This is a real-time RP; dates pass in the RP as they do in real life. School starts at 10AM EST and lets out at 4PM EST.

Welcome to Superpower High School: a high school created specifically for only the most prestigiously powered students! All students ages 14-18 may enroll; only powered students will be accepted.

This roleplay takes place in the USA, and is GM'd by Alexishere13.

To join, fill out the form at the bottom of the post. Your character must be between 14 and 18 years of age if they are a student, or between 25 and 80 years of age if they are a teacher. If you would like to claim a character marked free to claim, type 'claim' followed by their name in parenthesis. Any student character may only join existing subjects; schools may form their own. All students are free to start and join clubs. If a student is to enroll while school hours are active, they may not begin roleplaying until school has ended; at this point, they may move into their dorm and meet their assigned roommate if they have one and they are home.

No godmodding.
Do not leave the school under any circumstances until graduation.
All students must have powers, while teachers may not have powers.
No character may have more than 3 minor powers or 1 major power. (As an example, with enhanced strength: a 'minor' power entails being able to lift another person without much effort or strain. A 'major' power entails being able to lift a truck without much strain.)

This RP takes place in a parallel universe; this universe is almost exactly like our own, with one exception - recently, several children around the world have been born with strange powers. This all began 18 years ago in the year 1981, through reasons still unknown today. Now, as these children age, they must be transported to the Superpower High School: a boarding school specifically designed to handle these powers whilst allowing students to use them; if a powered person goes too long without using their powers, they will die.

The current date is September 2, 1999. It's the first day of school.

Personality: Clumsy and socially awkward, but good hearted. Pacifistic and doesn't like conflict with others. Introverted and gets tired after long periods of social interaction with others. Major nerd in the fields of Star Wars, Anime, and RTS video games. Homosexual.
Appearance: Tall for his age (5'11"), chestnut skin, long curly hair dark brown and thick round glasses with freckles on cheeks. Very thin build. [The glasses are actually made of graphite and have diamond lenses. He is practically blind without them]
Powers: Carbo-Kenesis. Can control carbon from any non organic source. Telekinetically tear carbon atoms from CO2 in the air to create diamond, graphite and carbon nanotubes. Cannot tear carbon from organic sources (people/animals) due this being OP. Can tear carbon from other compounds containing carbon such as methane/petrol, sugar, and plastics. Can also telekinetically control his pure-carbon. Power primarily limited by the amount of available carbon.

Reynard Cardith (Rene)
Age: 14 (Grade 9)
Personality: Quiet and Reserved, but when finally provoked, becomes somewhat of a bold and brave leadership archetype. Tends to like books and reading more than anything, but also seems to notice more things than most give him credit for... almost like he has radar on most occasions. Bisexual. Tends to get irritated if someone hits one of his 'nerves'.
Appearance: 4'3", ghostly white skin, silvery-white hair, hazel-blue eyes (albeit they're heterochromia, being a mixture between hazel-blue and gold with the gold toward the center near the Iris). Easily mistaken as a girl from afar, and sometimes even up close. Lithe build in body design. Has a very noticeable scar across his left eye ( / ).
Powers: Cryokinesis (the ability to rapidly cool and freeze any object affected by the power, minor). Extrasensory Warning (Able to pick up on noises and sounds higher than one would not be able to hear normally, minor). Night Vision (Ability to see in pitch black environments as if a light was on, minor).

Min "Nino" Nean (Soul Stealer)
Age: 15 (Grade 10)
Personality: In classes, he's professional and polished, always replying to whatever the instructor says respectfully and without skipping a beat. He appears to always be ready for any question or order thrown at him, but spends every extra second reading old books about whatever strikes his fancy, including those in class. Outside of class, he's outgoing and does all he can to be considerate to his peers and surroundings.
Appearance: He stands 170cm (5'7") tall, posture straight. Thick, curly black hair and an average build suggesting healthy but not rigorous exercise.
Powers: Omnituens Lumen, or the ability to sense more around him than any other mortal senses. He can 'see' things otherwise just beyond his reach (about 3 meters, regardless of other senses' current ability). He can sense an extremely general overview of up to 3 people's current emotions and/or what they're thinking or can sense this somewhat more acutely on one person at a time. Using this ability at all makes him require more sleep and nutrients, since it uses up a rather large amount of energy.
Cogitatio Veredictum, or the ability to transmit thoughts directly into people's minds. Considering that this requires little to no connection to the recipient's mind, only one's own, this requires much, much less effort and can be done over longer distances (about 10 yards away). He can't send more than a couple paragraphs worth of words per hour without wearing himself out, cannot disguise his thoughts in any way effective to trick the recipient into him being anyone but himself, and people nearby him are likely to pick up a few words of what he says if he isn't completely concentrated in sending the message directly to the person, meaning basically never.
Magiae Auditor, or an uncontrollable reaction to magic targeting him. This is a power in the same way having the strength and the requirement to tear a limb off could be one, as this means that every time magic comes in contact with a sort of receptive field around him that extends 1/2 of a meter away from him, he feels some portion of this. If it's something minor like his other powers, it's almost like a subtle brushing, but if a major power is straining itself near him in some way, his receptive area (which he calls his aura) will flare in retaliation, causing him headaches that cannot be curbed by medication that looks to resolve rather than numb (for example, he would feel less of the pain if he was put out with a medicine than if he took a pain medication).
