomenons just waiting to ruin your fun. But you're not going to let that get in the way of your dreams now are you?

This rp will be starting on Foosha Island, the birthplace and presumed resting place of the famous Monkey D. Luffy and also where he famously met with red-haired Shanks and began his pirating adventure. There has just been a marine battle a short way off the coast and wounded from both sides are washing up on the shores.

It was late at night when the echoing cannon fire began to roar across the horizon of Foosha village. Stirred from their slumber the citizens had no idea what to make of the situation, the navy hadn't warned them of any encroaching battle nor were they told to repair for a large-scale pirate raid by the Gao Kingdom officials. Yet here they were, subject to roaring cannon fire the likes of which many hadn't witnessed since the pirate king himself returned on his final voyage to say his goodbyes. What was going on? Who or what had caused such an event and what exactly were the poor citizens supposed to do in preparation?

The answer wasn't a simple one but after an emergency meeting of the village elders, it was decided that the town would prepare for the worst-case scenario, a pirate raid. For the remainder of the night, the village set about preparing defensive barriers and redying gorilla weaponry with which they could hopefully defend themselves. Fortunately, though, the worst hadn't come to pass and the village was safe. Relatively speaking of course. Come morning a messenger bird delivered the news that the cannon fire heard last night was nothing more than a navy battle between an assortment of pirate and navy vessels. The pirates in question were routed and slowly corralled into a firing line, all in all five crews had been wiped out that night and according to the report, there was no need for worry. In fact, the only thing the village had to do in all this was promptly turn in whoever washed up upon the shores during the coming few days.

To aid with this a single navy ship docked later that day. The crew numbered fifty in total and they set up base right there at the docks, not wanting to venture too far into the prior pirate king's home. A diplomatic approach, besides if any ship wanted to leave it would surely be spotted regardless of if they patrolled the land or not.

Enter you. It has been two days since the attack and the navy is now firmly set up in the docks. Many have washed ashore, some still alive and many others already deceased. There are mixed views among the islanders, many of the older generations wish to aid the pirates who wash ashore while many of the younger generations are pro turning them in. How will this story evolve? Well, that's up to you! Perhaps you arrived beforehand, or perhaps you washed ashore following the battle. Regardless escaping Foosha village is the main objective, navigating the villagers, pirates and navy the obsticle.

The other night turned out to be a great stroke of luck for Val! Not even a week on his own, and he somehow managed to get himself entangled in the wrong side of a pirate plot. So there he was, stowed away inside of an iron cage below deck with no idea where they were going, and simply staring out to the moon from a small window slit in his cell. Thinking about all those stories his mentor told him about the world beyond this sea -
nadia-anime.gif
beyond the Grand Line. That is when it happened. First, there was the sound of distant cannon fire, then he could hear everyone yelling on the upper deck as the cannon fire sound grew louder and the next thing he knew, he was washed up on the shore of what he'd learn soon learn was Foosha Island.

Val was lucky enough to be found by one of the elder villagers, who stumbled across him while he was on a late-night stroll along the beach, and was kind enough to take Eval into his home until he recuperated. Being that he was a few days without food, decent sleep and being taken by the ocean as a devil fruit user Eval was out for some time. waking up sore late the next day. He was cautioned to stay one more night by the elderly man who helped him, and they spent it drinking tea together. Eval told him about how he got into the situation and also admitted that he was aspiring to become a legendary pirate; it didn't seem like the elderly man minded it though. In return, the man told Eval about where he was and gave him a general rundown of their little village. He also told Val that this was also the birthplace of the last one who did it, the person who had it all: wealth, fame, power - and the One Piece. It was then that Val felt a sense of something like fate like this was the place where his journey would truly - finally - begin.

The next morning, Val made a point to get up early. He decided the night before that he wasn't going to disturb or potentially bring this man in harm's way by his presence any longer. He did not want to be the cause of his troubles. He packed up what little he had, which was basically nothing but a few literal scraps of metal he was trying to fashion into a set of keys for his cell. But since that was no longer necessary, he melted the scraps down between his palms. When he opened them again the scraps had turned into beli coins with the number '500' on them. Placing the coins down beside his bed before leaving and wandering out into the village.

Thanks to the old man, Val wasn't completely lost. He knew that Foosha Village was part of the Goa Kingdom and that across the mountainscape lay the Royal Palace, which was likely his best chance at finding a ship to get off the island. There was only one problem, well a few actually. He figured that it was more than likely the Marines would first set up camp in the Royal Palace, which may even go as far as to put tight security on all ships coming and leaving the Kingdom while his next big problem was the very simple fact...That Eval had absolutely no idea how to operate or navigate a ship. The more he walked, the more these issues weighed on his mind while he tried to figure out his plan to get out of here.

"Hrm...Hrrrmmm....HRRRRRMMMMMM......Gragh!! Forget it!! I need a place to go think..." he yelled with his hands scrambling through his hair in frustration, and his eyes landed on a sign reading 'Partys Bar'. Well that doesn't sound like a bad place to go think! That is what Val thought, and he decided to go inside for a drink and space to properly think through his next move.

Current Objective: Find the Pirate Kings Resting Place

Elizabeth had been on Foosha Island for a little over a week now. Her journey had taken her here in search of stories and tales of the infamous Monkey D. Luffy and of course his final resting place. An avid fan of the late pirate King Elizabeth had always wanted to pay her respects at his grave as well as see the sights he too saw as but a child. The village of windmills, of freedom and Liberty. Oh how wonderful a place! And so, Elizabeth had been spending the week here searching the nearby forest and hill during the day and spending her nights listening to stories at the famous 'Party's Bar'.

How unfortunate so that she found herself now stuck on the island with the marines ready to pounce on any pirate remotely near the docks. That she now found herself surrounded by half-dead and pride-wounded pirates looking to take their frustrations out on anyone or anything if given even the sliver of a chance. How unfortunate indeed. And to make things even worse! the villagers themselves were on edge over the whole thing! How unfair that they need now shoulder the weight of both pirate and marine without so much of a warning. To Elizabeth this was what bothered her the most, this island was supposed to be a place of freedom and joy! The people were good and honest! And yet now, out of the blue, both the pirates and Marines were causing a ruckus and damaging the entire atmosphere. How unfortunate indeed.

Swaying on a stool right before the bar Elizabeth hummed to herself as these and numerous other thoughts ran through her head. With a mug of ale in one hand and the other propping up her head lazily the red-haired woman sat in quiet contemplation. The bar itself was full, injured men and women sat all around the venue, drowning their sorrows in cheap booze and ale. Some were angry, itching for a fight, others were distraught and desolate and many had practically already given up and were simply enjoying what they thought to be the last of their free time for the foreseeable future. One thing they all had in common though was their affiliation, all those amassed inside were pirates. That was save for one old man sitting at the bar next to Elizabeth.

