The Winter of 1637: Limited Encyclopedia

Agent

Lance
Noah has a vast amount of knowledge, which is too much to write on some paper. Luckily there's an encyclopedia that has infinite pages and is relatively lightweight. With it, you can read information about Characters, Abilities, and Monsters.
Allies gain abilities when Noah gains knowledge. However, they are prohibited from using certain elements, as they are either weak to those or do not correlate to those in any way.
CHARACTERS
Noah Grinter(19) - An Astral Knight. He used to be a hunter, but came to the knights academy of Graicmer upon receiving a request and quickly rose through the ranks to become the second best of the knights. He has a strong moral compass and does not like having to fight people.
Blake Veckers(2X) - The leader of the Astral Knights. He is the first person to discover the gift, and has been training with it ever since. It is said that he is one of the deuteragonists who saved Redukan in 1636, but he avoids the topic when he is asked.
Alekir Kourin(??) - A mage who knows Blake from some past experience. He owns a pet sharkat named Riley.
Lyra Akerson(14) - A succubus who joined Noah on his adventures. She likes to use a bow and arrow, and she is physically frail like most other succubi. She has wings, but they've not developed enough for her to fly in the air for more than a few seconds. Apparently she has some sort of phobia of something.
Officer 'Archer'(??) - A high ranking guard in Sohnelbuy that wears an officer's uniform to distinguish herself from his lower tier allies. Last seen running after a group of thugs that were armed with grenades. He wields a composite bow.
Officer Whitney(??) - A high ranking guard in Sohnelbuy that wears an officer's uniform to distinguish herself from her lower tier allies. Last seen running after a group of thugs that were armed with grenades. She wields a razor rapier.
Raleigh Ternster(22) - A fast moving knight that received a request from Blake to take charge of the Astral Knights while he left to take care of some business. He wields two light swords with deadly precision and is a very good dodger. But unfortunately, he doesn't know how to pick locks.
Wraith(??) - One of the pirate commanders. A black, humanoid mass of shadow with the ability to use his life force as a weapon. His reasons for leading the pirates are unknown.
'Arbalest'(26) - One of the pirate commanders. They wear a mask and a thick red cloak, yet Raleigh is able to identify her as female and even recognizes her from another skirmish.

BESTIARY
-Circa 1637-
>Woof-lf, 1588
These strange beasts first appeared in these lands when wolf sought to become man's best friend. Their population quickly grew, causing the extinction of doggos and regular wolves. While they seem to have the friendliness of doggos, they carry the ferocity of wolves. Some Woof-lfs wear hats, which can boost their abilities.
>Spider, 1570
Spiders are innately weak creatures that die very easily. Some are able to poison enemies with their attacks, but most of the time they're just a source of free experience.
>Cat, ????
Regular feline pets that have not been affected by any magic. They're cute, they're agile, and they don't do anything but sit around in the house.
>Sharkat, 1591
A deadly, amphibious cat, warped by the magic of a crazed wizard, making them feral hunters. It has sharp claws, tough skin, and a lot of teeth. The sharkat is capable of performing a barrel roll in air or water, boosting it's speed and allowing it to slam into an opponent with a significant amount of force.
>Waterphase Snake, 1602
These snakes are native to the Eastern lands, and were given water powers when a petrified Siren's innate powers started leaking out to the nearby wild lands. It is capable of generating a Bubble Shield on it's own to protect itself, as it is frail. Like most snakes, it also has poisonous fangs.
>Rabid Rat, ????
Almost every rat within Redukan has contracted rabies, making them very dangerous. Fortunately, all rabies does is inflict poison. Despite their small size, a group of rats can overwhelm a person if given the chance. Pack mentality allows the rats to combine into a swarm for extra power, but not much, as clustering together tends to be not very good for both defense and offense.
>Unknown Species
You cannot research what you cannot see, mortal, as there are some things that would be better off without your eyes seeing them. But perhaps there is a chance for you to see this creature after all...

The Classic story of the Woof-lf, by Agitha Sirkual
The Woof-lfs made their first appearance in 1588, and back then, there were two other species that existed. They were called Doggos and Wolves.
The Doggo was man's best friend, and also woman's best friend if you didn't like cats.
However, there was one wolf... who also wanted to be man's best friend. But the people did not like the wolf, for they were more violent than the doggos they loved so dearly. For this, the lone wolf went travelling on it's own, to find a way to become man's new best friend.
For many days it walked, but it finally found it's destination. Some wizard's tower, owned by one devilish wizard. He heard the pleas of the wolf, as he could understand the words of beasts, and cast a polymorphing spell on the wolf.
As the smoke cleared, the wolf was now like a doggo, but it still had a few wolf features; very sharp teeth, a prominent howl, and a slight degree of armor. Nonetheless, it felt happy that it could be a doggo. When it returned to the human town, it was welcomed as a new friend to the humans.
But there was a disaster. The wolf/doggo still kept it's primal instincts, and started killing livestock. The humans tried killing it, but it was easily able to escape into the forest. There, it's population somehow bloomed, and the combined abilities of the wolf/doggos were able to outclass their lowly single forms. Soon enough, all the wolves and doggos went extinct, and the new species:
The Woof-lf, rose as the next canine.
Status Effects, by Flint Goslyn
Author's Note: If it weren't for the increasing amount of adventurers popping up, then my advisers would just nag me about creating this book, so here it is.
Many monsters and humans are able to inflict status effects on enemies by using certain abilities. This book is a guide on how to alleviate or stop such effects. First, we'll start by listing most of the common statuses.
Circa 1637, January 19

Poison - There are several misconceptions about poison, leading to it's lethality in several situations where it could be avoiding. It should be known that poison does NOT deteriorate the health of afflicted persons. But rather, it weakens them by reducing their maximum Health and Will. Also, health cannot be restored when one is poisoned. Like most statuses, this can be cured by using a minty concoction, a cupcake, a cherry mixture, or a dose of epinephrine.
Stun - When one is hit with a heavy blow, they have a chance to become stunned, usually only for a few seconds. When one is stunned, they cannot act or defend themselves for a few seconds.
Dazed - An affliction from when someone suffers a stunning blow that doesn't quite work, or from an irritation in the eyes. Dazed victims are significantly less likely to hit with their attacks, and they are pretty much defenseless.
Burning - When a mage uses fireball, or when a dragon uses dragonfire, affected victims usually get lit on fire. Like poison, it doesn't cause damage, even though it should be giving second degree burns. Burning people cannot recover Will, because it's really hard to focus.
Bleeding - Obtained from laceration or a deep cut. Bleeding people will slowly lose their health, so it's important to patch up their wounds quickly.
Unconscious - If someone sustains significant damage to their Health or Will, they will be knocked unconscious. The only way to help a knocked out ally is to use a revival spell, or inject them with epinephrine.
Intimidate/Shift - Reduction of a person's resolve or a shift in the magic something reduces Attack or Magic. This doesn't appear very often.
Shatter/Rift - Destruction of armor or barriers reduces Defense or Aegis. Nowadays, this doesn't appear very often.
