The Spartacus Arena. A mysterious place run by Nero's Cabal, an organisation of high ranking officials. What are they officials of? Nobody knows. Each of these officials came together with a single goal: entertainment. Thus, they have been kidnapping people from across the world, and beyond. From the furthest depths of space, to the deepest pit in the earth, no one know is safe from them. They will kidnap even a newborn, and raise it to become an assassin, a soldier, a cyborg, even a dragon, only to send them into the arena, to win personal favours for their adopted parents. The longer they survive, the more combats they win, the more powerful their patron's position in the cabal becomes. Nero's Cabal itself is divided by this very system. Some of the more successful members are the Inner Circle, a group of powerful officials who have a whole host of contestants that call them patrons. The Middle Circle contains those who are moderately successful. These officials will often have an ever changing collection of contestants, due to the fact that the resources at their disposal cannot come up to those of the Inner Circle. Then there is the Outer Circle. The members of the Outer Circle contains the least successful of patrons, and they have very limited resources. Most can only manage a half dragon or a steam powered android.
However, there are those contestants of the Spartacus Arena who have no patrons. These are Spartans, and they are the arena's permanent inhabitants. Those who manage to survive long enough can, in one form or another, rebel against their patron, and settle down inside the arena, living a life filled with battle. Whole villages have been established by these Spartans, containing several thousand men and women. Children born in these villages are fiercely protected from the Cabal, and are rarely allowed outside of the confines of their own home. For children such as these, life is a matter of reaching adulthood, something the whole of the village will contribute towards.
You have been given this information for a simple reason. You have been selected by a patron to take part in the next bout of the Arena. You have been outfitted with a variety of abilities. Depending on your patron, this can range from simple telekinesis to more outstanding powers, such as elemental shifting or even being transformed into a dragon. How long will you survive this bout? That is entirely up to you.