Old man Han, a villager. Standing at around 4 ft and some change the old man was of a frail build and worse a baggy cloak that made him seem even thinner than he really was. Old man Han had been Elizabeth's drinking buddy this past week and he had thought her many things about the Pirate king, told her many fun stories and even sang along with her when he informed her of a song the pirate king used to sing. Actually, the whole bar back then sang along, smiles were abundant then and the place was afloat with joy and laughter. But then again that was when the bar was full of villagers as opposed to battered and sorry pirates. No, the scene now was far more depressing and there was an air of suspense as to when something would kick off. In Elizabeths own words. "well this isn't much fun..."

1666089630331.png

Han nodded in agreement and chuckled to himself, ordering another round for the two with a wave of his hand. "You're quite right Miss Elizabeth. The mood is quite a stark comparison to just the other night." Chuckling to himself the old man laid out some coin on the bar.

It was only seconds later the doors swung open and the room went dead silent. The sound of boots hitting the wooden floor filled the bar as a large man and four of his companions entered and made their way up to the bar.

1666087839684.png

Once at the bar the group came to a halt and after a few seconds of awkward silence the man spoke up, standing directly behind both Han and Elizabeth as he did so. Voice echoing through the bar "You two seem to be in our seats. How about you get out of here and I'll let it slide."

Before Han could manage to speak a full word the man brought his hand down hard on the coins Han had just prior left out for the drink "Eh? You got something to say, old man? To me? Is it an apology?"

Mummers began to fill the room, some talking about how dead the old man was, others about how Elizabeth wasn't going to be let just leave, and many about who the ringleader exactly was. And he was none other than Captain Chegorath of the infamous Seraph Pirates. An up-and-coming headache in the local waters with a crew of 20 akin to mountain bandits. A violent and ill-tempered man with a bounty of 400,000 Beli. One of the three targets of the Marines' assault the other night. Meanwhile, Elizabeth continued to sip at her drink, Han seemingly unfazed and more confused at the situation than upset.

If Eval ever wanted to become a legend, he had to reach the grand line - and to do that he had to escape Goa Kingdom. While approaching Partys Bar Eval was making a mental list of the things he'd need to do in order to accomplish that. Of course, he needed to find somebody who could navigate a ship and be willing to leave Goa Kingdom, but if he ever hoped to survive the Grand Line he was also going to need worthy friends. Eval had pretty high standards with who he was or was not willing to follow, after all, someone aiming to become a legend could settle for nothing less than surrounding themselves around those aspiring to reach a similar caliber. So far he thought, he hadn't met anyone who in his mind came even close to that.

So there he was, right by the bar's front door ticking off his mental list and hoping that he might find some people inside to help him out. Then out of nowhere, some big guy came barging through and sent an oblivious Eval back down on his behind. He barely made a sound when he fell, and looked blank-eyed at the man as he walked inside "Oh great, another cool guy...Would ya believe this Kineval?" he said to himself while looking up to the sky and then got up, intending to let the matter go as he went inside.
"You two seem to be in our seats. How about you get out of here and I'll let it slide."

Before Han could manage to speak a full word the man brought his hand down hard on the coins Han had just prior left out for the drink "Eh? You got something to say, old man? To me? Is it an apology?"
Eval stood at the bar entrance with his arms crossed and narrowing his eyes at the same mohawked shithead who barged into him. He watched as far as the man slammed his fist down in front of another elderly villager. Being rude was one thing, but acting all high and mighty while threatening somebody just trying to mind their own business was something that really TICKED Val off!!!

But no. He thought it might be best if this could be resolved without a huge ruckus, and he was willing to chew on some of his pride if it meant he could make that happen. He approached the man, tapping him on the shoulder, and with a fake smile said

"Hey, hey you're causing a bit of a scene here don't you think? Why don't I just buy you a drink and we call it even aye?!" he grasped his necklace just in case things got heated.

1666884150525.png1666884130290.png1666884165633.png

The sound of a flintlock being primed echoed through the bar when one of the Seraph Pirates accompanying the infamous captain did just that. With the pistol aimed directly at Eval's head the pirate in question began to chuckle to herself "Oi, kid. Have you any idea what kind of trouble you're getting yourself into?". The rest of the bar seemed to grow even quieter than before, all eyes on Eval and as well as the busty pirate that now held him at gunpoint. Lucy Ironbranch, the Seraph Pirates' second and resident gunslinger worth a whopping 150k Belli. Known for her cruelty and trigger-happy tendencies Eval seemed to have found himself now stuck between a rock and a very hard place.

Lucy's chuckling however came to an abrupt stop when her eyes fell upon the red-haired woman sitting at the bar. Still sipping away at her drink Elizabeth had also produced her own pistol and was aiming it directly toward Chegorath's heart. Chegorath was clearly enraged by this fact but remained as still as possible, his own eyes practically drilling a hole into the side of Elizabeth's head. "Oi oi OI! Who do you think you're pointing that thing at? Have you any idea the beating you're going to get once that pistol is dropped!"

Glancing to the side Elizabeth looked the captain up and down and chuckled to herself, grinning as she did so "Sorry, I'm new around here. You see in my home town, we introduce ourselves upon meeting new people and treat our elders with respect so. Well, I suppose you could say I've just been trying to learn by copying. Did I do it wrong?"

Swinging her pistol from Eval to Elizabeth, Lucy snapped at the woman "EH!? You trying to be funny punk! You're dead! You hear me DEAD!" and with that, a loud bang and plume of smoke filled the room. But when the dust settled Elizabeth was still sitting on her stool, sipping at her drink and holding the captain at gunpoint. "EH!"

Laughing softly to herself Elizabeth looked at the old man with a smile and he too began to chuckle. Waving to the barman the old man hopped from his stool and made his way toward the door. The Captain nodded at his men to let the man pass. Before returning his eyes to Elizabeth, a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead "You're one crazy chick you know that. Just who are you?"

Returning her empty cup to the table Elizabeth moved to stand, her mischievous smile practically radiating as she did so. "Me? I'm Elizabeth D. Walker. I'm going to be the future Pirate King and go on the world's greatest-ever adventure!" after a long silence, Elizabeth blinked a few times and then tilted her head to the side "But why are you asking me who I am? I'm not the only one you guys have to worry about".

'Oh, this is just my luck...'

So it looked like he had gotten himself caught in a bit of a snag. At first, he was pretty confident about his ability to deal with whatever happened, but that was before he suddenly had the wrong end of a flintlock barrel pointed at his cranium - by a girl!!! One of Eval's many weaknesses. He could spot the busty Lucy from his peripheral vision but wasn't game enough to turn his head to look her in the eye
'Oh crap...Why did it have to be a girl..' he thought to himself as his grip loosened from the small drill on his necklace.
"Oi, kid. Have you any idea what kind of trouble you're getting yourself into?"

He feigned a smile "Oh, I - errr - uh - guess not.." he stammered with his words in an attempt to respond to Lucy, and by the red, on his cheeks, one may have gotten the impression he wasn't used to talking to girls much, or at all. He wanted to tell her that she had it the wrong way around, that it wasn't him going into trouble. It was trouble that always seemed to crawl its way to him.

