Fandom Force of Destiny (A Star Wars RP)

Phsyco

Just because I walk alone, don’t assume I’m lost.
The clone wars were in full swing and the Jedi stretched thin. It was a dark time for the republic and the sounds of battle seemed to echo from one edge of the galaxy to another. The clone army was the only thing enabling the republic military to keep up with the insane number of droids the separatists were cranking out. Seeing their advantage, the Jedi sent a strike team to the asteroid colony of Mek'Sha where the separatists have reportedly begun construction on a new factory to produce even more droids -- and more deadly droids.

Master Pa'ol Dren and his young apprentice Slade Darkfire have been sent to oversee the operation in joint command with another master and apprentice duo.

Slade, anxious about their assignment, paced back and forth on the ship as they made their approach. The asteroid was little more than a hollowed out rock with a fueling station, but in recent years it had began to harbor numerous forms of commerce that brought visitors from all over the galaxy. It would be small enough that finding the factory shouldn't be too hard, but if the authorities on Mek'Sha had given the Separatists permission to operate there, that wasn't a promising sign. They could handle a droid factory. Dealing with the city security was a bother they didn't need.

"Calm down," Pa'ol instructed in a calm, cool, voice. The Keldor was always calm and collected, everything that Slade wished to be but wasn't. "Take a deep breath. There is no emotion, there is peace."

Slade took a deep breath and nodded. "I know. I'm sorry master."

"There is no emotion, there is peace," Pa'ol repeated expectantly.

"There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force." Slade recited the Jedi code.

"Everything will work out as it should," the Keldor insisted.

Slade took a deep breath once more as the shuttle came in for a landing. The other Jedi master and the apprentice were supposed to be there waiting. It did give him a little piece of mind that there would be two other Jedi on the task. The more the merrier. The ship came in to land on the platform as the thrusters hisssed with their descent. The clone pilot set down gently, hardly a jostle to be felt. Slade was still standing, but he knew better than to race to the door. Until his master stood, he remained where he was. When Pa'ol Dren stood and made his way to the door, Slade fell in place behind him.

Slade was ninteen years old, but he had not started his training until he was eight, much older than most Jedi. He had a troubled past that he still remembered much of, and that had slowed his progress significantly. He hoped that in a few more years he would be ready for the trials, but this war was changing everything. He had even heard rumors that Anakin Skywalker, one of the more notable up and coming Jedi in the ranks, was going to be given the rank of Master, far sooner than was typical.

"Clear your mind," Pa'ol's voice cut through his interior thoughts.

Slade nodded, clearing his mind. The exit ramp lowered and he followed his master out, ready to meet their fellow Jedi that awaited them on the landing pad beyond.
