The big character sheet thread for this reboot. Hopefully I've piqued your interest as of now, if you followed this link from the interest check (If not, you can find more details here: Thesta Penitentiary for the Wicked: The Reboot). A quick reminder about the rules regarding character creation, along with a few extras and the layout for what I want to know at the minimum:
  • Face claims are the priority method of telling how your character looks, second best is a well-written paragraph if you prefer.

  • I won’t be too picky if you don’t get too deep with backstories now, but it should come out in some way, be it now at stage 1 or in-RP.

  • Locations of origin can be fictional or real; I won’t be too picky about that. Thesta, for instance, is fictional simply for my own convenience of creation.

  • Don’t feel pressured into making an inmate if there’s too many guards, or vice-versa; we can make NPC ones on the fly if need be. You are free to be a guard or inmate, whatever you feel like playing as.

  • Doubling+ is allowed (you don’t have to, but I have no issue with it) as long as you can keep all of your characters progressing and functioning. No leaving anyone behind.

  • The RP setting is ‘modern/urban fantasy’, if you’d like to call it that. Technology and fantasy abilities, as well as non-human beings are welcome, so long as it’s all within reason. See below for more detail of what’s allow and what’s not.

  • Your power must have a counter/weakness/inhibitor. No situations where ‘nothing can kill you’ (no duh).

  • Similarly (and obviously), you cannot force a character that is not yours into a damaged, near-death, or actual death situation without the approval of the victim’s owner.

  • [Inmates only] Your power must be able to be contained by some sort of ‘inhibitor’. It can be a bracelet, collar, anklet, drug, slight adaptation to the prison uniform, or any other type of device to prevent the inmate from taking full advantage of his/her powers. Some powers can stay active as long as they are harmless (they can’t even so much as scratch someone)

  • [Inmates only] Your crimes must be REASONABLE. In the past rendition, a few extreme crimes were allowed to slide, but not any longer. Keep your kills within reason (more than in the hundreds is really pushing it), and don’t do anything borderline unthinkable (no destroying an entire planet or anything like that, remember, we’re not gods)

  • [Inmates only] All inmate characters are to be newcomers; nobody’s been in the prison for a while upon the starting date of the RP. It can make for players having an edge, even though it can forge bonds between newbies and old timers. Let’s keep it safe here.

  • [Guards only] Guards don’t have to be newly employed, but they can if you would like.

  • [Guards only] Ranks for guards are first come first serve, though they won’t be specified now and won’t all be required to be filled (as we can work with what we get). Obviously, the highest form of power is the Warden, who I will be assuming myself. [UPDATE: A head of security is being made by myself as well]

  • [Guards only] You have the choice of having powers or not, but if you do, do note that even though your powers aren’t inhibited in any way, you’re not invincible either and, like any other mortal, have weaknesses.

  • [Guards only] You have a responsibility to uphold the prison guidelines. I understand corruption is a thing in prison, and that’s fine, but when we are in a lockdown situation, do not leave everyone hanging and not solve the problem.

  • What powers you CANNOT use for the sake of avoiding powergaming/godmodding (not limited to these, so if I say no, it means no and you should change your ability):
    • Invincibility/Immortality (direct or indirect)
    • One-hit kill/insta-kill type powers
    • Probability/RNG-based powers (this was a concern brought up to me in the past rendition of the RP, now addressed and properly put in its place; if your power depends on a random chance, no matter how good the chance is, drop it)
    • Non-physical beings (no dark matter, ash, mist, plasma, void, or any sort of characters like that; as a rule of thumb: if there is a stage of the character’s ability in which you cannot touch them at all, it’s not allowed)
    • Omniscience (you cannot be all-knowing)
  • Examples of what you can use along with restrictions (not limited to these examples, you may pitch your own and I will determine if it needs further restrictions or specifications):
    • Character whose power is related to a god/demon/immortal being (be very specific about restrictions in this power, and the immortal being cannot directly intervene or permanently raise a character from the dead. Please go into details of what you can/can’t do to avoid too heavily dominating the scene, and do note that if your character is an inmate, you cannot be the divine entity itself. There is one divine being for Thesta’s personnel, Pisha, whose role will be stated in the full description of the prison)
    • Invisibility (it has to be partial, very minimal, and it cannot extend to what you’re touching. Reaching inside a wall with part of your arm, for example, is okay. Phasing through it entirely is not.)
    • Shapeshifting (nothing too freaky like a massive six-headed dragon with a wrecking ball for a tail… it must be to something real and mortal and cannot make you indestructible)
    • Flight (must be temporary, it cannot allow you to fly out of the prison or keep you out of the range of punishment or anything like that)
    • Mind-control (keep it temporary with the possibility for repercussions, and you cannot do anything too drastic like take control of the Warden’s mind and commit suicide. Just use your common sense: if you have to ask if you can do it, then you probably shouldn’t.)
    • Mind-reading (My character will have this, for instance, and he’ll have restrictions about how long he can do it and when he can as well.)
    • Non-human characters (Nothing too oversized or unruly; keep the height limit at 10 feet/3 meters, and they have to be somewhat civilized no matter how much of a cold-blooded killer they are)
    • Elemental/wieldable abilities (fire, electricity, ice, water, whatever have you… You MUST be inhibited at all times. No one walks around without being inhibited no matter who you are. Once again, we had this issue before in the past rendition)
    • Usage of tech/magic (Nothing that instakills or breaks the entire RP or stops progression or makes someone untouchable, obviously)
  • This applies to both inmates and guards, but please limit yourself to one scope of abilities. We don’t need a mind-reading, fire-bending, shape-shifting centaur on our hands.

  • If you receive a like/emote from me or the co-GM ( firebright24 firebright24 ), then you’re accepted and you will receive a link to the Discord server in DM’s. I highly encourage being in this to be up-to-date with all things related to the RP and for ease of contact (not to mention we can all have some fun on our downtime as friends). Neither of us bite; we're both super friendly and will happily answer any questions you have about the roleplay, now or later.

  • Do note that either me or the co-GM reserves the right to give feedback and possibly reject a character or ask for changes. We have no set limit, but when we set it, it's first come first serve.

Special Ability/Power:
Jasper possess the ability to read minds as well as send messages to the minds of others, though the ability is not entirely absolute. He can only read someone's mind and send messages if he can physically see the person (not an image of them). He can implant voices in the minds of his subjects, but only voices that he's heard before. A signature method he has to subdue a target is to send a high-pitched ear-piercing screech into the their mind, forcing them to cover their ears from the pain and lose concentration/train of thought. This method can be lethal if prolonged, but if Jasper overuses his ability without a proper rest in between, he can induce an agonizing migraine on himself, which is what makes him use his ability rather sparingly.