Eval could feel the bar's attention shift from him to the red-haired girl pointing a gun at Chegorath's chest, even Eval couldn't help but look over and that would be the first time he laid eyes on his future Captain - he just didn't know it yet...He was relieved, but also felt a little defeated by the situation. After all, here HE was trying to play hero and now not only was he the one being rescued it also appeared like a hostile encounter here was going to be inevitable. Eval blamed his stupidity on being locked down in that moldy cell for so long. All that aside, he found this sudden shift of events to be rather interesting: and exciting!!!

Walker. I'm going to be the future Pirate King and go on the world's greatest-ever adventure!"
'Elizabeth D. Walker', now that was a name Eval would not soon forget. For a second, he was stunned by her confident declaration that it would be her who would become the world's future Pirate King & Greatest Adventurer; in the very birthplace of the last Pirate King no less! Her boldness sparked a memory of his older brother once making a similar declaration. The words moved in and he couldn't help but smile and laugh out loud uncontrollably,
after a long silence, Elizabeth blinked a few times and then tilted her head to the side "But why are you asking me who I am? I'm not the only one you guys have to worry about".
Those last words from Elizabeth were like a call to action, Eval ripped the drill from his necklace holding it in his closed fist, and raising it up into the air as he cried out "Rikyasuto!!!". The drill expanded in an instant, returning back to the original size that fitted itself around Eval's fist "That's right, don't forget about me!!" he said as he launched himself fist-first toward Lucy, appearing as if he was about to drill-punch her in the stomach before stopping only a few inches away from contact.

"Foji Foji No Mi: Aianrokku (Iron Lock)!!"

The drill changed shape, appearing like swirling liquid metal as it reshaped itself into metal binds that stretched out toward Lucy's arms and legs in an attempt to bind them all together.

1667518690730.png1667518705730.png
When Eval launched into action he managed to take Lucy by complete surprise, the woman shook from having missed her shot at Elizabeth as well as from the woman's sudden and bold declaration. Turning on her heel the woman did make an instinctive attempt to dodge the incoming drill but in doing so had thrown herself off balance, making her an easy target for Eval's Iron Lock attack. The metal easily managed to bind her legs and had it not been for the woman's quick hands, they too would have suffered a similar faith. Falling to the floor Lucy flicked her pistol to Eval and fired off a second shot, only to hear the hammer click against the empty barrel. In a fit of anger, the woman threw the weapon at Eval and wrestled a spare from her waistband.

And though she was still a huge threat, Eval had more pressing matters to deal with. Namely the other three men who made up the group. Though none of them stood out in any particular way they all seemed rather shady and with just a glance it was safe to say they were no strangers to brawling or playing dirty. With Lucy barking orders at them, the men rushed toward Eval, the first and largest of the three throwing a heavy fist toward his face from directly in front, the other two flanking and cornering him between one another to buy Lucy the time she needed. "It's just one kid! Devil fruit or not you can take em! Pulverise that twerp NOW!"

1667518728197.png1667518741063.png
Meanwhile Elizabeth was still holding the captain at gunpoint, though as he chuckled away to himself Elizabeth was beginning to grow more and more displeased by the second. "Oi oi, Pirate king? You ahaha! Elizabeth D. Walker ahaha! You're a nobody! I haven't even heard of you before! How's a scrawny little woman like yourself going to go around saying stuff like that ehh? Ahaha! You're a fool! A fool with a death wish!". Growing visibly more vexed Elizabeth was very clearly susceptible to the man's taunting, quite contrary to her former composure. "What do you mean scrawny! I could beat your ass any day of the week! And I'm not little! Screw you! I'm going to become the Pirate King and when I do! I'm coming right back her to rub it in your undersized face! Look at you! big man tiny face! You're the fool! BAAAAAAAKA!"

No sooner has Elizabeth closed her eyes to stick out her tongue did Chegorath pounce. Grabbing the barrel of the pistol the man threw it aside where it slid across the floor toward the exit. Standing over Elizabeth now the man began to grin menacingly as he cracked his knuckles "See you're still just a kid. You get so worked up over the simplest things hahaha. Now, I think it's about time for that beating!" Throwing a punch directly toward Elizabeth's lower stomach Chegorath made an attempt to wind the woman from the get-go, if not immobilise her entirely. hough when he made his attempt Elizabeth narrowly avoided the punch before slipping through the man's legs. Returning to her feet once behind him, Elizabeth moved to rest her back against his. Mimicking his footwork to always remain back-to-back with him. Laughing softly to herself as she practically danced with the oversized man. "That's it, one foot left, to steps right. Now spin! There ya go, you're getting it!" "Aghh! Shut up!" "Hahaha, now who's getting all worked up hmmm"

The patrons at the bar were now split between the two parties, many cheering for both sides and others even beginning to make bets. The entire bar was alive with the sound of laughter, cheering and heckling.

For a second there Eval was worried as Lucy pulled the trigger, but was quickly relieved when he heard the sweet sound of an empty barrel. He shrugged at her and gave a coy smile "Hahaha!! Tsk tsk tsk, didn't your mentor ever teach you to always count bullets?" he snickered and quickly ducked under the thrown gun. Now that he was feeling a little more confident, his mind was starting to clear again, but still, he wasn't a fan of the prospect of fighting Lucy himself - so he was also somewhat relieved when three goons appeared.
"Just a kid? A KID!?!" Eval growled at the word, considering it an insult to his pride. He noticed that the largest of the three goons came rushing forward, intending to take him head-on while throwing his heavy arm his way while the other, smaller two came for his sides. As the large one came in with the big punch, Eval was able to quite easily predict and evade the attack by ducking under it, then pouncing back quickly from the other two who were flanking his sides. He was confident that he could take out the other two with just his fists alone, but as for the big guy - he wasn't so sure. So to be safe, he bumped his fists together. Suddenly his hands began to smolder and smoke up "I'm a man!" he cried out, still agitated over the comment as he rushed forward for all three of the goons at once "Foji Foji No Mi: Irubuken! I'll show you.."

Eval rushed forward again, grabbing both of the smaller goons by their face with each of his smoldering hands, and driving the both of them down into the floorboards. Letting his hands simmer on their face until he could feel the flesh start to burn, and then finally he faced the big guy, and before delivering his final strike he asked him "So, are you man enough?" but Eval offered him no time to respond or react before he launched a heavy punch of his own into his stomach "Foji Foji - Kusuburi Satsujin!!"

Eval stood over the fallen unconscious body of the three goons with a shadow cast over his eyes "Didn't think so.." he muttered under his breath with his hands still smoldering with smoke. He noticed just a moment too late that Lucy had her spare pistol pointed directly at him - and at that range, there was little chance of her missing 'I always knew it'd be a woman to kill me in the end...' he thought to himself, thinking that it would be the last thought he'd ever have.

