Love is a disease. Love is illegal. Love is the deliria.
The totalitarian government in charge of the city teaches that love is a disease that weakens the mind and body. A surgical cure for love is mandatory for all citizens over the age of 18; it includes a procedure to cut the skull open, and remove the part of the brain that controls emotions. This makes it impossible to feel love or any other strong emotions. A group called The Resistance has risen up; a group of people that pretend to have the procedure done. They begin to discover a new way of life, love. If the government discovers their uprising there are three possibilities: imprisonment, death, or the 'immediate cure'.
