Nimbasa City was in absolute chaos. Flashes of red and blue colored the night, screams of terror and panic filled the night accompanied by sirens coming from ambulances, police cruisers and fire trucks. People in uniforms were barking orders to get the civilians out of the way while paramedics were scrambling around to get the injured into ambulances to be sent to the hospital if they had severe injuries. Firefighters were trying to contain the fire that was currently raging within the Pokemon Center.

It had been a relatively normal day for everyone. Trainers in Unova would flock to Nimbasa City - or at least those who were aiming to join Pokemon Contests. Though, it wasn't only an attraction for trainers but also to families as well thanks to the amusement park just off to the side. They would also come to watch the Pokemon Contests which really gained a lot of popularity thanks to it being another form of entertainment.

There had been a Pokemon Contest at that day but there was relatively low security as it wasn't a large scale competition. However, as unfortunate as it was, it just so happened that the shady organization, Team Rocket, had decided to strike on that same day. It may have been an act to instill fear on so many people at the same time due to the absurd amount of people who came to watch. It had also been the time where the competition lulled and many flocked to the Pokemon Center to have their Pokemon rejuvenated.

Then all hell broke loose. A bomb was set off on 10:23 which resulted to the Pokemon Center being engulfed in flames. The moment that happened, everyone panicked. Of course, a group of ERTs have been dispatched just as quickly to take charge of the situation until the other officials get there. Of course, something of this caliber certainly needed the other officials as they can better contain it. However, the group was split into three - guide the crowds away and tend to the injured; contain the fire as much as possible until the firefighters would get there; and the last would be the ones who would go inside to get everyone out.

"Travis! Take this!" The blonde haired male turned to one of his teammates who quickly threw him a wet towel. He nodded thankfully at his teammate before they both dove inside the fiery building.

Sweat began to trickle down his... well, everywhere, but that wasn't the biggest problem right now. He had his eyes on the people inside who were huddled in one corner, away from the fire but also further away from the exit. Travis knew that Weylin could actually be useful right now to clear the debris, but the fire that engulfed the Pokemon Center would be enough to tire him out rather quickly so he'd use the Ivysaur sparingly.

He got to the first batch of people and quickly crouched down. "Keep your head down, use wet towel and... pray." He told the group before gesturing them to take out any clothing and poured water on them from his water bottle. They then placed it over their face, covering both noses and mouths before looking back to him. He then gestured for the children to go after him first before the adults, because they were the priority. He then began to move rather quickly and the children were mostly supported by the adults there. He stopped and prevented anyone else from moving when a beam fell in front of them, much to the horror of those with him. "Don't worry, keep on going."

Safe to say, they got out with minimal injuries though smoke inhalation might have been a problem. He quickly sent them to the EMTs who had successfully evacuated the ones outside to a safer place. He gestured for when they police were getting there and then they signed back that it would take three more minutes because of another attack at another area. They were stretching the numbers thin huh? Something was going on, but he couldn't think about that now. There were more people inside.

He turned and charged back.

“The biggest emergencies always seemed to happen on my day off don’t they, Samantha,”

Jamie’s Pokémon gave a small Twitter in response. He was more taking to himself than to Samantha, as he had no idea if she could actually understand he everyday conversation or not. Jamie quickly slipped into his police uniform and Kevlar vest befor rushing to his car, calling Floette into her pokeball before starting the vehicle and turning the radio on to the news.

“-ot sure if there are any casualties yet, Tom, but the fire is large, and there were a lot of people and Pokémon in the building at the time as witnesses claim. At the moment, police officers are attempting to keep the flames down until the fire department arrives and rescue any survivors before the flames become too much to han-“

Jamie turned off the radio as he pulled up to the scene. Flames had engulfed the entire left side of the building, and had begun to advance to the right. The police were attempting to contain the concerned family and friends of those who inside, as well as the owners of the hundreds of Pokémon trapped within the flames. The crowds were beginning to punch past the officers as Jamie called out his leavanny. The inspection creature surveyed the area before looking up to its trainer expectantly.

“Okay Leavanny,” Jamie began, “Use string shot to make barriers in front of the people, but don’t hit any of them got it?” As she began to shoot sticky webs from her mouth, Jamie turned to his first partner, who he had just let out. “Start preparing to use rain dance, and try to have it ready by the time I’m back.”