1668228380615.png1668228402283.png

While Eval was busy dealing with the goons, Elizabeth was still locked in a dance with their captain. A captain that was growing more and more aggravated by the second. "You've got balls kid! Showing up here, picking a fight with my crew, declaring yourself the next pirate king. It'll be a shame to kill you! But you've forced my hand!" Laughing softly at his remarks Elizabeth continued to align her back with his own, mimicking his footwork and avoiding any flying elbows he sent back her way with ease. Despite this her focus was split, watching Eval any chance she got with curious eyes and a smile. The 'man' had moves, grit and tons of personality, not to mention he packed a mean punch! A devil fruit user like herself, though what type was still hard to decern, was it a heat-based fruit or something else akin to it? Whatever it was, the burn marks left on the two smaller goons seemed to indicate it was a very unpleasant fruit to end upon the receiving end of. And the ankle bracelet Lucy had been subjected to was quite frankly- awesome. Though as her mind drifted to Lucy Elizabeth was quick to notice the woman had readied her pistol and that Eval was in for a world of hurt if not sudden death.

Stepping out from Chegorath's shadow Elizabeth aligned herself with Lucy and in the blink of an eye, the woman as well as Elizabeth vanished from sight. Crashing through the wall of the bar and outside in a loud clatter the two women tumbled on the hard cobbles of the street, Elizabeth's grip tight on the woman's collar as they did. Coming to a halt when the two collided with a wooden fence Elizabeth and Lucy both groaned in agony. The multiple impacts quickly caught up to them both, and the scratches and bruises the two women now wore weren't all that pleasant to look at nor very well concealed. Elizabeth specifically had earned herself a rather nasty bruise on her arm from where she had braced against many of her tumbles. Though it took a minute or two Elizabeth was the first to pick herself up, Lucy still struggling to do much other than twist and turn in agony. Looking down at the woman Elizabeth let out a sigh before reaching down to retrieve the pistol she had dropped soon after the final impact "ouch, ouch, ouch. Too fast... too rough...".Hooking the pistol to her belt in place of her own, Elizabeth moved a hand to her stomach and began to slowly make her way back toward the gaping hole she had made in bar. Her eyes scanned for the captain she had left behind with Eval.

Back at the bar, things were looking rather tense, Elizabeth's sudden departure had left many a table and chair strewn across the bar along with those using them. The floorboard on which she stood had been shattered to pieces and the captain stood in disbelief at the sheer amount of damage the woman had caused to her surroundings in but an instant. Many of those pirate onlookers had begun to flee the scene fearing the navy might show up and those caught in Elizabeth's path lay speechless, gazing at the hole she had made and the devastation that lead up to it. The bartender himself though simply let out a sigh and moved to grab a broom with a shake of his head.

Chegorath eventually regained his composure though and when he did the hulking man grabbed a nearby chair and smashed it against the floor, creating a bat-like weapon from the shattered leg. raising it and pointing it toward Eval Chegorath's eyes sharpened on the kid and his muscles flexed and pulsated as he did so "Oi, kid. How about you control your woman! Do you think letting her run riot in here like this is going to accomplish anything more than earning you two a slow and painful death? You two are going to get the navy involved if you keep this shit up! Is that what you want?". Taking a step toward Eval the man seemed to grow even bulkier, his chest and arms ballooning in terms of muscle mass as he did. "You sure gave my boys a beating, scared 'em for life! What kind of captain would I be if I didn't return the favour!". With a sudden swing of his bat the captain brought it down hard in an attempt to hit Eval. The sheer force enough to shatter bone if taken directly, or the floor and bat itself if missed.

'I always knew it'd be a woman to kill me in the end...'

Just as Eval thought that his journey might be all over: and before it even began. Closing his eyes for just a moment as he anticipated the shot, but instead of hearing the sound of a clicking trigger and the subsequent firing of a pellet. Eval instead heard a loud crash and when he opened his eyes again, he caught only a faint glimpse of the red-haired woman crashing into Lucy as the both of them went tumbling out of the bar. He blinked a few times and was stunned for a moment as he looked at all the destruction that was left in their wake - and at the same time he was pleasantly amazed

'Well, I'll be damned! That was awesome...Does that mean she is a devil fruit user too?? What kind of devil fruit could be capable of this though I wonder...'

he scratched his head over that question and felt a little envious before his attention centered back on Chegorath.

Is that what you want?"
Eval's face flushed a bright red, and one could almost see him rise up to his tippy toes as he shouted out in response "EEEEHHHH!?!?! That's not- She's not-We're not.." the comment evidently struck a cord in Eval to the point that everything else Chegorath said seemed to simply go over him. He shook his head as if trying to get out any weird thoughts and continued to ramble quietly to himself, but stopped as he noticed Chegorath losing patience and taking a step forward.
Eval's eyebrow raised as Chegorath stepped forward, and he mirrored his movement by taking a firm step forward himself "Can't argue with that, just remember when this is all over..." he smiled while gritting his teeth, preparing his right fist at his side with his left hand hovering over it. Building up the heat in his right hand, threatening to set alight any wooden fixtures nearby "I offered you a drink first! Foji Foji No Mi: Kusuburi Satsujin (Smoldering Murder)!!!"

He cried out while launching himself forward. He was planning on facing Chegorath's attack head-on with his own attack.

400,000 Beri Bounty

With Eval launching into action the two men quickly found themselves within striking range of one another and luckily for the bartender, he had moved well out of their way. Fists clashed and in an instant steam and smoke shrowded the men, the disgusting stench that was burning flesh filling the room. Though beneath the cover of the smoke the two men continued to push hard against one another, fists going numb with force. What seemed like minutes was only but a few seconds though and as the smoke began to fade the winner of the clash became clear. Chegorath sent Eval's fist flying backwards and in the same moment he had done so, the man followed through with an even heavier punch to Eval's gut. With his fist digging deep into Eval the man sent him flying back toward the mess Elizabeth had made. Fragments of wood, glass and god knows what else littered the floor but luckily for eval he had landed back down on one of the few remaining tables.

Standing with his own fist smouldering and chared, Chegorath began to laugh at the downed man. Grabbing the drink Elizabeth had left behind on the counter and downing it in a single motion before tossing the small metal tankard toward Eval. "You sure like to run your mouth kid. Man this, Man that. Haha! With a wimpy punch like that Lucy could knock you down to size!" Looking down at his severely burned fist, Chegorath began to grin. Soon after his hand quickly returned to normal, albeit with a red tinge aking to a recovering burn mark. Flexing his arm a few times the man chuckled to himself before rolling his neck and shoulders "I'm a muscle man, I ate the suji suji fruit. No matter how much you try to burn away, I'll just grow it all back kid. You're way out of your league! I gave you the chance to run did I not? You should have taken it when you had the chance!".

Outside, Elizabeth was slowly making her way back to the bar, though she was stopped suddenly by a group of armed men. With several rifles pointed her way Elizabeth couldn't help but smile and laugh, raising her hands half-heartedly as she did so. Two of the men quickly moved to the downed Lucy and very quickly placed her in cuffs. Looking around with a curious gaze Elizabeth counted twelve in all, each man dressed in civilian clothing yet very clearly military-trained. Though Elizabeth didn't have to spend too long wondering who the group were for very quickly after Lucy was taken into custody, a large man approached her with a sombre expression and Navy Coat. "You sure know how to cause a scene. Pirate King eh?"

