Jon cast Hand of Protection on himself, a glowing aura of soft light surrounded him as his character – himself basically – made the appropriate hand gestures. He could even himself becoming more fortified and sturdy as the spell gave a temporary increase in health and armor. As soon as the spell was complete, he looked at the nearby Shadow Wolf, its maw agape in vicious snarl as it paced back and forth, the acidic saliva dripping through its razor sharp teeth. He whipped his hand in front of him, and once his arm was fully extended, pointing at the Wolf, he chanted the words for his next spell.
“Ah, kalah heim deh’dula!”
The spell was a success, and the DoT – Divine Justice – was applied to the Wolf. Jagged, red and black beams of light burst from the wolf, damaging it every few seconds causing it to wince in pain. The wolf lunged towards Jon, and he raised his arm, shoving his golden gauntlet between the snapping jaws of the wolf, warding off the attack. A fleck of the wolf’s saliva landed upon his cheek, and the effects were quick. It burned through his skin before being absorbed into his blood, it coursed down his neck, a black line, before a quick cast of Purge caused the most to be reversed and dispelled.
Although his reaction was quick, the acid had damaged some of his temporary shield and the blowing nimbus that surrounded him wasn’t as bright, a few breaks here and there. He growled and grabbed his hammer from the leather loop at his waist, swinging it up to smash into the side of the Wolf’s head. This caused the Wolf’s grip on his gauntlet to slacken and he was able to break free, and with a little dash, create distance between himself and the wolf.
“Lodem ni, deluda domina.”
A bright light surrounded his hammer as he casted Hammer of Wrath. With the spell cast, he gripped the handle of this hammer with both hands and swung it as hard as he could. At that moment, the wolf jumped towards him, however, his hammer was moving too fast at this point and it struck the wolf in the ribs mid jump. The light around the hammer flared and then shot towards the eyes, ears and wolf of the mouth, sinking in through these openings, causing a strangled yelp to escape from the jaws of the wolf before it fell to the ground at Jon’s feet, motionless.
Jon let out a heavy breath as the nimbus of light around him faded away, the spell, Hand of Protection, running out. He looked at the Shadow Wolf laying at this feet on the deep purple grass, wishing he had picked up Skinning so he could make use of all the beasts in this area. With a sigh, he turned away to only pause. Before him were four more Shadow Wolves. He must have lost track of his positioning during the quick skirmish, and aggrod the other Wolves in the area.
Two of the wolves jumped towards him. He managed to duck beneath one wolf, however other managed to sink its teeth into his arm, one of them slipping through his armor and digging deep into his flesh. With a wild yell, he yanked his arm away, causing a chunk of his forearm guard to be ripped off by the Wolfs teeth. A quick cast of Heal and the puncture wound from the Wolfs fangs closed itself, stopping the bleeding.
With another cast of Hand of Protection, just ran away from the wolves, knowing if we could barely fight two at once, four of them would surely kill him. And he didn’t have enough gold to afford the repairs of death.