Weakness/Inhibitor:
Going for too long reading minds and passing on telepathic messages, as mentioned before, can cripple Jasper with a severe migraine, and can even cause his eyes and nose to bleed if he pushes further (something he's never tried to date). There exists, however, a serum that can be injected into his bloodstream to hinder his entire ability - with this, he cannot send messages to others at all, and all he can hear from reading the minds of others is a light, indiscernible hum. He can still interpret tone and mood from this hum, but he can't make out exact words. This serum's potent ability lasts about 20 to 24 hours, so each day, Jasper needs to be injected again to avoid his powers coming back at full force. His injection times are scheduled at 11:30 PM daily. The serum's only side effect is drowsiness, which is why it's given just before the prisoners' lights-out period.

Crime They've Committed:
Jasper once had a job working under the high Filincian court for a high-rise judge that he was only permitted to call Judge DuClarke. He was first employed by the judge upon the discovery of his unique ability to read the minds of others and deceive them through sending his telepathic messages. His power was used for the greater good, seated in a separate room to overlook trials held under the law of Filincia through a courthouse window, and reading the minds of witnesses who take the stand and public defenders arguing for their clients, as well as the convicts themselves. His information would be passed down to Judge DuClarke and, in the end, have an impact on the final ruling by the judge. His work has put several criminals behind bars and, overall, made Filincia a safer place to live, all while keeping his identity hidden from those he is responsible for incarcerating, and paying him handsomely for his honest work.
Jasper's life couldn't be more ideal, and all for good reason, until one session: his fraternal twin sister Tali, who'd been convicted of serial theft. As he watched over his employer Judge DuClarke, who'd treated him so well from the beginning, the judge began to hear a loud ringing sound piercing through his ears midway through the trial. As he called for a recess, he collapsed to the ground, bleeding from his ears, eyes, and nose, the ringing in his bed slowly but surely shutting the judge's brain down entirely. Fully aware of the scope of his abilities, the officials in the Filincian government immediately pointed the finger at Jasper for killing his employer in an attempt to throw away the trial and let his sister walk.
...And walk she did, with no sufficient evidence to pronounce her guilty, while Jasper landed himself a guilty sentence for the murder of a high-ranking Filincian official, and a 50 year sentence to Thesta Penitentiary. Not willing to wait 50 years, and with all of his past resources from Filincia gone, Jasper knew what he had to do: escape and prove his innocence.

Backstory:
Born and raised in Filincia, Jasper Bent knows this region more than any other region in his life and never really left. It was a relatively peaceful place where he'd come from a [for the most part] loving family and a good neighborhood. Coming from normal parents with no powers and being a relatively quiet person throughout his education, nobody would expect Jasper to be the one who'd develop superpowers of any sort. He discovered this ability in a way that seemed like a disease at first but eventually was discovered to be a gift. While in his later years of schooling at the age of 15, Jasper began to hear voices in his mind that were not his own. Frightened and unable to control his abilities, he continued to listen in to the voices of random kids in his class until his mind couldn't take it and he developed a migraine and nosebleed as a result. The doctors originally diagnosed this as an isolated incident and prescribed pills for Jasper, but the voices didn't stop. It wasn't until a conversation with a friend in which he 'guessed' the friend's current thoughts based on the voices he was hearing. To his surprise, he was spot on. It was then that young Jasper realized the potential of his gift: mind reading, and much more.
For days to come, Jasper would take to the capital of Filincia to the town square, watching passersby, and reading minds as if it were for sport, entertaining himself with the wild and unusual thoughts that'd come his way. In the process of this fun activity, he realized a much more sinister side to his gift: the ability to send his own messages from his mind to someone else's. Upon discovering this fact, 16 year old Jasper, juvenile and carefree, began to use it in the way any other prankster might: sending random messages to these bystanders, watching their confused reactions, and getting a kick out of it in the process. His prank experimentation lead to the discoveries of how far his power exactly works: how long he could go without a migraine, what sort of messages he could send, what voices he could use, and to what extent can he read minds and send messages. Quite incredible in his mind...
...up until he was 18 and accidentally sent a rather lewd message into the mind of a Filincian political official. Not being far from the scene and quickly detected as a matching voice for the callout, even if it wasn't allowed, Jasper was arrested and taken for interrogation, in which he came clean about his powers and what could be done with them. Taking pity on a young kid fresh out of his studies and slipping up so mildly, the official dropped all charges against Jasper on one condition: that he serves under the high courts of Filincia to find justice for those who had been wronged by reading the minds of those in court, to find the truth when it's out of plain sight, hidden away in the darkness of the minds of others. And to avoid the arrest going on his record, Jasper agreed.
For the next 6 years, Jasper served under Judge DuClarke to close several cases of crime in Filincia and bring many of its known criminals to justice. In that time around a man of wisdom like DuClarke, he also grew as a person and matured beyond his past juvenile ways. No more pranking, but rather studying, reading, solving mysteries through his work... the young child with powers became a respectable man of the law, though one who worked in the shadows, he was compensated well, and earned the appreciation of his family, especially after seeing his twin sister Tali run away from home at the age of 18, never to return...
Until she finally did in DuClarke's courtroom years later, about to be found guilty of serial theft, and Jasper wasn't going to hold back in his logs, as disgusted as he was of his sister's wrongdoings. But it wasn't until Judge DuClarke fell dead in his quarters in a similar manner that he'd discovered was lethal: the loud high-pitched noise in his brain. And instantly, the finger was pointed at Jasper, as there was no way to prove that Tali possessed the same powers as her brother, and it was the last thing on this brother's mind when he tried to defend himself.
Jasper was deemed a traitor to Filincia for his actions, and, bearing a destructive power as his own, needed a proper facility to rehabilitate him for his lengthy setting. No other than Thesta Penitentiary to do that.

Other:
Jasper has an odd habit of humming to cover up his attempts at mind-reading to seem inconspicuous, yet nobody could possibly know without being upfront told. He also has a soft spot for feeling the same emotions that his subject is feeling as he reads their mind.​

Special Ability/Power:
Unbeknownst to the board of corrections in Thesta, his family, and to the personnel and inmates in his penitentiary, the warden possesses the ability to drop his body temperature, be it a part of his body or the whole thing, to low temperatures that approach the likes of absolute zero, freezing whatever he comes into contact with while in this state. His core body temperature sits at 21 degrees Celsius and thrives that way, unlike a normal human being. His normal unmodified touch, as a result, is a bit chilly, and isn't warmed easily by the of a living being. His powers are sexually transmitted.