Marine Captain Lionheart & Pirate Captain Elizabeth D. Walker

Offering the man a smile Elizabeth nodded her head in agreement "Well, future Pirate king. Not that anybody inside seemed to have taken my declaration all too seriously"
Raising a hand the men trailing their weapons on Elizabeth returned their weaponry to their sides and the Coated man in question began to laugh to himself "Indeed. I'm Navy Captain Lionheart. Foosha Village is under my protection as are the neighbouring Islands."

Elizabeth returned her hands to her side after adjusting her hat and offered the man her hand to shake, to which he did in kind. "Captain Lionheart. What a cool name! Though, I already knew who you were-"

"as do I know you, Elizabeth D. Walker."

"Eh! How did you-" Pulling her hand back in surprise Elizabeth took a step back and immediately another rifle was raised toward her in response.

"The same way you heard of me, Captain. The villagers like to talk. And my oh my have you become quite the popular conversation piece."

Blushing slightly at the sudden compliment Elizabeth moved a finger to mess with her hair, her eyes moving to the ground as she did so "hehe, you're too kind! Me popular haha"

"I think you're missing the point, Miss Walker. You showed up here looking for the mystery tomb of the late Pirate King. Strutted around the place asking questions about it and went out exploring for almost every day. Not to mention you're little declaration just now wasn't your first time doing so. You've been here a week and yet you've gone whipped up a storm! The villagers seem to love you! And why? Because you're crazy enough to go looking for something that's clearly meant to be left well enough alone! Have you any idea how hard you've made the recovery of those pirates we had washed up here go? The town is alight with anti-navy and anti-pirate factions now!"

Tilting her head to the side Elizabeth moved a hand to her chin and thought deeply for a moment "Me? But I haven't done anything but mind my own business since I got here. Sure I talked to the towns folk and started a few sing songs in the bar but... I haven't done anything to hinder the Navy. Besides, didn't just catch you a pirate with a bounty?"

Shaking his head Lionheart turned toward the hole in the bar with a sigh "You have the whole town talking about the late pirate king again, about some hidden tomb right here on this very island. Have you any idea how long it took to get such rumours to quiet down in the first place? Several fools come here in search of that tomb every year yet why is when you do, suddenly the town starts paying attention again? Huh? I just can't figure it out."

Laughing softly Elizabeth kicked a cobble at her foot and twirled to face the man aiming at her, winking at him as she did "Honestly Cap, I have no idea what you're talking about. I just asked to be told a few stories, sang a few songs and helped out where I could to earn my keep the past week. I came here to find the resting place of the last Pirate king so I could make him a promise. And I'll stay here until I do. Monkey D. Luffy was my predecessor and a great man. It's only right I pay my respects to him before setting off in earnest. It may seem foolish to you, but to me, this is an important step toward my goal."

Chucking to himself as he watched one of his men begin to crack under the pressure and absurdity of the situation, Lionheart moved to take a step closer to Elizabeth, his 7-foot frame towering over her as he looked down on her from behind. "And what if I were to stop you? End your journey right here and now? Toss you in a hole, throw away the key".

Turning back to face the man with a serious expression Elizabeth's eyes locked with his own, her body straightened up, hands on her hips and chest puffed out to match his own posture."End my journey? I think you're mistaken, Captain. I AM going to be the next Pirate King, I will be finding Strawhat's Tomb, and no one, not even a Navy Captain, is going to get in my way!".

With each of the eleven men raising their rifles toward the woman, Elizabeth now stood face to face with the Navy Captain, eleven riffles trailed on her. The woman was squaring up against a beast, the tension and pressure of the situation laying heavy over the area.

The instant the two came to clash, Val was instantly surprised and caught off guard by the resistance put up by Chegorath. Val wasn't holding back, and with the extra heat he was packing in his fist was expecting to fold this man just as easily as he was able to fold metal. Instead of that, Val struggled for what felt like ages before Chegorath broke through his attack and before he was able to bring up any form of defense. Chegorath also followed up with a heavier punch that dug right into his gut and sent him flying back into a few tables in front of the hole that was previously made by Elizabeth.

So there he lay, strewn across a couple of fallen tables with the indentation of Chegorath's fist still visible on Val's stomach with his head hanging back against the tables he was against "Urgh...I haven't been punched like that since.." he never got the chance to finish that thought before noticing a metal tankard clanking beside him; tossed over by Chegorath who began to laugh down at him.

A shadow fell over Val's eyes as he silently listened to Chegorath's words, this time without any retort on his part. The frustrating truth of the matter was the man was right in a way, here he was proudly proclaiming his manhood and now he was bleeding on the floor after severely underestimating his opponent. He should have known better than to ever underestimate anyone, after all, it was that very habit that landed him in this position in the first place. However, now Val was fully aware of the threat before him, and now he also knew that this threat was a devil fruit user like him.

If Val were to be smart about this situation, he would have done as Chegorath said and called it quits. Even now, there was still a good chance for Val to hatch a great escape! Yet whenever he thought about turning, he also thought about his brother, and strangely he also thought about that red-haired woman and how in that split moment before Val caught a bullet to the face she had managed to save him. With all that laid out, Val's conclusion was that there was absolutely ZERO chance he could turn back now.

Val propped himself up against the tables, and rather slowly but surely managed to get back on his feet and wipe away the blood that was trickling down his chin. Picking up the metal tankard with him on his way, and tossing it up and down with his right hand "Yeah, you did...Chalk it up to a miscalculation of the outcome." he said sarcastically and now held the tankard firm in his grip "So you're a devil fruit user just like me, huh? Well, since you told me yours I suppose it's only right that I tell you mine. I ate the forge forge fruit, so if you think the heat is all I'm packing you're sorely mistaken." Val finished his rant and to signify that now was the moment Val would start taking things seriously he moved his goggles down over his eyes before springing back into action!

With the tankard he had in his hand, Val threw it directly at Chegorath's face, changing its shape mid-throw: the metal unfolding, flattening, and then growing two latches that would lock shut on contact. Val's intention was to use this as a momentary distraction to blind Chegorath, while Val raced around the room picking up any pieces of metal cutlery he could find and stashing them in his pockets as well as picking up any other metal tankards lying scattered around the pub. Picking up around for metal tankards, he transformed into a pair of what appeared to be boxing mitts with fist indentations on his hands.

"Foji Foji No Mi - Buki: Kens (Fists)!!!" he readied both fists, taking up a sort of boxing stance, and once again his hands began to scorch causing his metal mitts to glow with an amber hue. Assuming that he didn't miss, or Chegorath hadn't caught the metal contraption thrown at him, Val would launch forward once again and unleash a long flurry of strikes at Chegorath.

"Schorching Blitz!!!"

Eval's plan played out masterfully with Chegorath finding one of his elbow joints clamped tight. The metal restricted the man's ability to rotate and move his left arm but more importantly, it distracted him from Eval's darting and weaving. By the time the man had managed to free himself Eval had already prepared his boxing gloves, something the might Chegorath scoffed at. "Really? You're still going to fight me with your damn fists kid? I'm telling you now, there's no way-" Cut off by Eval's rapid approach Chegorath braced himself for impact, tightening his muscles and guarding his face and chin with his arms. Hit after hit landed without fail and soon the stench of burning flesh filled the room yet again. Any normal man would have died from such a severe burning but true to his word Chegorath's muscle mass kept quickly replenishing. His skin however did not. And what was left following the assault was a man covered in patchwork esc markings.

