Shinukara

This is one of my two OCs. It's hard to put either of them into one category, because they both fit into the modern/fantasy/futuristic genres, so I apologize in advance. I'll probably post their character sheets separately, so long as it's not against the rules.

Name: Shinukara, or Shinu for shorthand

Alias/Nickname: Jack, Whisper

Current Age: 27

Gender: Male

Height: 6' 1"

Weight: 142 lbs.

Hair: White

Eyes: Hazel/Green

Species: Half-Breed, Human/Wolf

Bio: Shinu was born under the brightest full moon ever witnessed in history, along with his twin brother. Unlike most wolves, he has unusually large ears on top of his head, and he was born without a tail. Despite his difference of appearance, he adjusted to the world around him quickly and easily. At an early age, he quickly developed a blended love of technology and philosophy. By the time he was an adolesent he'd read The Art Of War twice, built and mastered his first rifle, hacked into several computers, and written two full books of poetry and wisdom. He passed through school with little trouble, although he was not very fond of his classmates teasing him about his ears. After graduating college, he left home for a time to become a travelling blacksmith, forging weapons and sharing his knowledge and ideas wherever he went. In his travels, he became somewhat of a handyman, lending help wherever it might be needed.

Personality: Shinu is a humble, soft spoken man. Always lost in thought, and unusually quiet, he keeps to himself for the most part. Although he will socialize from time to time, he tends to always wander off on his own before much time has passed. In groups, he isn't shy about speaking up or being blunt. He will say what needs to be said, and little else, but he is not devoid of manners or basic courtesy. In short, he is friendly enough, but he is certainly worthy of the nickname others have awarded him in his travels.

Vehicle: An old, two seat motorcycle, modeled after a World War Two bike.

Weapons: Remington 700, .338 Lapua Magnum bolt action rifle with a high powered scope. Glock 30, 9x19mm sub-compact pistol. Tactical tomahawk, assorted knives, camping equipment, tools for blacksmithing.

You may need to tone down some of the abilities and knowledge or balance it out with a few weaknesses. Currently he comes across as a prodigy with cute wolf ears who is also respectable, selfless and good looking.

I think one of two routes would be good:

Either he (1) has some knowledge in a lot of different fields (kinda like you already wrote him out to be), but he is by no means an expert in any of them. It's just basic or intermediate knowledge in all sorts of fields, and he's a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none. This only requires you to tone down his competence (for example instead of writing actual books of his own, maybe just some short stories that never really amounted to anything, high school education, you get the picture).

The other option is that he (2) has a vast amount of knowledge in one (or a few, very similar) areas of expertise. Maybe combat, craftsmanship, eloquence, etc. This will automatically balance him out by taking away strength in other areas, (a silvertongued and charismatic man might not be that good at combat because he never needed it). However, be careful with how accomplished you make him in these areas, a good character will always have room for personal and professional growth.

An overall good character with creative ideas, it just requires a little polishing to be fair for everyone else.