Weakness/Inhibitor:
Hot temperatures are Edward's weakness. He can't activate his powers if he has a fever (which, for him, is room temperature, 25 degrees Celsius) or is near hot devices like a furnace, fireplace, or source of intense light. Effectively, he can be burned alive rather quickly. Throw him into the fire, and he'll quite literally melt if he's not brought back into a freezer soon enough. His skin has some properties of ice, but in such a way that he can be cracked, but not shattered entirely. At least not with ease.

Backstory:
Edward's early life in Thesta was quite standard for any child of his time: get a standard education until the age of 16, then go fight for his homeland. At the time period of his adolescence (40-45 years ago), Filincia was a part of Thesta, and, in an attempt for independence, rebels under Thestian power decided to fight for their own independence, believing in their own ideology and law. With a clean divide in the population, the rebels began to call themselves the "Independent State of Filincia", and began to treat the inland of Thesta as their own. This started a war that lasted five years until an agreement to segment Thesta and Filincia was settled upon. Edward Brookes fought in this war at 16, and won a series of medals for bravery and selflessness. He is deemed a young hero of the time.
After his years of service at the end of the war, Edward found himself a job as an investigator, still serving the Thestian government, where he worked to bust the guilty and acquit the innocent. In his job, he found the supposed love of his life, Maria, during one of his investigations, and eventually had a daughter, Samantha, in the year of their marriage. All sweet, right?
Not quite.
During his work, Edward, now 35, took up a job for the ruler of Thesta to track down a man who'd allegedly raped his daughter, Sophia, also known as the "Ice Princess of Thesta" because of her unique gift to drop her body or part of it to a temperature close to absolute zero and freeze things upon touch, an inexplicable birth bestowing upon her a gift that no other had in the colder parts of Thesta. Upon looking into the case, Edward had discovered that this was all a huge lie; there was no rape, and Sophia was nothing more than a temptress looking to get in bed with an older man like Investigator Brookes, blackmailing him with the threat of going public and ruining his marriage. And, in a rut in his sexual relationship with his wife, he accepted. Edward left the case unsolved for years just to keep seeing Sophia until his wife had discovered that he'd been staying around this rape case for so long... then she found the expensive gifts he'd been giving her, therefore, ruining his marriage by his own hand. Maria quickly separated from Edward, uninterested in knowing who his mistress was.
But this were only going to get worse: the same year of the separation, Thesta was about to go to war once again, and lead by Sophia, who was working for Filincian officials to overtake Thesta - a reverse in ownership with the perfect inside woman. It didn't take long for the uprising to be brought to a halt and peace to be re-established between Thesta and Filincia, but it did come at a price: the execution of the ruler's daughter. Hesitant at first, but the heartless king eventually accepted, and Sophia was murdered through being burnt alive. With her powers and ice-like qualities, she melted with no shred of her left to be saved.
All of this happening while Edward began to develop Sophia's unique qualities and abilities, as well as her weaknesses. What she'd failed to tell him was that her powers were sexually-transmitted. He couldn't go public with the truth about his powers, or else he'd be linked to Sophia and potentially executed as well.
In an attempt to move on, Edward parted from his investigative work and, instead, pursued a life dedicated to keeping bad people like Sophia locked up for good. It is that reason that he worked to establish Thesta Penitentiary with as secure of a system as it is - to house dangerous individuals like his past lover was as he tries to become a better man, win his wife back, and put this undesired gift of his behind him for good.

Other:
Edward refuses to visit a doctor for humans due to his abnormal form of homeostasis, so whenever he is unwell, he has a private medic who knows about his condition and swore not to tell of it.
Edward's affair is public knowledge; the fact it is with Sophia is a secret. Even his private doctor doesn't know how he developed his powers. If his involvement with the Ice Princess of Thesta is made public, Edward could face the death penalty under Thestian law, have his medals revoked, and forever be regarded as a 'traitor'
Edward's office has no heating, and is therefore freezing when you walk in.

Her birth name is Scarlett Felis, but she has no documents (eg. birth certiicate) so it's not listed and she outright refuses to use it. It's the only thing she remembers from her childhood, and just hearing it will make her scream and clap her hands over her ears. She goes by the name "Silver Ferae" but some people just call her Si. She dislikes this, but it won't provoke a violent reaction like being called Scarlettt. She did tell the authorities her real name, so it's what's marked on her file. But it's better to call her Silver because she will majorly freak out if you refer to her as Scarlett.

19...Ish. Her exact birth date is unknown, because as mentioned, no documentation.

Physical Appearance:
Silver is actually pretty tall for a woman, standing at five foot and nine inches tall, with a slender, willowy build like a gymnast or dancer (But is a DD cup size, go figure). She has albinism, which is one of the main reasons for the name she chose for herself, as her messy waist length hair is a light shade of greyish white that could be called silver. It has a tendency to wave slightly, especially towards the ends, that are slighter lighter. Her skin is quite pale, with a complete absence of melanin (that's what albinism is after all). Her eyes are a brilliant shade of ruby red, with cat like slitted pupils.

And that's only where the similarities to cats start. In her favoured form, Silver has silver cat ears that darken to a dark grey at the tufted tips, and a tail that also has a dark gey tip. Her teeth are very much pointed, capable of tearing through flesh even when she's inhibited from accessing her full power. No matter what animal form she takes, she always has silver fur/ scales / etc and scarlet eyes.

Place of Birth:
The forest of Tsha [Fictional]. A vast pine forest, blisteringly cold in winter, sweltering hot in summer, it's a haven for wildlife and nature, with human villages scattered few and far between.

Sexuality:
Silver has a very limited understanding of sex and romance but she's most likely bisexual.

Personality:
In many ways, Silver Ferae could be considered to be a child. She's never really been around other people before, so her skills of communication are ... limited, to say the least. She's very easily tricked, and has difficulty following large conversations, especially if they involve big words but she always tries her hardest! She's very talkative and friendly, with a naivete and innocence that draws others to want to protect her and keep her safe. One almost wonders how she ended up in such a place.

And then, one sees her record, sees the pictures of corpses torn to shreds, and the 'sweet' girl, when asked about it, laughing as if their death amuses her... It's enough to make someone sick. She has fifty-three confirmed kills over the course of three years, though there could be more that were attributed to wild animals. When angered, she is vicious - though there's nothing truly sadistic or malicious in her nature.

It's more like she simply doesn't understand that what she's doing is wrong. She woke up alone in the forest at the age of seven, with no memories except a name she couldn't even speak aloud without feeling as if she'd been sucker punched in the gut with feelings that she couldn't describe. Most 'normal' children would have died of starvation. But not her. She was determined and more than that... She was an animal. She knew how to survive, by hunting and devouring her prey raw. Humans were just another food source added to the list, though she only discovered they were indeed edible at the age of sixteen. She views humans as the same as any other animal, though this view can start to change as the rp progresses. She's fascinated with the people and strange new things around her - even if she can't stand the sensation of feeling trapped.

