Etna did not reply. There were only a scarce handful of defenses that were effective at mitigating her ability, and none of them were sheer force of will or mental security. She didn't mind allowing people to underestimate her, however. It was just one more advantage she'd have over them.


The duo followed Commander John to where the simulation room was. En route, Sibyl had to roll her eyes at the precautions they took to keep everything top-secret. She could very easily probe the area with her magnetokinesis and at least get a feel for the location of any ferrous metals, of which there were likely numerous, thus enabling her to construct a rough model in much the same way as a dolphin used sonar, or a bat echolocation. However, she had absolutely no reason to do any of that, and so didn't put in the effort.


When Alex prompted them as to who wanted to go first, both Etna and Sibyl remained silent. Etna typically preferred to go last, if possible, and Sibyl was typically bloodthirsty as could be, but at present she was willing to wait and see what the new meat was going to do, before she made any moves.
