The Coolest Cat
Brief Summary: In the year of 2129, bio-warfare had begun. All sorts of bombs and rockets were shot at opposing countries, the world was in chaos! That would seem like nothing compared to what came next. One of the countries in Europe created a atomic bio-nuclear missile and shot it at North America. Millions of people died immediately, others eventually died. But, some survived and a lucky group of them gained new powers and want to destroy the ones who anihilated the whole of North America. It has been two years since the event and your character is part of the rebellion against the people who wiped out Nort America.

Yoshida

Yoshida just woke up from his slumber and glanced over at the clock, it read: 6:09pm. He had slept for only about 3 hours but he was still exhausted from training in hand to hand combat. His stomach groweled so he went over to the stockpile of odds and ends that he stored in the small apartment he had been staying in for two months to look for some food. Nothing. He walked to the small storage crate next too his makeshift bed and took out some clothes that he used to go exploring and put them on. He then grabbed a large water bottle and a dagger and hopped out the window. After he was out he locked the window and started down the fire escape. When he got down the first step and noticed a boy with very light ash blonde hair walking with another guy through an alley way next to his apartment. He ducked down and watched where they were going. After they passed the building, Yoshida jumped down the rest of the ladders and hid behind the wall they previously passed. He pressed his hand on the ground and used a kind of geokinetic echolocation to see where they were going for a short distance. After they passed the next wall, Yoshida ran up to it. But on the way there, he tripped and met himself face to face with the blonde boy.

Kura

Kura was searching through the city he was in with Echo, a friend from before the bomb, when he heard a thud from the alley way he was previously in. He walked back over to it and saw a guy on the ground who had obviously fallen. He glanced over at Echo to see what his reaction was then, back at the person. Kura helped him get to his feet and when he was up, the guy pushed him into a brick wall and held Kura by his throat with a knife.

Echo had heard the guy running around long before the thud that his friend heard, and had been keeping an ear out for him before the guy trip over. "Be careful."He had mouthed at Kura when he sensed his eyes on him but kura went anyways. He sighed softly when the guy threatened Kura but not react immediate preferring to use his blindness to his advantage. "Kura? Kura! What was that noise?" He said with hint of concern waiving his arms as if trying to feel him out moving closer to Yoshida." Talk to me Kura."

Yoshida

Yoshida whispered in the stranger's ear,"Don't try anything, or I wil slit your throat." He slightly nudged the knife into his throat, not harming the boy, just startling him. The boy stared him in the eyes with an accusing line of sight and said,"I'm fine, just looking for something."

Kura

Kura tried to break free of the man's grasp but, he couldn't shake it off. He then tried using his powers, but he couldn't find an open souce of water. Kura tapped hia foot twice on the ground, knowing Echo would know he was in trouble because that is what Echo told him to do if he needed help.

"Cover your ears, buddy."He said softly once he heard Kura foot tap, controlling the sound wave to go only to Kura ear. He risked moving a step closet to Yoshida before screaming at him with pitch loud enough to be painful to ones ears.

Lynessa wandered down the streets, the hood of her hoodie over her head. She walked into a slightly vegetated area and bent down. She parted her lips to let out a soft clicking sound, and a dark cat emerged from the undergrowth. She pulled out something wrapped in light cloth. She delicately peeled it away to reveal a small sliver of meat. She set it down as the cat sauntered forwards to sniff at it, then start eating.

She heard a slight thud in the distance. "I'll be right back," she whispered to the cat, which she named Shadow. She quietly made her way towards the source of the thud and peeked out from behind a tree. She saw a male pinned to the wall, a knife at his throat, and she narrowed her eyes. She heard a soft rustle and turned her head, catching sight of Shadow's yellow eyes. He had brought the meat with him and set it down at Lynessa's feet, as if offering it to her. He let out a soft quiet meow, and Lynessa quickly brought a finger to her lips. "Shh," she urged. Shadow, being a smart cat, blinked up at her and stayed silent.

She watched as another male made his way over to the two. She heard him take a breath, and rushed to pick up Shadow. She covered his ears as the male screamed out at an ear-splitting pitch. She winced, holding tightly to Shadow's ears. Her ears were ringing, and she fell to the grass, slightly shocked, and ears in pain.

Atop the weather-chewed boughs of a large crooked tree, the nocturnal creature that called itself 'Riik' slumbered away the day silently, its fragile, naked body clasped around a thick vertical branch in a manner only the likes of a koala would find comfortable. Riik, of course, was not a koala; grown in a lab and freed by missiles, this child could not claim its genetics to any ancestor species. No, Riik was something new. Something unique.