Likes:
Food. She loves to eat, mostly meat as she previously existed mostly in animal form, spending very little time as a (part) human. Her favourite animal forms are mostly carnivores, so she survived on meat only diets. So now, she regards veggies with some sucspicion and is a bit hesitant to try cooked meat. But sweets... The second she tried a sweet food for the first time, she was hooked. She'd sell her soul for cake. She does eat humans, preferring the heart, liver and thighs over the other pieces.

She likes to take naps - catnaps - in the sunshine. She just loves the warmth of it, though she mostly prefers to do this in animal form as her pale skin burns easily and she's incapable of tanning because of her albinism.

Animals of all kinds. Herbivores she would probably kill if she was feeling peckish, but she respects other carnivores, especially cats. Even small, weak animals can be her friends if she's not hungry, and it probably won't be uncommon to see her trying to make friends with a mouse.

Dislikes:
Silver hates the cold. And that hate is amplified now that she can't just become an animal equipped with warm fluffy fur. She doesn't like it, especially as it affects her even worse than normal people - her species have very high body temperatures (so feel free to cuddle her to use her as a heater) so the cold can actually make them very ill, if they don't take measures to avoid it. Like becoming very fluffy.

Being restrained. Silver is very claustrophobic, having panic attacks and prone to violence when she is in small spaces. It seems to be an instinctual fear, like that of a wild animal in a trap. Chains, ropes and muzzles send her wild, devoid of all reasoning, full of fear and desperation... (Please take any opportunity to restrain her. It shall be funny)

Water. She can somewhat handle warm water, and she is quite a clean person (even though she won't bother trying to wash the blood off of herself when she kills). But she'll try to be in and out of a shower etc as quickly as possible. And she is terrified of deep water. She can't swim at all, and is too scared to even attempt to transform into a marine animal. The further she is away from water, the happier she is.

Special Ability/Power (if any):
Silver is completely nonhuman. Her species has a very literal name, basically summing up what they do - ShapeShifters. They're very rare, as until recently they were classed as 'subhuman', basically animals and were often hunted. Which is why Silver ended up alone at such a young age. She can turn into any animal she's seen (this includes fantasy creatures if they exist in this world, but they put enormous strain on her body), except insects and marine animals.

Her inability to become a marine animal is due to her intense fear of water, and insects require much practice and she's never really tried to hone her gift. She turns into animals, it keeps her alive and safe, it does what she needs it to do... She's happy. She has no intention to learn a way to use her power more effectivel. She can stay as a mundane animal for an indefinte amount of time, as she's just being a natural animal. She could chose to just live as an animal. Before, she could shift quite a lot in a short space of time, but as she spends longer unable to use her powers, in captivity, it will get harder even when she can use them, her speed in Shifting and her fatigue afterwards will increase from no fatigue to ready to pass out after shifting twice. She has limited communication with animals (enough to get basic sentiments across like "i'm not going to eat you")

Weakness/Inhibitor:
Silver - and all shapeshifters of her type - cannot shift while in contact with electrum, a naturally occurring (though it can be manmade) alloy of silver and gold. It burns their skin and holds them in one shape, and they are weakened from prolonged contact with it. Her inhibitor is a small cuff tight around her left wrist made of electrum, but if that proves ineffective there are plans for a collar. It doesn't stop her animal communication though. But there's probably no animals but rats in Thesta penn. anyways, so that's not important.

After misbehaviour or other such things that could suggest she's more likely to lash out, there is a procedure to effectively muzzle her, as her normal form has fangs capable of severely maiming - perhaps even killing - someone. People have tried to file them down, but have so far been unsuccesful.

Backstory:
Her parents (and twin brother and younger sister) were brutally slaughtered when she was seven, and the trauma has been completely blacked out from her mind. She remembers nothing from before that moment, except her name. (Her older brother is actually alive, but she doesn't know he exists and he doesn't know she's alive and he probably won't show up in this because he's too Soft to go anywhere near a prison. He'd cry). At the age of sixteen, she started murdering people, and at first the attacks were attributed to animals, but then they started finding signs that something with human intelligence was behind the murders. And then it wasn't long before a trap with an electrum net caught our unsuspecting shapeshifter.

Other:
- Silver loves art. Before, she could only draw in the dirt with her fingers but now, any opportunity to get a pen, pencil, crayons etc (she'd die for paint) is taken. She has immense natural talent, though her sketches are very scruffy because she's never been able to practice. She's very good at drawing plants and animals and is slowly getting better at people. She also draws on herself, normally stars and constellations, all over her legs and arms.

Lower half Is all eight legs and body of a spider minus the head which is where her human hips join. She has two smaller legs at the front which resemble the initial shape of human legs without anything below the ankles, but really are just mandible type spider limbs made of the same exoskeleton. Her forearms and hands are also covered in her black exoskeleton.
In total, her spider portion is six feet tall and ten feet long from end to end, While her human half is about four feet tall from hip to top of the head.

Special Ability/Power: She is a Drider, so she is larger and stronger than any normal human. Her legs and exoskeleton hands are sharp enough to cut very finely, and she has fangs which inject her fatal venom. She also possesses untrained dark magic innate in her, and has even once summoned and shot a particularly deadly obsidian bolt from a bow after forging both. She can speak to any insects and arachnids of the sort and can bend shadows slightly even without having trained that skill.

Weakness/Inhibitor: Though stronger, she is not a juggernaut. She can be overpowered by a group of professionals, and she is too timid to usually attack. By applying essentially mittens and covers to her legs tips and hands, along with a guard around her mouth, she becomes physically incapable of doing more than pushing. She also can be kept in absolutely lit areas and devoid of bugs which keep her abilities limited. The biggest inhibitor is she is simply a pushover, never attacking anyone and always in good behavior and cooperating with her guards. They might put a heavy shock collar on her if they take her anywhere new due to her size but as a precaution.

Crime They've Committed: Multiple homicides and burglary. The judge ruled in favor of this rather than self-defense due to her species being dangerous. She was provoked and attacked but that never was accepted by the courts. The burglaries were also something she was forced into, but the other culprits were murdered.

Backstory: Kala was discovered in South America at supposedly only 2, and after some selecting of a proper host a couple soon took the child home to take care of her. After six years they gave her to an adoption agency, realizing they couldn't handle such a creature due to fear and paranoia of just her being. Soon she was running through many foster homes, and eventually, at eighteen she was released into the public as an adult. She tried working some normal jobs, but no one would hire her. Eventually, she was sheltered by a gang in a bad side of the city, and they forced her to pay for her staying by making her the getaway since she could scale walls at speeds of 25 mph easily. After multiple robberies, a drunken fight turned sour as one turned on her and shouting obscenities. Before she knew it she had bitten him trying to keep him from baching in her head, and before she knew it she was fighting to keep everyone else from trying to do the same. After six deaths and blood coated claws, the battered and horrified spider called the police on herself, offering no resistance. The one thing she repeated over and over was she didn’t remember anything after the bite, claiming she blacked out.

