Futuristic Time is Ticking

IceQueen

The Clawed Fauni
Its 2020. Anyone born before was born with a timer, counting the seconds before you meet your soul mate. Some people are sitting on the edge of there seat, waiting until they meet, holding high expectations. Others are totally dreading it. But a specific group of teens have only a short amount of time, because they are going to Ridgewood High, a great academy where all students have something they are good at. Who will your soul mate be?

--------------------------------

Rules

1. Please read all the rules carefully.

2. Remember, the timer fall's off when you first have contact with them. Weather it is eye contact, talking or the touch of the hand, that is all that it takes to make the timer fall off.

3. You can be bisexual/lesbian/gay, but I will have to adjust numbers a bit for it, so we have to have all the right people. Also, put a song that describes her character in the other section.

4. Make diverse characters! Not everyone has to be a sob story. You can have a normal life.

5. Discuss pairs over in the OOC tab, so we don't have confusion. Tell me when you have decided.

6.No Mature romance. I have to stick with the site rules guys.

7. No over cursing. I understand some if your character gets upset.

8. Use music to help you get into the mood your character is in.

9. Have fun.

It's the first day of classes. Everyone is settled into there dorms, and now it's time to meet there classmates!

((Keep in mind, you cannot interact with your soulmate until the timer hits zero and falls off.))

================================

Akira sighed, slamming her fist on the alarm clock next to her. She groaned, sitting up. She put on her glasses, her vision clearing a bit. She sighed, her feet meeting the cold floor. She groaned and looked at her timer. She had 6 days left. Sighing, she walked tot take a shower and came out in a anime shirt, some jeans, a belt loop, and her anime convers. She smiled and picked up her bag, walking out.

================================

Nanami sighed, rolling out of bed. She sniffled a bit, walking towards the bathroom. She looked in the mirror at her face, her eyes where back to normal. She sighed, putting her makeup on, making her face seem to fit in with the rest. She looked at her timer, looking at the time left. She was probably stuck with some jerk that she couldn't stand. She sighed and put on her headphones, taking her bag and walking out of her room.

Hiroshi woke up as he was lazily to go to school, "...." he took his time thinking what remembering what happen yesterday before he went up and go took a bath. After he took the bath, he wore his uniform and cooked for his breakfast and bento. As he cooked, he noticed that his timer start to appear but he gives a pokerface and continue to cook. ".... soulmate?" He wasn't thinking about his soulmate rather a topic for him to write for his next novel which no one would take their time and appreciate since they were to scared by Hiroshi since Hiroshii just beat a group of thugs near the alley recently. After finishing his meal, he stood up and ready to hit another chapter of his life

Mildrith was bored beyond belief. She had absolutely nothing better to do today other than attend her classes. She blew a sigh and glanced at her timer. Her stupid, controlling timer. She wished the time would never end, unfortunately for her, she had but a day left before she meets her 'soulmate.' She stuck out her tongue in disgust. Even the word itself sounds terrible to her, something out of a stupid romance movie. Groaning, she sat up and rubbed her light blue eyes, trying to get out of her sleeping spell. She have to get ready, otherwise, she's going to miss class. Mildrith went sluggishly towards the bathroom and fixed herself up. Once she was squeaky clean, she put on her uniform and went out of her room, a lazy smile adorning her face to start the day. Maybe she can make new friends here, she thought, as she walked down the hall.

--

The blonde sent the alarm flying off towards her vanity mirror, making the glass shatter in a thousand pieces. She groaned and got up, dreading this very day. She knows she isn't always like this, but the clock had rattled her off of her blissful slumber. She had a nice dream, a dream about her and-- well, now is not the time to dawdle on such silly things. Once she was ready, Mimi surveyed herself in front of her broken mirror. She looked alright, the sleep had gone from her. She's wearing her uniform, but instead of the white shirt and grey skirt, she was wearing a bright yellow shirt which matched her nail polish, and a sea green mini skirt. She smiled in satisfaction, and noted that the mirror had to replaced after a day or so. Grabbing her bright blue backpack, she slid out of her room with her usual, cool expression.