Dangling limply below Riik was his soft, orange-fur-covered tail; a balancing aid, one would think, but in truth, something much more important to Riik. Indeed, this tail was Riik's gateway to the audible world. An antenna for detecting sound. Riik's ears were little more than an aesthetic addition designed to make him look more human; it was his tail that did their usual job. And it was his tail that picked up the distant scream that awoke the strange creature from its daytime sleep.

Groggy and confused, Riik hopped down from the tree and stared at the sky. It was early evening; a few hours too early to be awakening under normal circumstances. Still, whatever that sound was, it sounded vaguely human. But it was far too loud and powerful to belong to the average man... something was amiss here. Was it a new predator? Well, that was something Riik needed to find out. If it was dangerous enough, it would mean having to emigrate to a new location; Riik hoped not, though, as he was getting quite attached to his tree. Grabbing a dead rodent from the crude storage hole Riik had made under the tree, and eating the expired creature whole, Riik dashed toward the nearby streets, hopping onto the wall of a house, and crawling along toward the source of the noise about as quickly as he could run on the ground. It would only take him a few minutes to reach the source of the noise at this pace.

Nyx rolls off the mattress onto her knees before standing up in one fluid motion. She yawns and stretches before running her hands through her mess of hair making her way to the bathroom to brush out her hair into something that didn't resemble a bird's nest. She slips on a pair of holey jeans and an over-sized sweater and makes her way out of her home she had been able to keep seemingly abandoned for the past couple months. She shifts into her ferret form and squeezes through a small hole, so no one would suspect anyone lived there. Anyone who tried to take the house for themselves found themselves face to face with a snarling wolf, but that only happened once and that person never came back again thankfully. She shifts back into her human form just in time to hear the strange scream and immediately found herself back in her ferret form. Her tail bristled and puffed up in alarm at never hearing anything like it. It wasn't a scream of agony, pain, or fear, it was just....strange. Her curiosity got the best of her and she made her way towards the alley, slinking low to the ground, either through tall grass or against building walls where she was less likely to be noticed. She soon reached the scene spotting a girl and a cat already inspecting what was going on as well. She sends a warning hiss towards the cat when it's gaze falls on her before moving around so she could peer down the alley. She was disappointed by the sight of three men having a tussle over something or another, a sight that was not uncommon nowadays.

Lynessa uncovered Shadow's ears as he whirled his head in a direction. A hiss reached her ears before something darted out of her view, and Shadow's ears immediately straightened. "Come on, Shadow," she murmured quietly, tapping the center of his head. The cat raced up her arm and rested on her shoulder as she got up and headed towards the figure she saw earlier.

She found the small form of a ferret huddled in a particular spot, eyes trained on the sight of three men Lynessa was observing moments before. It was quite cute, but she knew better than act on it. She just leaned back and watched the ferret instead.

Asa skimmed through the high buildings and small gaps. He'd just finished taking whatever he pleased from broken down or abandoned apartments so it didn't really bother him too much and he didn't really have a 'moral code' either. But it was all getting too annoying to him. It seemed this part of the city had a lot of noise coming in. All the thoughts of other people were flooding his mind, he didn't mean to do it but it just happened. It sounded kind of urget too so maybe he would find someone of importance.

"Hello" he spoke then he cringed at how obviously it was bait so he decided to change it a little.

"Any living, mutated or weird soul can you come out? You're getting pretty goddamn annoying" he sighed as he leaned back and waited for whoever it was to come out. At times like these he didn't feel so lonely but then again he listening to thoughts that he really didn't need to.

Asa sighed as he sat on the wall. He smiled as a little cat sat next to him. It had something to do with his mind reading thing, he just couldn't make the link. He petted the cat before frowning at it.

"I've only got a bit left, it's not a lot and definitely not for you" he murmured as he patted the cat. He closed his eyes tightly for a whils before reopening them.

Abigail sat against a worn down brick wall, her headphone on and music the only thing she thought about. She smiles to herself as she twirled a small spark of fire between her fingers, only to flick it at a plant, watch it catch fire and then start over again. She tilted her head back and forth to the run of her music, soon to begin singing quietly along with it.

The song brought tears to her eyes. For it was her mother's favorite song and the memory of her made Abigail feel so... Alone. "I'm so sorry mom... Sis... Dad..." She dispersed of the flame and cupped her hands around her eyes, sobbing in pity of herself.