Backstory:
Rumored to have been on two tours since she was 18, then suddenly her record becomes a lit more restricted. Known only to the Warden, she was part of a special operations unit designed to kill unruly paranormals. She has a kill count containing a number of archmages and demons, her equipment being the only limiter of her abilities. She is also working with a demon, able to summon them when needed, but they are not contracted. Pisha, the void demon, is simply a retired squad mate who was her partner for most of her service in her unit. She rarely calls on her and that works for the lazy void demon.

Special Ability + its Weaknesses/Limitations:
Valerie has the power of seduction and suggestion on her side. With a simple swipe of her full hand over a victim's face, from forehead to chin, she casts a spell over him/her to obey her commands. This power is mostly a seduction which causes the victim to admire Val for the time that it lasts and, therefore, obey her to please her/gain her approval. Think the Purple Man/Kilgrave from old Marvel comics, but with an added step and more limitations.
The ability is one that comes from a desire to satisfy her own libido, and will go to lengths of borderline, temporary hypnosis to do so. It comes from an unnoticed mutation that goes back 100 years in her mother's bloodline due to a relationship with a demon that ended in the demon bestowing a curse on Val's great great grandmother. It is an ability that can't be noticed in a child until puberty, and whose abilities and requirements manifest at the age of 18. It is a mutation only present in women, and, fortunately, isn't sexually transmitted. Men do not manifest the same symptoms, making one possibility to end the curse to rid the world of all of Val's female family members and to simply avoid having a girl.
Do note that even though the nature of the spell is for a sexual end, the spell/commands that follow don't have to lead to sex. She can enforce order upon an inmate and force them to into submission and later into solitary easily.
The nature of this ability prevents her from directly inflicting harm upon her subject. Val cannot order someone to do harm to or kill him/herself, or enter a situation that might cost him/her livelihood. She can order a subject to fight someone else, but cannot order the subject to kill his/her opponent; moreover, if the subject becomes too weak or injured in combat or whatever reason, the spell wears off. Similarly, if the subject falls asleep or unconscious, the spell wears off.
Val can only cast her spell on one subject at a time, and the effect of her spell typically only lasts five minutes, which is immediately followed by a 1-hour cooldown. The time limit can be bypassed if she remains in physical contact with the subject after the five minutes expire, but once any part of her body is out of contact with the subject, the spell ends and the cooldown begins.
Val can't cast the spell on amputees, the deaf, or the blind. This is due to the related sense or limb that she can't take advantage of, and therefore, the spell fails entirely.
Val cannot leave the subject's line of sight, or else the spell will expire. She must be physically present at all times to initiate and maintain the seduction.
Being a power whose effect at the core is of sexual attraction/seduction, if the spell leads Val and the subject to sexual intercourse, once Val is satisfied, the spell ends no matter what.
Val's heart is also tied to her own fertility and libido. Despite her lineage, she is still just a human at the end of the day, and once she becomes infertile, her heart will begin to wear out and grow weaker day by day. She is not expected to live past the age of 50, much like her mother, grandmother, sister, and other female family members.
As a follow-up, her survival while fertile is based off of her thrilling drive to mate. As a result of an insatiable sex drive, she has to have intercourse at least once a week to avoid the aforementioned heart deterioration. If the desire/thrill is left unfulfilled, she will grow weak day by day until her entire body shuts down. She has experienced the effects of this weakness and has made the connection to avoid it.
The longer she goes without her "fix", the more she craves it and the more irrational and irritable she becomes to satisfy the urge.
She has been in talks with a scientist to develop a cure, though no success yet. She has discovered that a mild sensation of pain nullifies her abilities entirely. Whenever she needs to suppress the urges and abilities, she wears a tight metal cuff around her forearm. Uncomfortable, but its a temporary solution that suppresses the primal urges that her survival depends on. She has also found out that alcohol helps hold off the urges, but since she can't show up to work in that sort of condition, she sticks to the brace.
The prisoners and prison staff are unaware of much of the limitations to Val's ability. All that is known is that she can force inmates into compliance and submission with the sweep of her hand over their face, as well as her unique skills in winning a fight.
Although it is not a superpower, Valerie is also an expert markswoman and a great CQC fighter.

Backstory:
Valerie's curse dates back 5 generations before her, in which a demon known as Shaz took up physical form and engaged in a long term sexual relationship with an unsuspecting woman named Meredith - Val's great great grandmother. It didnt take long for Meredith to want to end things, still unaware of the true nature of Shaz. After declining his wishes to have her back three times, he revealed himself in true demon form, but instead of devouring her, he altered her biology and left her pregnant with a baby girl (100% human, no demon blood in her) who would share the same mutation: one that would leave her and her descendents craving Shaz's lust for eternity, but also gifting them with the ability to sway minds and seduce for their own personal gain, however thry wish to go about it. A blessing and a curse.
100 years pass, and the curse still lives on with no cure. Val knows very little about the demon's curse but is slowly piecing it together on her own time. The abilities didnt show in childhood or adolescence, making her first 18 years completely normal like any other girl.
Until she went to college, when she began to feel the weakness due to her unsatisfied craving. It wasn't until she unknowingly discovered her abilities in a week 1 one night stand, as her palm grazed his face and he instantly became her slave in bed... that is, until she let go of him.
In shock, Val shared her discovery with her roommate and slowly began experimenting with what she can and cant do. She soon put together the extent of the ability as well as the urges inside her that were imperative to her own survival. Her urges soon became too much for her to handle, so she dropped out of college in year 1 and found work as an escort for two years. It went well and netted her plenty of money, until she found a new opportunity to possibly do good in the world rather than keep risking getting caught: newly established Thesta Penitentiary, now hiring.
With that, 21 year old Val signed up for the training academy and proved herself as a fighter and a peacemaker to Warden Brookes. Years passed with her satisfying her urges by night and keeping unruly crooks in order by day, and in time, she found herself holding a position as the head of security and the Warden's most trusted.
Val still seeks to find a cure for her urges, working with a member of the prison's R&D department to get to the bottom of whats wrong with her and how to fix it before her time expires.

Other:
Surprisingly, Val has never fallen pregnant in her past sexual escapades. She has also never had a sustainable relationship due to her ability getting in the way of remaining loyal to one single partner.
Val uses her brace to restrain herself in front of co workers and the Warden, but not on duty or off time.
She is also 100% immune to all STDs.