Griffin ignored the loud wails of his alarm. Instead, he continued to doze off, ignorant to the world he lives in. After five more minutes of the darned wailing, he got up and turned it off. There were angry poundings and shouts from the dorm rooms next to his, he figured the people inside must have heard his alarm and had been tormented by it minutes ago. He smiled to himself and headed to the bathroom, ready to start the day. The silver haired young man didn't even bother to wear the complete school uniform. Instead, he sported a white v-neck shirt with the school-issued pants and dress shoes. The school's jacket made him stuffy and hot so he decided he can live without it. Ruffling his hair, he got out of his dorm with a yawn. His neighbors got out in time as well, giving him angry glares as they muttered past him. Griffin only smiled and waved, successfully irritating them once again. His timer had read: 1 Day. He wonders who the hell in the vast universe decided to come up with something so stupid, designating them with a chosen person that they have to live with for the rest of their sorry lives. Why not choose for their own? Shrugging the thoughts away, he simply shoved his hands in his pockets and continued walking, hoping he finds his way into class.

Cole's unconscious exploded into sound as her alarm went off, the incessant beeping cutting deep into her brain. She woke up so abruptly, that she rolled completely out of her bed and onto the floor, hitting the wood with a quiet thud. "Ow…" Cole grumbled, sitting up and running a hand through her hair. Grey eyes slowly moved up and towards the school uniform currently draped across the bathroom door. Cole made a low sound, something like a growl mixed with a groan and stood, making her way over to the bathroom.

Brushed teeth and a mangled hairbrush later, she looked somewhat presentable. Cole'd given up early on trying to fully brush her hair, as she

A) got bored very quickly, and B) didn't think it would really help with the mess of grey. Her hair was pretty much in a constant state of naturally messy, and no amount of brushing, washing, or pinning could get it to stay in one spot for long. Besides, she liked the supposed natural look.

Cole grabbed a white shirt and slipped the dark over-coat thing over top, then pulled on a pair of black shorts underneath the skirt. As she walked out the door and down the hall, she glanced down at her timer. "Last day…" She muttered, both excited and anxious to know who her supposed "Soul mate" would be. Cole groaned internally. She hated waiting for things, especially the important, tiny thing that was stuck to her wrist.

"Hmmmm... perhaps I should go with this? Nah, scratch that... How about..." In a dimly lit room, a figure sat, hunched over a desk. It looked like he was planning something. A mad grin consumed his expression, "Yes... THIS IS IT! It's perfect!"

He let out an insane laugh as he rose from his desk. To anyone watching, it would seem like he was some lunatic from an asylum. But in reality, it was something a lot more innocent.

"These lyrics are perfect! Tomorrow's meeting is going to be legendary!"

That's right, in about one day's time, Kotarou was destined to meet his soul mate. He had spent all night writing a song that he would perform to her when he met her. Last night, he was having trouble deciding whether to making the genre smooth calypso or spunky disco. But in the end... he decided on something much spicer.

He rose a fist to the ceiling in triumph followed by a small victory dance. He couldn't wait to meet her. But in the midst of his celebration, an alarm blared to his right causing him to pause. It finally struck him, "Oh crap, I'm going to be late for the first day of school!"

Ariel slowly rose out of bed and lean his back against the backboard of the bed. He put his face in his hands and groaned. It was only 7:00, he totally forgotten that he no longer had to get his sister out of bed, for the fact they no longer lived together. "Only six days," He laughed to himself as he looked at his timer, "Yeah, Right!" He then laid back down to sleep for another half hour. "Who needs school anyways?" Ariel whispered to himself as he snuggled under his blankets. After about an half hour of trying to fall asleep Ariel got out of bed and decided to take shower. Ruffling his hair in a towel, he looked at himself in the mirror. "Damn don't I look fine," As he checked himself out, "I looked pretty fancy in this uniform, but somethings missing!" He grabbed a fake flower pin that his sister gave him and pinned it on the uniform. "Perfect." Ariel grabbed some toast and headed to school. "First Day, here I come!"

