It is the turn of the century of a new century. After the great efforts of numerous talented trainers the Pokédex has finally been completed. With this newly obtained information of Pokémon from Kanto to Kalos Professor Oak and his colleagues have completed the Pokémon database. This new accessible information has made it easier for all sorts of people to learn more about Pokémon within and outside their own region. It wasn't long before Pokémon specialists all over the world began researching to add to the information of the Pokémon database. This increased an understanding and allowed others to create more intensive research projects. However, many of the younger generation lacked the credentials or experience to enter into Pokémon related jobs due to the new standard of knowledge.
Professor Mangrove, one of Professor Oak's oldest partners, saw the struggles of the younger generation and created the Oak League schools. The Oak League schools are a group of universities scattered across the world; the most prestigious being the Pokémon University of Kanto. These schools are taught by the best of the best in their fields and are rigorous but rewarding. It has been five years since the creation of the Oak League schools and the graduates of each school have been able to select any job they want and have gone on to be stars of the Pokémon world.
Congratulations! You have been accepted into the Pokémon University of Kanto which is located on an island to the south of Pallet town and west of Cinnabar Island (See Map Tab). There are many climates that have been constructed to suit all Pokémon needs on the island through the most innovative technology. Students are equipped with luxurious living quarters inside the varying zones. The central campus is located within the center of the island and is overseen by Professor Mangrove himself. You are currently at the central campus attending orientation for the new school year. It is at orientation that you will receive instructions for your new life on campus, your dorm location, and your first Pokémon egg if you did not bring Pokémon from home.