Weakness/Inhibitor:
  • Dehydration: Merfolk are unable to survive on land for extended periods of time. After prolonged deprivation of water, Nix will begin to asphyxiate, and her skin will become extremely dry and irritated. After an extensive period of dehydration, her body will begin to shut down. Merfolk are able to spend more time on the surface each time they transform to occupy land, which is the case for Nix, able to go a week without needing to return to the water.
  • Mortality: Since Merfolk are living creatures, they can be killed by conventional means (e.g. blood loss, decapitation, starvation, suffocation, and etc.).
  • Her voice will only effect those who can ear. Deafness or person a fully able to block their ears of her voice will not be effected by it. Also the hypnosis only lasts as long as Nix is singing, as soon as she stops those that are effected will no longer be under her hypnosis. And may or may not remember what had happened. (I’ll leave that up to you).
  • Under the effect of her voice, Nix can cannot control their bodies or mind, but simply creat a distraction that will either force them to only focus on her, or put them to sleep.
  • Singing for too long may cause Nix’s immunity to her own voice weaken, causing hallucinations that could have terrible outcomes as she’s experienced before.
  • Particularly with her sonic scream, if Nix uses it for too long or screams too hard, she is susceptible to losing her voice for a small period of time, or can even become distorted or fall unconscious if she strains herself too much.
  • The further away the object or the person, the less of an effect her scream will have
  • Obviously if gagged her voice is rendered useless. She wears tight metallic collar round her neck that serves as like a choke collar, making her voice sound hoarse and painful to use. For further safety precautions she will also wear a metallic mask, further preventing her from speaking, but this will eventually be removed later as the collar 'appears' to work well enough on its own.

Burglary, and homicide.
Wanting to make a bit of money, she came across a group of people with more devious ways to earn the cash. They offered her a place in their gang, a place to stay and easy money, and she offered her abilities. Nix will admit. She did thrive in that lifestyle, only needing to put victims to sleep or under her hypnosis before the group infiltrated and got the money. It was an easy process, with beneficial results.

But when the group wanted to go bigger and infiltrate a large well known bank, it deemed to be a big mistake. With so many people, Nix couldn’t cope. Panic erupted into chaos and her effect wore down to nothing, requiring her to use her sonic scream. But it seemed even that had its costs, and eventually she fell unconscious, leaving some dead in her wake.

Her teammates, having been advised by her to wear high quality earplugs, chose to bail. Leaving Nix to deal with all charges of their crimes. Enraged, she constantly stated in court that she didn’t act alone, but with the police unable to track down the gang, she was deemed guilty, and in spite she promised to enact revenge when she got out.


Backstory:
Born deep down near the Ocean floor, Nix was brought up learning nothing but the life of a siren. She lived among a group of them that had sea territory circling an island. Course they ate fish and other sorts of sea food like any other aquatic predator, but truly their main prize was humans. Preying on those that ignorantly passed near, and those that were wise enough to plug their ears still had to deal with their feisty antics of damaging the ship.

But as much as Nix enjoyed living with her family, she found the repeated routines numbing and boring, knowing well that there was more to discover beyond shore of their little island. It wasn’t really about the humans, she’s met quite a few, but it was rather the world they lived in. Fast moving, filled with lights, and music and smells galore, being what she heard from those that had ventured that far. And so in an effort to leave the predictable world behind she set off, sadly without the blessing of her family.

Nix’s integration into the human world was extremely hard, with no money, she constantly had to return to the water for food and a place to sleep and avoid dehydration. It was smart of her not to go too inland, allowing her to venture out and explore whilst still able to return to the water for safety. Slowly but surely she got the hang of things. A 2 years down the line she had learned the human’s ways, sort of, and had at least got a low end job.

But she was still always running short on money. And so it is how her life of crime begins… And you know where it ends…

Lany stands a bit short but lean and agile, with dark grey eyes accentuating her pale complexion and short choppy platinum blonde hair to match; very pretty but quite blunt, but there are more obvious features to her appearance. Or the lack thereof. To begin, all ten of her fingers were cut off all at different segments, with only six haven been sewn back on : a left thumb, middle, and ring finger; and a right thumb, index, and pinky finger. The other four are still missing. Her right ear is also missing, as well as her entire left leg up to her mid thigh, the last three toes of her right foot, and her left forearm. All missing appendages have been replaced with modified prosthetics, but those were taken and replaced with rudimentary fake appendages provided by the penitentiary. Scars etch the old suture lines of her reclaimed body parts, save for a small scar on her face, tracing the length of her eyes through the bridge of her nose, and another, tracing the circumference of her neck.

Due to a unique circumstance, Lany was bestowed the Curse of Helen; like Helen of Troy, the face that launched a thousand ships was untouched by any spear or sword. Her will was only bent by the men infatuated with her. Like Helen of Troy, Lany has never caught a blade or bullet, her skin never bruised by strangers with ill will; only those who seem to have fallen in unmutual "true love" with her may make her bleed. Those who find her infatuating then cannot overcome the overwhelming notion that they must take a piece of her, thus the missing appendages. She is essentially a good luck charm and can make other bulletproof through contact; parts taken from her body can also make the holder bulletproof. She is less bulletproof the more her body parts are taken. They can be reattached when reclaimed.

Weakness/Inhibitor:
When she was whole, she was completely bulletproof, save for the infliction caused by her "admirers"; as a consequence, she was not able to hurt anyone either. She was able to do some damage in the short time she used prosthetic appendages and even some of her victims' appendages. As a repercussion of her curse as well, it states the one she falls in love with is the one bound to kill her (the one way she's supposed to meet death), unlike her one sided "admirers" may only harm her. Before she entered Thesta, she hammered a nail into her head, aiming for the part of her brain that felt love, but it was removed when she entered the penitentiary; she's used to inflicting these sorts of "modifications" to herself knowing that the only way she'd ever die is at the hands of her true love; she can still suffer from pain and long lasting wounds; in fact, when she nailed that hammer in her head, she put herself into a short coma. Lany's new leg prosthetic provided by the penitentiary are her inhibitors; the material frame of each serves as a makeshift appendage for her, but they also carry a serum that subdues her imperiousness to wounds into
femoral artery like a slow IV drip. Doses are replenished each night at 11:30 PM daily. All of her removable appendages are bound together by bands of metal smelted into her skin.

She was sentenced to life in prison, rather than death, because the executioner tried and failed, and given enough time, she might be an asset through information or through her abilities.

Backstory:
Laney grew up in the ghettos of Belgrade with her twin brother; they each had something to avoid - for her, prostitution, and him, the mafia. Her brother resolved to train as a promising boxer and fight their way out of poverty. He was beaten to death and with his dying wish, gave Maslany her curse as they shared gypsy blood. She wasn't able to mourn, as she was forced train and impersonate her twin brother. This was when she learned of her endowment.