Straightening up Chegorath cracked his neck from side to side, his eyes filled with bloodlust. The man's chest looked like something right out of a horror movie, a zombie burn victim come to life. With a heavy swing of his arm the captain delivered Eval another blow, this time directly to the chest, open-handed. The force of the hit would once again be sent Eval back but nowhere near as far as before and had eval been paying attention he would have also noticed the man seemed far more sluggish since receiving the prior attack. "You never know when to quick do you!".

Winding his shoulder a few time Chegorath began to lunge toward Eval yet again, his left fist raised and ready to strike with incredible force. "You're dead! Say your final goodbyes! Suji suji no - Limit Braker!"

Just as Chegorath made it within striking distance his fist and arm grew to four times their regular size. It was clear this punch would end anything it came in contact with.

Eval was getting a little frustrated, not at Chegorath but at himself, he wasn't holding back and was pushing himself to punch harder and faster with each strike. Yet it almost seemed to not matter at first, and it was just as Chegorath said earlier. No matter how much muscle he scorched away, there was always more to take its place.

As Chegorath began to straighten himself back up, Eval anticipated the incoming counter-attack with a palm to his chest. Eval was able to bring his arms up just in time to soften the blow just enough so that he didn't go falling back on his ass again like he had last time; this time Eval was only sent skidding back on his feet while being able to maintain his posture. He also noticed that Chegorath was a bit more sluggish than before, which was a sign that Eval's plan so far was working but he was not about to let himself grow overconfident again and he did not waste a second in setting up his next plan of attack.

Clapping his hands together, the metal boxing mitts liquified on impact, sticking to the palm of his hands as he stretched it back out and moved his hands into his pockets where he had stored the cutlery from earlier. Adding the metal from the cutlery to what he already had on his hands, metal spines flowed out from his pockets across different sections of the bar like a web. Assimilating any other metal constructs that were visible around the bar, gathering together more and more metal; strengthening its integrity. The metal spines would continue to dart around the room and reach out for Chegorath from all different directions: attempting to wrap themselves around his ankles, his waist, his neck, and his elbows.

As metal spines moved to constrict the monstrous man his beefed-up arm continued to hurtle toward Eval. With a wicked laugh, Chegorath ignored the metal wrapping around his ankles and torso and put his all behind his punch, a punch that was bending and straining the metal confines eval was now using to wrestle it into submission. The gut-curdling sound of metal screeching under pressure run out time and time again as did the sheer chime of metal snapping apart. That was right up until the punch came to a slow halt, just barely tipping against Eval's nose.

Chegorath was caught in Evals web at last. Though not everything had gone to plan, in ensnaring Chegorath, Eval had torn apart the bar floor and much of the ceiling. The supports of the bar were locked in a battle against the force of Chegorath's muscles and it was now safe to say the web of metal was the only thing now keeping the building standing. That at the small tip Eval had revealed to his nose had broken it completely, causing quite the bleed. Had he felt the full brunt of the punch he would have most certainly died as promised.

Stuck tight in the metallic web Chegorath scoffed "You got lucky kid, But this isn't the end you hear me? Soon as I get out of here I'll be after you and your little girlfriend. And a whole lot less drunk! Captain! Ha! That little brat will rue the day she opened her damn mouth! That is if she isn't already dead! I bet she's lying dead out there with a few bullet holes in her damn chest! Lucy will put you down too ya hear!"

The broken nose sent Eval reeling and stumbling a few steps back from the broken nose, but before it seemed like he was going to fall down onto his back he regained his footing and snapped his nose back in place "Ah?" Eval didn't seem to be paying much attention until the end, what with the broken nose and all. But instead of responding to Chegorath, his interest was instead in looking back to see how that red-haired woman was fairing against the gunslinging Lucy "Wonder if she's had more luck than m--" it only took Eval looking over his shoulder to spot Elizabeth in the distance confronting a figure dressed in white: which was not good news.

Captain Lionheart I Old Man Han I Elizabeth D. Walker

As Elizabeth and the Navy Captain sized one another up the tension in the air grew thicker and thicker by the second. It was an extremely rare sight to see anyone, let alone a girl as young as Elizabeth, square up so confidently against a Marine of such calibre. Ever since the downfall of Monkey D. Luffy, this was an even rarer sight in the East Blue, with both former Pirate kings hailing from the East sea, the World Government had not been lax in policing the area since. Three Captains had been assigned to the East Blue, Lionheart perhaps the most notorious of them all. An absolute powerhouse feared by any and all pirates 'dumb enough' to sail the East Blue's central Islands and/or satellites.

Anyone with any knowledge of the East Blues Navy hierarchy would very quickly be able to put one and one together. It was clear the ambush launched on the Pirate Ships during the night had been ordered and arranged by Lionheart. Tactical, precise and devastatingly efficient, Lionheart and his plans embodied such traits and his reputation made him, even more, terrifying an individual. The Captain was kind and well-liked by the citizens of east blue, and merciless toward anyone who would call themselves a pirate. But Elizabeth knew nothing of such, to her, he was just another person who stood to halt her adventure. Something she could never let stand!

With the two locked in a death stare, the marines surrounding them both began to sweat, unsure of how to proceed in such a bizarre situation. Though unclear of how to proceed, none dared to break the silence be it with a mutter or shot. Just as things were about to boil over though, the old man from before returned. Moving toward the Marine Captain and Elizabeth nonchalantly the man came to stop a few feet from the two with a soft chuckle "Lionheart, Elizabeth. This is no place for a fight now, is it?".

The marines surrounding the two nearly collapsed in shock and surprise. Crossing her arms and puffing up her cheeks Elizabeth turned her back to the Marine captain with a "Hmph". To which Lionheart reacted with a sigh and scratch of his head.

"There ya go! 'Sides, I don't quite remember giving the Navy permission to cause trouble 'ere!" The old man cackled.

"We only came to gather some supplies from the market. I had no intention of making any arrests until this little missey came crashing out through a wall carrying a wanted pirate. Still, You're right sir. You have my apologies..." Speaking in a slow and laid-back tone, Lionheart moved to grab a cigarette from his back pocket. Lighting it as he continued "We'll get out of your hair, but we're taking the pirate Lucy with us. 'twas a pleasure as always Chief".

And with that Lionheart motioned for his men to move out, pulling a drag as he did so. Moving his hands to his pockets, Lionheart lazily waved goodbye as he moved back toward the street "Oh and Walker, you might not have a bounty yet but that statement of yours gives me everything I need to lock you away. Don't think you're leaving this Island a freewoman ya hear!". And with that he was gone, mixing back into the crowded street from whence he came, seen off by Elizabeth's extended tongue and Old Man Han's warm wave.

"What a jerk! End my journey here pff! What a joke! As if!". Turning to Old Man Han Elizabeth kicked the ground with a huff before stretching her arms up high into the sky "Ugh the sooner I find the tomb the better! Then I can really get started and wipe that smug grin off his smug face!".

