so I noticed that people post pictures. Do the pictures have to belong to you? The art and stuff? For the characters?

Nope! As long as you aren't trying to claim that pictures you didn't take (if it's photography,) make (if it's art,) or are (as in, trying to claim you're someone you're not) are your own.


Basically, as long as you don't plagiarize or impersonate someone, you're good.


If the original creator/owner of the image comes forward and says they don't want their picture being used, you'll have to take it down, but I don't recall that ever happening.

Its happened a few times in the site's history and only by users claiming to be someone they were not.

If a picture you find clearly says somewhere on the page "Do not use" then don't use it. That tends to avoid most problems.
