Romance in RPs

Just a quick question... I read the rules on no 'explicit sexual conduct of any kind.' How does this apply to romance in a roleplay? What's ok and what isn't? I understand not writing out some erotic sex scene, but what about normal romance gestures such as flirting, kissing, touching another character?

Those are allowed. Anything erotic should be covered by Fading To Black.

I'm guessing by "naughty bits" we mean genitals, anal cavities and - this is the bit I'm not 100% sure on - breasts, correct?


Also, is characters being naked considered "explicit" even if nothing sexual is happening (ex: Our heroes take a bath in a hot spring) or is that also "fade to black"?


Also, is "explicit" only governing sexual content or does it also govern violent content? In a theoretical scenario, how explicit can I be about (if it can even happen at all) - for example - a zombie violently eviscerating a 6 year old child?


Sorry for the shower of questions in a thread I did not even start, but I felt it followed the topic and I wanted to cover all my bases to prevent future fuc- screw-ups. Speaking of which! Where does the site stand on swearing?

I wouldn't try anything with that, personally.


Rule of thumb is that if you aren't sure about it, it's probably not to do it.


Being naked is perfectly fine, so long as you aren't getting too detailed with your description of the aforementioned naughty bits.


Explicit is exclusive to sexual content.


Graphic violence/gore is a-okay in the RpN bible, but just make sure that your GM is comfortable with that first.

Swearing is perfectly fine, though of course handle this maturely and don't run around spamming meaningless posts with nothing but swears.

You're allowed to say that someone is naked but you should not be describing anything in a pornographic way. Readers on RpN don't need to know those specific details. We all know that men and women have different body parts. Essentially, leave those details to the imagination.