Standing aside Elizabeth, Old Man Han continued to heartily chuckle "Come come, he was just doing his job you know. He's a real softie when you get to know 'im ah hahaha! 'sides I already gave you all the hints you need to find the tomb! It's 'ere, built where the straw hat flag can wave high and free 'evermore. Right close but out o' sight. Atop freedom itself and watching o'er us all."

The built-up tension in the air was so thick, so tangible, Eval thought that if he were to stick out his tongue he'd even be able to taste it. Despite using up way more 'fuel' in that scuffle with Chegorath, Eval still had half a mind to give aid to the red-haired woman against the marines but by the time Eval was able to make it to the scene - the old man named 'Han' had already returned and appeared to have smoothed things over with the marine confronting Elizabeth. While Eval was interested in learning more about what Elizabeth's abilities were: he was still relieved that they wouldn't have to worry about getting arrested on the spot...At least not for now.

Lionheart parted on not so subtle note about Elizabeth never making it off the island, and he would approach the two as they began chatting about something to do with a tomb. Eval would just be about to formally introduce himself, before coming to a sudden realization that he had forgotten something very important: "Oh, shit! My drill!! Hey - wait!" Eval was already too late, however, as Lionheart and the marines accompanying him impressively vanished into the crowded streets. Taking Lucy; and Eval's drill - away with them.

"Oh he is so gonna' kill me now..." Eval moaned, then turned his attention back to Han and Elizabeth "Oh, uh, sorry about that." he faced Han and extended his hand, making a clear concious effort to not make direct eye contact with Elizabeth or even really acknowledge her existence; which may have come off rude to those unaware of Eval's 'struggle' against interacting with the opposing gender "It's nice to meet you old man! Based on that interaction, I take it your something of an important guy around here? Well I hope I didn't end up causing you much trouble back there in the bar. I was trying to help - honest." Eval apologized then turned his head over toward Elizabeth's direction, but notably instead of looking her in the face or at all: he was instead staring at the ground before her feet "Oh, and - err, uhh, y'know..Thanks...You were really cool back there.." he almost whispered, his voice not nearly as projected or confident as he was when speaking to Old Man Han.

"By the way, my name is Eval - Eval Kineval."

Han took Eval's hand and shook it firmly with far more force than one would expect from a man his age. With a beaming smile the old man chuckled to himself while rubbing at the back of his head with his free hand "Important? Little old me heh heh heh! You sure are quite the conversationalist, my dear boy! But flattery isn't going to get you anywhere with me ya hear he he he!". Releasing Eval from him death grip, Han turned back to Elizabeth who was currently deep in thought, clearly struggling with the riddles Han had given. Patting her on the back as Eval made his embarrassing attempt at an introduction the old man would eventually resort to giving her a firm thumping with his palm to bring her back down to earth. "Ahem! Eval here was just introducing himself, offerin' ya his thanks too you know! Come on, your head might be close to that tomb but for now, you're stuck down here with the rest of us. Where're your manners girl! Come on now!"

Catching herself before falling forward Elizabeth straightened herself up and patted at her lower back "Ouch cha cha- Sorry!". Turning back to the two men Elizabeth offered her own hand for Eval to shake once she had finished patting at her back "Elizabeth D. Walker, Captain, though I don't have a crew just yet. And hey, don't sweat it! I'm sure you could have handled it yourself even without me. Say, what was that about a drill? And someone going to kill you? Are you in some sort of trouble?". Looking down and following the mans line of sight Elizabeth found herself staring at the ground and the tip of her boots, odd. "Are you? Looking for something? Are you interested in my...boots? You're a strange one Eval you know that?"

Laughing to herself Elizabeth moved her hand to his chin and guided his line of sight to her own eyes with a cheerful smile "My eyes are up here. See, it's much easier to talk when you look one another in the eyes! Listen, If you want I'll help you look for this drill you lost. And in return, you can help me find what I'm looking for! You seem quite capable and just as weird as myself to boot! Heh... see what I did there, boot hahaha! Comedy!"

"Good one!" Han chipped in.

"What say you?" Releasing his chin Elizabeth extended her hand for Eval to shake once more, her smile cheerful and eyes sincere "Have we a deal?"

You're a strange one Eval you know that?"
Embarrassed and cheeks flushed red as he panicked "Uuhh! No!!! I was...I was checking to make the ground even...Yeah, that's it...I'm not strange..." he rambled but before he could go any further with making up excuses Elizabeth moved her hand onto his chin and lifted his head up to level with her eyes. His eyes widened for a moment, however, Elizabeth's sincere eyes and cheerful smile helped put Eval a little more at ease.

His eyes widened for a moment, however, Elizabeth's sincere eyes and cheerful smile helped put Eval a little more at ease, and he was unable to help but smile back. He hesitated a bit but managed to will his hand forward to take Elizabeth's and shake on the deal "Er- sure! Deal." he said while shaking her hand, still having trouble maintaining consistent eye contact. His voice then trailed off when he added "But I don't know how good of an idea it would be to go after my drill...It kind of just got taken away with whoever that marine was..."

Releasing Eval's hand Elizabeth moved to kick at the ground tilting her head to the side with a hint of curiosity "Even huh... are you clumsy or something?". Shaking her head free of the thought the captain returned her train of thought to the subject at hand "If the Marines took your drill then we can go ask for it back. Or get someone else to ask for it back. Heck, we could even take it back if we're in and out of the port quickly enough. But seeing as those knuckleheads won't be leaving anytime soon how about we look for the tomb first? When we find it I can officially start my adventure and it'll make fleeing from the Marines a whole lot easier. After all, it'll be harder to catch us if we flee by the sea!"

Turning back to the old man Elizabeth gave him a firm pat on the back "I might not be able to say goodbye when the time comes, so I'll say it now. Thank you so much for your hospitality Han! You tell the best stories! Oh and please tell the other villagers in my stead that I really had a blast!"

Nodding in agreement the old man chuckled to himself and moved toward the hole in the wall "You two get along now. The sea can be a lonely place!". And with that he was gone and Eval was left all alone with his to be captain. "So, got any ideas? Old man Han said - 'It's here, built where the straw hat flag can wave high and free evermore. Right close but out of sight. Atop freedom itself and watching over us all'. I've already checked the hills and windmills. Benn to the beach and the forest. I've turned this whole place upside down! I just cannot find it! It's somewhere free but since it's high up it can't be in the sea. Ugh! It's really starting to bug me!"

