Poetry Sometimes I Say Semitemos.

Found this gem in an old notebook of mine
while packing up things today ~ wish I still wrote poetry.
Enjoy :33:

Sometimes I like to light my fingertips on fire with gasoline,
while we lay under different stars and different front yards.
Sometimes, dear, I like to change different words' spelling,
Because racecar is racecar backwards and srats forward is stars.
I've woven cases of black jacks and better sounding strums,
just to break my strings against antique blue torn hands.
And I feel you are as small as I ever wanted you to be...
with you, I am alive more than I think I have ever been.
A pretty boy with dollar store diamond rings said to me,
"Sometimes, I just like to touch your face in utter disbelief."
Sometimes, I like to think that I fell in love just right then
as we touch what left our lips, rimmed with insecurity.
A long, long time ago, I heard six went on a date with seven
and came back to be forty-eight with a lot less correct.
Because past times with past honors don't fit here inside,
and eight was better left at corners to try to just forget.
"Sometimes, I think you're a lot like the weather because,
you're good and you're bad, but you are always here."
Semitemos i tnaw ot yas taht I kinht taht I evol uoy tub
I know diamonds shine better on faces rather than tears.
Just because I depart, doesn't mean I'm up for the neglect so,
you told me quietly over the rim of your tea cup and eyes
"The only heroes I have ever found inside this city of sin is,
anyone who has possibly made me smile in my entire life."
Now I am laying here, bedridden with the taste of copper.
You once told me you were so cold, you felt it in your head.
"Sometimes, I see my body in a blanket of fire to warm me"
htiW uoy, I leef a tol erom evila naht I reve ylgnilliw evah dais.