She was a favorite in the ring, but an ineffective boxer for the bookies if she couldn't land a punch; so the bookies resolved to put a hit on her via the mafia. Every bullet missed her and landed into each one of her assailants. Out of morbid curiosity, she was invited and inducted into the mafia and trained as a body guard for the top mafiosos. This is when she learned the adverse effects of her curse.

Before she was able to flee, her body had been mutilated, her appendages taken and spread among the mafia, used as protection talismans for each of the dons of the mafia, creating new factions and a coup within the underground world of organized crime in Belgrade. She was barely able to escape in the chaos.

A few years passed, but the time came for Maslany's tour of revenge and the reclamation of her body. She learned the full extent of her curse in her absence from the mafia; she returned on warpath, destroying sects of her old adopted "family" through manipulation and torture to get her parts back. In her wrath, she learned of a corruption conspiracy between the government and mafia of Belgrade.

She was only deemed a hero to the people of her city, nicknamed "Sveta Svetinja", a rough translation for "Boondock Saint", like the movie. An utter of the phrase could them killed though. And Maslany was unlikely to be there to save them; but she was sure to take a corrupted life as compensation, like a bloody Robin Hood.

Maslany was eventually caught and arrested when it was deemed by the mafia and the crooked government of Belgrade that she was a threat to both.

Other:
Maslany has a habit of being unable to leave things unfinished, and has a tic that makes her need to keep her hands moving.

Will stands at a height of 6"3, and this, coupled with his athletic, Mesomorph build, gives him quite the Imposing look, at least on any human of average size. He has blond hair, kept short, and his brown eyes always seem to be wide with excitement.

Personality: Will's demeanor is what you would call unstable. Normally,he tends to be quite a nice person to be around, with a solid sense of humor, and a semi permanent smile on his face. If he likes you, he'll be more than willing to help you, or make something special for you(usually, equipment-wise). Make him think that you're a cocky hypocrite, and you'll find him changing into an aggresive, snarky state. Piss him off, and you might find yourself fleeing a masked psychopath laughing maniacally. The fact that he can alternate between these three phases at a hair's trigger makes him very hard to predict. Apart from that, he really isn't the most sociable guy around, and sometimes has trouble starting conversations(although, once conversation's started, he finds it difficult to shut up). Obviously, there's no doubt that the man's a genius, although usually he is not the conventional genius most people expect. Lastly, he has an obsession with Smiles, and masks

Special Ability/Power (if any): Will is blessed with "The gift of Creation", an ancient form of magic. It is unknown how he managed to obtain this sort of power. If you ask him, he'll tell you that he doesn't quite remember. It allows him to:

1.Have an excellent understanding of all kinds of Machinery that he can see, with the exception of magical types of machinery. He can "study" these mechanisms in order to understand them as well

2.Be able to expertly utilize all kinds of tools and materials, in order to create... well, it's a large list of things.

3. He is able to summon, out of thin air, a large collection of tools and materials. Of course, this costs him physical energy and strength. the higher the quality(and quanity) of the summoned supplies, the more energy is required.

Additionally, thanks to further experimentation with this magic, he was able to enhance it, and confer the following benefits to himself as well:

1. He is capable of withstanding much more fatigue than the average person. Around 2-3 hours of sleep per night are enough for him, and he can go on for days without food. His body has also been strenghtened, granting him immunity to all non-magical diseases, and poisons, as well as the ability to recover from wound considerably faster than a normal human. Even the most severe of injuries is unlikely to disable him for more than a week.

2. Perhaps the most bizarre aspect of his power, but one that fits his psychotic aspect all too well, he is able to summon masks at will. When worn, these masks have a variety of effects, from enhancing his already existing abilities. Will claims he can "empower" each form, but the Improvements vary too wildly to even be listed. The duration of these abilities also vary, but none can be maintained for more than an hour without very specific augmentations.

Some of the witnessed manifestations of this power are:

The Butcher-Mask appears to be fashioned out of Bone. Grants Increased Strength and Endurance, but Will become unable to summon any advanced technology during this form.

-The Happy Fellow- Appears as a paper mask with a crude smile drawn on it. When worn, Will's entire physiology changes, With his facial features being replaced by what appears to be a smile carved into flesh. In this form:
-Will gains Tremendous Damage Resistance and a Significant Increase in Strength, even higher than those gained by the "Butcher" form.
-While normal speed for this form cannot exceed a medium-pace walk, he may "dash" across short distances, moving Incredibly fast for a couple of seconds. To the naked eye, this is so fast that it looks like he just Phased forwards.
-Should someone view his face, they begin feeling an unnaturally strong feeling of dread. The longer one stares, the stronger this effect becomes. Those with particularly strong wills are moderately resistant to this effect, although they, too, crumble eventually. Does not work if the target has a mind-controlling/empathetic ability.

Weakness/Inhibitor:He is extremely vulnerable against all sorts of psychic/mind-influencing attacks and/or abilities in general. He effectively broadcasts his emotions to empaths, and attacks that affect or confuse the mind have great effect against him. For this very reason, amongst the prison staff is an empath, who is ready to engage and neutralise Will if he's ever to attempt escape. As a secondary measure, his cell is to be checked daily, and any contraptions deemed potentially dangerous, confiscated.

Backstory: Life's never been easy on Will. Society always needs somebody to mock, somebody to torture so that they feel better. Will spent most of his life as that somebody, with his only solace coming from a few occasional "friends", and Irene, his Sister, who could always cheer him up, even when he was at his darkest. Still, a life of torment isn't exactly good for one's sanity or morals. And that's pretty much all that he'll tell anyone, implying that there was no ulterior motive. Even so, one cannot overlook the fact that the victims all appeared to have committed some criminal act, or how he effectively surrendered to the police after executing about two dozens of first responders. Perhaps his reasons are deeper than he lets on...

She always seems relaxed, her posture loose and languid, like she has no worries and all the time in the world - which of course, she does.

Annabelle is a stubborn, sometimes foolhardy individual who never gives in, no matter what the situation. She's worked at Thesta Penitentiary ever since the facility was established, and in all that time has never taken a sick day, or a holiday.

This implies she's very work-orientated and hard-working, when in fact the opposite is true: She's a total slacker, lazy and insolent. She's not very formal with anyone, even the Warden himself, and can even be found joking around with the inmates. She's quite playful and friendly, though that doesn't mean she'll let things slide. She's shrewd and intelligent (and probably has the rule book memorized - if only so she can break the rules more effectively). For a vampire, she is a very moral person.