"You two get along now. The sea can be a lonely place!". And with that he was gone and Eval was left all alone with his to be captain.
"Leaving so soon? Sure you don't want t- Oh, and there he goes.." and just like that Eval was left alone with Elizabeth. Something he was definitely not very comfortable with, but considering he had already resolved to see where this would lead him he decided not to come up with some out-of-the-blue excuse to abandon ship before there was even a ship to abandon! While getting caught up in his own head, Elizabeth turned to him and proposed the same riddle she was given by Old Man Han.
Eval stared blankly at Elizabeth for a few seconds before giving a single intense blink "Uuuhh..." he then tried giving it more thought, evident by the hand placed on his chin "Hrm....Hrmmm..." he paced around for a few seconds before coming to a stop and letting out an exaggerated sigh while throwing his hands up in the air "No clue. If you ask me the whole thing sounds ridiculous! I mean...If I had to make any guess, I'd say the sky...But again, that is ridiculous! I've heard plenty of reliable stories about sky islands before, but I've never heard about one being in this area...So yeah! No clue.." he said while being a little disappointed in himself that he wasn't able to come up with a better guess.

Laughing softly to herself Elizabeth waved to the old man as he disappeared "Yup, there he goes Eval. Haha! You sure ARE a weird one!". Patting his back firmly Elizabeth stretched from side to side, raising her arms up high in the air as she did so. She continued to stretch and feel out her injuries' severity while she awaited Eval's response to her riddle clues. While the man hummed to himself and thought deeply on the subject Elizabeth stared out at the passing villagers with a bubbly smile, waving to many who passed by, receiving many back in return. She hadn't been on the island all that long but in the past few weeks she seemed to have helped out quite a bit around the town. The stark contrast in how the citizens treated her compared to other pirates was evident with just a glance.

When Eval finally offered his thoughts on the matter Elizabeth audibly gasped aloud. Turning on her heels she grabbed the man by the collar and began dragging him without delay toward the main street. Her smile was beaming and her eyes were practically shining with glee and anticipation "A sky island! Of course! Like the one Strawhat Luffy and his crew went to in order to find the city of gold! You're a GENIUS! Strange, but a genius!".

Releasing the man once he had found his own feet again, Elizabeth skipped along the cobbled road toward the town square, most notably in the very same direction the Marines had just left toward themselves. Fortunately for the duo though, the town square was seemingly marine-free, though very much bustling with civilian life. To a well-trained eye though it was obvious pirates had also blended in with the crowd. The most obvious being a rather large man with an equally as large sword. The man exuded strength and with just a glance even an untrained eye could easily deduce he was far stronger than Cheogorath. In fact, he seemed strong enough to take on Cheogorath's whole crew alone.

Stopping at the wishing well, Elizabeth looked up toward the clouds hovering in the sky. Holding her hat to her head so as to keep it from falling the woman gazed for a while in complete silence. And by a while, I mean five seconds, before groaning aloud "Ahhh, there are so many clouds! How do I tell which is an island Eval?"

Eval didn't even get enough time to be surprised by his well-placed guess before he was getting dragged off like a ragdoll down the main street. Ending up at the town square before he was let go. Eval soaked in the atmosphere of the town square, only a little relieved that they wouldn't have to worry about marines just yet. But he knew that he was bound to cross paths with them at some point or another. Especially if he intended on retrieving back his drill. Oh well! For now, he was more than content with soaking up the atmosphere and seeing where this red-haired girl would take him.

Among everything going on in the town square, there was only one thing that really managed to catch Eval's attention. Well more like one person: a large man tending to what looked to be an equally large blade. Eval always considered himself a good judge of character, but he didn't even need that skill to determine from a distance that he was strong: really strong. It was looking more and more like this island was full of figures stronger than Chegorath. That concerned him a little. He pushed that thought aside though as he followed Elizabeth up to the wishing well.

While she went to go look up at the clouds in the sky, Eval instead approached and stared down into the wishing well. Trying to catch the glint of coins at the bottom and wondering to himself what hopes and dreams might have been contained in each. He then noted that it was worth remembering this spot if he was ever in quick need of cash during his stay here., what!? A guys gotta eat, right!?
"Ahhh, there are so many clouds! How do I tell which is an island Eval?"
"Wha!? I wasn't doing anyth-oh..." he stopped himself mid-sentence after his mind actually registered what Elizabeth was saying and he joined her to take a look up at the clouds and after about, a second or so decided "Nope, no idea. I've never seen a sky island before, so I couldn't say. I also don't remember my mentor telling me anything about how to tell the difference...The real question is. Even if there is a sky island, and even if we do find it, how the heck are we supposed to make it up there?"

Elizabeth D. Walker/Goliath Pirate

Glancing into the wishing well Eval would have spotted quite a number of Berri's resting near the bottom, a small fortune in fact. But then again that brought its own questions, how was a small fortune of Berris just left out in the open and how had such a score gone untouched with so many pirates around? Alas, such a question was not the topic of discussion right now, no the sky Island and how exactly the duo were to get there was.

Listening to Eval's question, Elizabeth moved her hands to her hips and began to laugh aloud, drawing a few looks from those passersby as well as the goliath Pirate off on his own. The latter of which seemed none too impressed by the sudden assault of laughter his ears were subjected to. Smiling widely, Elizabeth's eyes sparkled in the light. Her energy was almost intoxicating and laughter was contagious. "How? Well isn't it obvious? We're going to jump there! Like ZOOM! ZIP! KABLAM!". Voice laced with Excitement Elizabeth reached a hand out to grasp at the clouds above, laughter starting up again "If we pick the right cloud we win! If we don't we go SPLAT! Isn't that exciting! A true adventure to the skies above! It's only real adventures that pose a threat after all! That's what makes them so worth it in the end!".

Grumbling to himself the large pirate slammed his fist into the table he was sitting at creating a loud crash and clatter that sent many of the civilians in the area scrambling. Those that stayed were either pirates under the man or too terrified to move, as was the case with one child in particular who had begun crying. "You! Weird Eyes! Shut your yap! Or I'll shut it for you!". looking at the child the man continued "That goes for you too pipsqueak".

Elizabeth however only began to laugh louder "Oi, Eval, look look. Now we have an antagonist! Treasure, a goal, danger, risk of death and an antagonist! This really is turning out to be a great adventure!"

Eval ducked on instinct when Elizabeth burst out in a loud laughter. He checked over his shoulder real quick, but went to nervously laughing alongside Elizabeth when her eyes came alight. Elizabeth's infectious energy made it so Eval was unable to help himself but join in!

"Splat kablam? Well you got me there, who would I be to argue? I've never gambled before, but I'm willing to try just about anything at least once."

And just like that, Eval started to get lost in potential ways they could reach the clouds as well as any methods they could use to test what cloud was what. But he would not have that much time to spend 'theorizing' before the irritated grumblings of the large pirate he took note of earlier started.
Eval's head swivelled back toward the large pirate and his smile quickly faded into a scowl. If there was two things Eval hated, the first would be a guy who thought they could just order or push people around, and the second thing would be a guy that made a kid cry for no good reason! Eval started to puff up, but before he could go huffing he was caught off guard by Elizabeth who only started to laugh even louder.
Elizabeth however only began to laugh louder "Oi, Eval, look look. Now we have an antagonist! Treasure, a goal, danger, risk of death and an antagonist! This really is turning out to be a great adventure!"
Eval looked back to Elizabeth and paused for a second. It was astonishing to him how she was able to so easily take everything in stride, only realizing now that he hadn't noticed a single moment where she broke composure. He took a moment to breath and smiled again "Well? What are we waiting for then!"