Yumiko awoke from her deep slumber. She needed not an alarm to be able to wake up at the same time every day--exactly forty minutes until time. It was as if she had her own body clock. "What a nice day," she exclaimed, as she would every day. Today was the first day of classes, but to her another day of exploration, knowing new things, and adventure, and, well, everything else. She glanced at her timer as she would every day. About a day was left until she would meet her soul mate, and this fact enticed her quite.

I wonder...

She let a thousand thoughts and questions enter her mind, for they were like her companions, and the joy of finding and knowing the answers one by one was a great thing for her. The questions instantly multiplied, and she found herself looking forward to this kind of new start. Feeling a bit of a rush, she hummed a few other songs excitedly, and took a slow, nice, bath. She loved slow nice baths. She didn't hesitate in dressing in her uniform right after doing so. After putting on a blouse, skirt, and blazer... she was finally ready for school.

She rarely looked at herself at the mirror, but this one time she decided to take a peek.
"Hee," she mumbled, smiling widely, then a little calmly. It just occurred to her that this was the first and last day at the same time--for school and meeting her soul mate, consecutively. That was, for her, a great realization. Then again, every realization was that great for her. Stuffing a few sweets (for she loved candy and sweet food) in one of her blazer's pockets, she nodded to herself and went outside, pacing happily through the hall.

Nanami was greeted with stares. She shrugged her bag higher on her shoulder, continuing to walk down the hall. She kept her head up and her gaze forward, pretending that the people weren't moving out of her way in fear of her. She sighed, walking towards her morning practice in the gym. She had PE in the morning, so she was walking over to the gym.

===========================

Akira sighed, glad she had remembered to put in her contacts. She sighed, walking towards her class. She hoped no one was paying attention to her, because she hatted being stared at. To her luck, it seemed there was a girl that was occupying most of every ones attention. She adjusted her beanie and walked to class.

Hiroshi walked towards the school with 20 minutes of walking, he slowly took his time and to enjoy the view of the narrow district. As he arrive at school, he just on the right time to arrive with 5 minutes before the gate are close. "....." he silenced for awhile while staring at the school. He went in, it's not like Hiroshi imagine, the last school he went was really bad in appearance. He went to the faculty office to asked for his class and finally he can go to his new class.

Ariel walked into the school realizing this was his first time, in a long time, to arrive at school on time. After arriving he went into the office to grabbed his papers, to know what classes he had. First class he had was Home Ec. "Guess who gets to lose his finger today," Ariel smiled to himself. Walking into the class, the teacher randomly slapped a sticker on him. "What the heck?" He thought. "A sticker just for you, for the first day," teacher smiled at him. Ariel stood there completely confused. "The names is Miss Ross," the teacher explained to him, "Can you say Miss Ross?" Ariel shook his head and went and sat at a table. He looked at the sticker Miss Ross put on his shirt, "Good Luck?" "Yeah, I'm going to need good luck, if i'm stuck with a lunatic teacher like you!" Ariel Exclaimed to himself as he laid his head on the table.

Kotarou felt his adrenaline spike as he sprinted down the street. He turned just narrowly dodging a rather unpleasant biker who then gave him the finger. But he ignored it as he ran by, he really couldn't afford the be late on the first day of school.

As the school came into sight, he watched as the gates closed before him. With a weary grin, Kotarou sighed. Looks like he would have to make a detour. He dashed around the corner before tensing his legs and springing up, just barely grabbing a hold of the school's wall. After hoisting himself up, he lept over the wall, landing in the courtyard.

