Befriending somebody from a different clique violates one of the school's unwritten social rules, and will usually result in being forced to give up your allegiance to one of the two clusters. Hillview is run by its royal family—the queen and her cronies. Below them stand the nobility, consisting of those who aspire to be monarchs. They're servants or bodyguards to the popular group, and are forever loyal to their idols. The lowest rung of the ladder is where the peasants reside, mostly freshmen and sophomores who are shut out by the elite—so they have their own parties, their own drama, their own fun.
indent In a place like Hillview, you'll find several concealed secrets waiting to be told. The reigning clique has its own handful of these, and many of them have not even escaped the lips of those who keep them. Each of their imperfections are hidden carefully from the crowd by a coat of designer-brand makeup, and an ice-cold, exclusive demeanor. Just one mistake can cost a royal their friends, their popularity, and their strength against people plotting to overthrow them. Will the five most loved and envied students in the entire school make it out of high school unscathed? Or will they be forced to leave the monarchy for good?
