Lotus could feel the cold winter air blasting against his face, the chilling sensation spreads through his body, the disturbance of sound in his ears due to the wind blowing past him, windy… no

He is falling; head first. Not just him, but there is someone else as well. Opening his eyes, amethyst hues focused on the older man falling just slightly below him. The man seemed bewildered by the change of surroundings, they are not in a lavish room anymore but are currently freefalling with only the ocean greeting them below. The old man immediately locked onto Lotus, who looks so calm, his short black hair fluttering wildly in the wind and the older man finally snapped, realizing that he had been played. He had been found out.

You won’t escape.’ Lotus mouthed. Eyes locked on the older man currently falling through the air with him.

“You’re a— MYSTIC!” The man shouted, his voice odd almost as though it was synthetically created, in a flurry of rage his veins were visible.

Lotus put his arms up, in his left hand, he is holding an oddly white looking gun. One that he took before a bright white light transported and dropped them from the sky and soon to be into the awaiting ocean below. A strong impact collided against his arms, one that is much stronger than a normal human would, he was pushed back. There were muffled sound of roars as well as fabrics ripping.

Adison… no, the Demon appeared in front of him with inhuman speed, ready for another strike. But Lotus was faster, despite being in mid-air, he dodged the attack quite smoothly. In his right hand, a dagger appeared, clear as ice, emitting a frosty glow. The Demon had changed its form, no longer the human form that it stole. It has red veiny skin, an appearance that would resemble an ogre, three horns protruding from its forehead. Its eyes were a sickening yellow.

Lotus had been put under the task of extermination, his target is a Demon, rank ‘Guide’, who disguised itself as a music teacher that was supposed to teach violin to Carla Robin soon after it had murdered her. Due to the destructive nature of Demons, they had to use a teleportation spell to get the fight as far away from any populated areas.

Both the sky and glimmering water below were mixes of orange and pink from the setting sun. Two figures exchanges several blows in mid-air, too fast to be detected by any normal eyes but once the two flashes of light broke apart to create some distance between them, one could see that one was a man in his twenties, in a black suit while the other is a demonic ogre, who is much bigger than the human, about two times his size, intimidating, large tusks and claws. Bright sparks flew as fast as they could appear as they clashed again, the man's dagger collided with the demonic ogre's claws.

The man looked... unbothered and almost bored as he blocked the monster's attacks, from punches, kicking as well as clawing. He would always block it either with his dagger or his white gun.

Forty Seconds until impact.

The demonic ogre disappeared as though it was an illusion, Lotus still feel the killing intent from it. Just... right behind him! The dagger spun in his hand, its blade that was once facing the front suddenly switched to face the back, the sickening sound of sharp steel digging into flesh could be heard less than a second after Lotus turned, the blade now stuck deep into the demonic ogre's right fist, blood splurted out, the velocity of their fall made the blood dragged upwards instead of dripping down.

The white gun that he held is now pointed at the demonic ogre's head but before he could press the trigger, the demonic ogre grabbed onto his hand that held the gun, with a monstrous grip that would make steel bend like paper. But Lotus remained placid, seeing this, the demonic ogre roared and swung Lotus back like a rag-doll before hurling him away and zooms through the air like a predator chasing its prey, upon closing in on Lotus, the demonic ogre's eyes widened in shock when he lost sight of the human.

An unearthly roar echoes from the demon upon feeling the hellish burn of something slicing through the scales on his back and right into his flesh. Behind the demonic ogre, Lotus pulled out his dagger from the demon's flesh and swiftly avoids a roundhouse kick from it.

The ocean below is fast approaching, he could smell the saltwater already along with blood that had been spilled from the monster he is fighting against. One after another, cuts and gashes formed all around on the demonic ogre's body, with each one followed by ear-deafening scream and wail of otherworldly despair.

It was soon drowned ever so suddenly in bubbles and confined within icy cold water.

Noises were muffled, the water around them turns an opaque red in an instant, tendrils of thick blood floats all around him. There was a disturbance in the water, the demonic ogre began to attack him again in fury, fighting in water has its disadvantages, like in mid-air, their movements are limited, but that only applies to normal humans... the both of them are not normal.

Mystician play an important role in this world, they are one and only defense against monsters that came into this world from the depths of hell. They are the only ones who can fight back... even though they are an anomaly themselves. Created for the sole purpose of hunting down monsters by altering their DNA. Lotus is not even bothered by the fact that he is underwater, punches from the demonic ogre were swiftly deflected.

A clean slice across the demonic ogre's neck, not deep enough to cause any major damage, but just enough to cut its vocal cords, it let out a maddening gurgle before trying to swim away. The water is opaque of red liquid and Lotus floats in the midst of it, unfeeling. But the demonic ogre felt something unnerving. Something repeating in its head, clouding its senses. 'You won't escape, you won't, you can't. You. Will. Die.'

From the corner of its eyes, it saw a flash of bright amethyst orbs and a glint of silver reflected from below. The demonic ogre suddenly came face to face with Lotus once more, who then mouthed: 'Can monsters feel fear?''

One casual upward kick on the demonic ogre's jaw was enough to send it flying in a considerable speed back up to the water's surface. Lotus disappeared in a blink of an eye, no longer within blood-contaminated water. When he appeared again, he is above water, the demonic ogre he had kicked up previously is now frozen within a block of large ice. Lotus could feel its emotions, one of which is fear.

The laws of mortal world do not apply to Mystic. Thus making his way toward the block of ice by walking on water is a simple matter. "My orders are to exterminate you by the killing method you used to kill your previous victims and retrieve your core. Carla Robin, aged 27, was found mangled and her body parts cut off, as well as her vocal cords. You also killed the music teacher who was supposed to be there Adison Willwork and killed him before taking his identity and play the 'witness' so you will not be suspected."

The icy dagger appeared in Lotus's hand once more. "
Shall we begin?"

"You're always so bloody after a mission." Says a younger male currently scrubbing what Lotus learned as 'scrubbing the hell out of him'.

"Can't be helped, there are requirements and dismantlement."

The younger of the two could only sigh and knelt down in front of Lotus who is currently sitting on the couch of their office room, his shirt discarded onto a pile of bloody mess on the floor. "Lotus." He looks at the owner of the name pointedly from behind snow colored hair and Lotus feels as though he is staring right into a vast blue sky hidden within this person's eyes.

Said owner of the name retorted back with: "Aster. You have nothing to worry about. I won't die, I can't. Because I have you to return to."

Aster's eyes widened, a light pink blush creeping up his cheeks, he covered his face with his hands, screaming into his palms. "We're already married but you made me feel like we're dirty little teenagers again!! I call this unfair!!!"

At that moment, a gentle smile could be seen dancing up Lotus's lips. Successfully teasing his husband will always make him want to see more of those adorable reactions. Even if he has to kill a thousand more times, if he could protect this man he is madly in love with, it would be worth it.