Students passing by couldn't help but stare. K0tarou's eyes were bloodshot from his all nighter while his hair and clothes were mangled from all that running. In short, he was a mess. He must have looked like a wild animal after leaping the wall. But Koutarou didn't care as he entered the school and made his way to his first class.

~~~
"Kotarou? Is Koutarou Kouki here?" The Home Ec teacher placed a hand on her hip as she surveyed the room. But just at that moment, the person she was looking for came barrelling through the door.
Desperate for air, he gasped, " Koutarou Kouki *gasp* here."
"Oh good, you're here. You can take a seat right over there." She pointed at the seat next to some guy who had his face planted on his desk.
All too ready to get some rest, Kotarou collapsed in his seat next to the awkward kid.
( I guess everyone's going to Home Eco. sooooooooo-- )
Griffin had passed by the same tree three times in a row by now. If he's not going crazy, then he must be going in circles. Shaking his head, he sighed in frustration. "Well I'm always late before anyway. Maybe no one will notice me," he thought as he decided to give up after a few more detours. That's when he realized he's going into a new school. "Dammit," he cursed, as he continued walking around. "Uhm," a timid voice came from his left. A young woman with short black hair, clad in a school uniform was looking at him. "School's that way," she said while pointing to the corner not far from him. "Why hadn't I checked that before?" he mumbled as he walked past her. The woman huffed, realizing that he didn't even bother to offer a thank you. "You're welcome! Jerk!" she shouted after him. "Didn't ask for your help anyway!" Griffin replied.
As he had expected, the gate was already closed. Griffin however knows how to go past it, considering his experience being a late comer. Sometimes, that left him wondering if that was a good thing, or a bad thing. Or maybe a little bit of both. Finding his grip on tiny nicks on the wall, he had successfully found his way inside of the institution. This time he knows where he's heading. He was smart enough to bring a trusty map of the school compound with him. Why hadn't he bought a map of the entire place and not waste all that time walking? He shook the thoughts away and hurried to his first class, Home Eco.
Everyone was already seated and present when he had arrived. The teacher glared at him as he raised his hands in surrender and inevitable defeat. "I yield!" he said, before she could say anything as he took a seat next to someone he doesn't know. Why is he here anyway? Cooking is the last thing he'd be caught doing. In fact, he'd rather hack his hands off than spend the first day in class doing something utterly boring.
"Ah, good morning!~"
Yumiko walked through the hallway, and another, and another, and out of the dormitory and into the school's halls.
"Woah..."
"There's Itami-senpai!"
"She's pretty cute, huh?"
Numerous amounts of fellow students waved and greeted at the girl, and she did so back. This was already some kind of routine that she never got tired of, one ever since her first year. It was so nice to be out every day, for her. Despite some who hated and disliked her immensely (but would still be unconsciously ignored by her), there were so much other people who liked and admired her, and those were enough to make her days brighter.
She glanced at her timer for what seemed to be the umpteenth time, with sky-blue eyes full of curiosity, elation and wonder. In not less than two days, she knew, she would meet this mysterious being who is labelled to be her soul mate. Knowing the different personalities of people, Yumiko's mind couldn't resist from adding more and more questions. They let them come and go as she pleased. If it were someone else, they may have gone crazy with the load of things in their mind. But since she was a child, Yumiko learned to be able to be free with all of those. After all, she was naturally curious. It was like she was born with it.
Her first class for the day was P.E, she knew.
After changing into her gym clothes with the other girls in her class--which also consisted of chatting and body-size comparing, which she couldn't ever get away from--she headed for the gym. While walking, she saw a seemingly-familiar girl that nearly everyone--if not all--seemed to be avoiding.
"Why is everyone..." she muttered, and one student beside her looked over and spoke.
"Oh, Yumiko! Well... There are many reasons," he shrugged.
A few moments lasted as Yumiko watched the pink-haired girl pass by.
Like her cuteness?, she thought, before walking towards her first class. It seemed that the other girl was headed for the gym too.
Nanami sighed, her P.E. clothes fitting snugly to her frame. She had tucked in her shirt because today was trampoline. She held her head high and walked into the gym, waving at the teacher before heading for an intricate set of trampolines that she was practicing on. She began to warm up, flexing her legs and making sure she was loosened up before walking onto the trampoline and starting her routine.