She's a terrible flirt - in both terms of the word. She flirts with everyone, but her main method of flirting is with horrible pick up lines.
Likes:
O- blood, sword fighting, people who play along with her teasing, when she sees people she rooted for get rehabilitated and eventually released.
Dislikes:
Guns - Don't get me wrong, she carries one, but she rarely uses it, preferring brute strength or the sword she normally carries. Guns are so loud and impersonal. If she has to kill someone, she should at least get to see the light leave their eyes and feel their blood splash over her hands. Adding to that, she doesn't like killing (even though she can't deny the vampire parts of her are thrilled by it).
Also, blood from blood bags. It's icky.
Special Ability/Power (if any):
Annabelle is faster than your average human, able to move so fast she blurs for a little while, as well as being extraordinarily strong. Both of those talents are easily worn out, though she regains her strength pretty quickly by drinking blood. She usually has a few blood bags (bleh, in her opinion, but she's not allowed to bite an inmate unless it's really neccessary, like the only way to prevent a breakout) on her belt in case of a lockdown situation.
There's a venom in her saliva that makes her victims sleepy.
Weakness/Inhibitor:
Sunlight gives her mild headaches (luckily they don't get much of that on Thesta), and holy/ blessed objects make her nauseous. As stated, she can't use her stregth and speed indefinitely, and her venom needs time to reach the bloodstream to take effect. She's very weak to fire.
Crime They've Committed:
Well, unlike most guards, this girl has committed several crimes. When she was first turned into a vampire, she went into a sort of "feral" state. She can't remember being human, or anything from those years as a brutal, bloodthirsty creature, and really, she doesn't want to know. She's disgusted with it, remembering flashes of bloodied hands and walls, corpses...She hates it, but she decided to keep it a secret. Try to make up for the wrong she had done with good deeds.
And when she accidentally killed someone years - decades - later, the first thing she did was hand herself straight in to the police for manslaughter, where she was given a choice - Go to prison, or serve her sentence as a guard in a newly established facility for the detainment of supernatural creatures. Obviously, she chose the latter. She's been at Thesta over the five years of her manslaughter sentence, but has no intention to leave.
Backstory:
She was turned into a vampire around the time of the French Revolution (in the 1700's) and woke up from her feral state in the 1850's with nothing but hazy, fuzzy memories and a letter addressed to an "Annabelle". The last name she picked out is a cruel, self-deprecating joke, "Sangsue" meaning Leech in French (Or at least according to Google Translate).

She can control lighting and electricity. It practically run is her veins. Sometimes she gets a bad case of static hair though.
Weakness/Inhibitor:
They inject her with a med that leaves her completely comatose and leave her in a plastic cell because metal is conductor. Also, when she has to be up and about doing things she is given drugs that make her very out of it.
Crime They've Committed (does not apply for guards): She robbed a bank, seemed like a good idea at the time, she needed the cash. However, when she was caught she learned how robbing a bank single handedly might not have been the best plan.
Backstory:
Her parents died when she was young, her older brother raised her and taught her to fend for herself before disappearing to who knows where. Leaving her without a job and wanting nothing more than to get by.

She is a pessimist but also loves puns. Cute and quirky for a goth.

Dyani can turn a warm room to very cold quickly upon entering, She's very resistant to Ice due to her cold ability. She also have beast transformation into a wendigo type beast that's very Aggressively strong, fast reflexes, incredible tracking, and night vision. She will tend use her wendigo to defend herself from the attacker. The beast transformation has been noted to happen if she becomes enraged but this usually gets countered by her cloak. She's also capable of luring victims to her by mimicking voices of others.
Weakness/Inhibitor:
The cloak she wears is a inhibitor as this helps her keep calm. Guards are best to help her incase situation of inmates trying to take off the said cloak. As for the wendigo transformation multiple shooters with Heavy inducing tranquilizers are best used as due to fast reflexes and will unable to dodge it all. The mimicking of voices are hard to tell apart but can easily reveal her if a secret phase(Like a phrase that must be completed) is said. She wears a shock collar that activates upon becoming angry and more the shock will also become more powerful.

Gospel of the Lord: By quoting the Bible Severinus is able to manifest the miracles of God or call the torments of Hell into being.
Weakness/Inhibitor: For his power to work it must be spoken aloud and quoted exactly. His inhibitor is a device that monitors his words. Situated on his throat it detected his words and if it determines that he is quoting a bible passage, such as Job or Psalms which he is required to announce for his ability to work, it shocks his vocal cords paralyzing them and forcing him silent.
Crime They've Committed (does not apply for guards): The crime Severinus committed was first degree murder, 4 counts. Severinus has been giving a homily on Sin and Punishment. It was his first homily out of Seminary so rather than paraphrasing as he did in class he quoted exactly: Isaiah 33:14 “Sinners in Zion are terrified; Trembling has seized the godless "Who among us can live with the consuming fire? Who among us can live with continual burning?" And so it was that guests lacking in faith before him began to tremble and burn up.
Backstory:
Severinus was born and raised in a devout catholic family. He went to private catholic schools and there was very little of his time that he didn’t spend surrounded with like minded people. That changed when he went to University in an attempt to find himself. Unfortunately finding himself landed him in several fights and eventually expelled. He then spent the next few years going through Seminary to join a religious order and devote himself to the God that had given his life meaning

David is able to change his features to look like any humanoid. He can become something or somebody from his imagination, or a person he has seen before. He also has the power to view a person's memories when he comes into skin contact with them.
Weakness/Inhibitor:
He cannot transform into animals or bestial creatures, but humans and humanoids are possible. If he is in contact with gold, he cannot shapeshift ((I thought of this because gold, although very malleable, doesn't change or tarnish)).
Backstory:
His life growing up was rather simple, he had a single father and a younger brother. He didn't begin to exhibit his powers until the beginning of college. He isn't sure of where they came from and never asked his father. He decided that he would help use these powers for his work and they would help him with his patients' problems. He ended up working at Thesta Penn. because he believed that the prisoners would be the people who needed the most help. He knew that they would likely resist his help, but maybe he could use his powers to his advantage and help some of them.
Other:
When he transforms, his skin ripples as the change occurs. His eyes roll back in his head while looking at somebody else's memories, so he normally closes them during this process as to not scare others.​

Backstory:
Before becoming a priest and renouncing violence Jacob was a fighter in the IRA. He fought for an independent and Catholic Ireland. Unfortunately for him however it’s very rare soldiers in his line of work lived very long. True to form when Jacob went on a mission to plant a car bomb something didn’t go according to plan. The remote wasn’t working so he got closer, unfortunately a bit too close, and the bomb went off. Horribly scared from shrapnel and now barely able to walk because of shrapnel in his leg Jacob saw his survival as providence, God giving him a second chance.