Samantha began meditating while holding her flower high above her head as Jamie began to jog towards Leavanny. She had constructed several sticky barriers tethered between trees, cars, and buildings, effectively walling the chaotic scene off. Jamie began jogging to were firefighters had dragged the people they had managed to rescue so far. EMTs were tending to them, and Jamie made leavanny make bandages out of medical herbs and string.

“Keep doing what you’re doing, I’ll be back later.” She nodded.

As the young officer returned to where he had left Samantha, she was ready. “Over the right side, where the flames are starting to spread.” She held up her flower and a beam of light erupted out of it Ending in a starburst above where she had been instructed to fire. Suddenly, several small clouds formed where the starburst had fizzled out. It wouldn’t be enough to put the fire out, not by a long shot, but it would stop the fire from spreading, at least for a few minutes.

After the third batch got out, he sighed and then was handed a water bottle. He nodded thankfully at the person and quickly downed the water. Travis ruffled his pale blonde hair and let out a long sigh. He saw one of his companions charge in once more. There were still people inside. Perhaps there were at most sixteen people inside, and they were all at the second floor. He needed to get in back if there were still people inside after the two other responders come back.

"Look, here comes the officers." Someone beside him pointed out, which he soon recognized to be another team. "Finally." He continued exasperatedly as he drank more water from one of the bottles.

"Well, at least they're here." He then paused as he noticed that there was only one of them. "Ah, looks like the others aren't here..." He was thankful for his arrival though. He could see that his Pokemon were doing a great job on helping. While Travis would want to help by using Weylin, he had to keep his Pokemon close to him when he needed to get in once more.

The Rain Dance would be much appreciated. Thanks to the other trainers, they were able to successfully stop the fire for now. He wondered when the firemen would get there. They really needed to get this fire put out. He then saw his two other teammates get out with the rest of the people inside.

They signaled that everyone was out. Now, all they had to do was wait for the firemen to get here. The Pokemon Center was ready to go down any moment now. That's probably because the bomb was planted on a main supporting pillar or something. It had been a miracle that it was still standing up.

"Wait! I need to- ugh, get off me!" He heard a girl's voice scream out and he turned to see that she was being restrained by an officer. "I need to get back in there! Eunice is in there!"

"Please ma'am, it's too dangerous." The officer said, not breaking his grip on the girl so that she would not suddenly burst towards the burning and crumbling building.

Travis quickly made his way towards them, worried when she had mentioned a name. "Someone is still in there?" He said, not believing the fact that they missed at least one person. There might have been one that has perished or something, but surely they would've made a list?

Her eyes twinkled with hope blurred by tears. "My Pokemon, Eunice... I think she fell while we were evacuating and... and..." She then burst into tears once more, her body beginning to limp and the officer had to support her so that she wouldn't fall onto the ground.

"I'll get her ma'am." Travis said, knowing the urgency. While he didn't know the feeling of losing his Pokemon as Weylin was still rather young, he knew that it would devastating for any Pokemon trainer to lose even a single of their Pokemon - especially in situations such as these. "Don't worry."

With a nod, he charged back inside. He knew that the building might even crumble and the fire was still raging inside, but Travis was determined. However, he did know that he might not get to the Pokemon in time. But he hoped.

He spared a single glance at the police officer and nodded at him gratefully for what he did.

With that, he plunged inside. The heat smacked him once more and he coughed almost immediately and then he ducked down. He had to have been searching for a Pokeball. It was a small thing among the many debris inside. He saw a man who had been crushed, dead, under debris. He looked away - he was used to it and there was something he had to first instead of mourning for the dead.

He reached an area that has been blocked off. He peeked inside through the spaces of the burning debris and saw that there was a Pokeball there. He sighed and looked around to see that there was no other entrance there. He closed his eyes and then called out Weylin. The Ivysaur was obviously not happy to be in this heat.

"Hey, Weylin, do me a favor and get me that Pokeball." Travis said before pointing at the Pokeball. The Grass Type looked at his trainer unsurely then back at the Pokeball. Strands of vines began to appear and then shot towards the Pokeball, using the cracks to get through. The fire licked at the vines and the Pokemon cried out but kept on going. Travis's eyes reflected the pain his first Pokemon was feeling.

Weylin finally managed to scoop up the Pokeball and then quickly retreated back so as to not be in the presence of fire anymore. He handed the Pokeball to the trainer and Travis smiled. "Thanks a lot." He said and then recalled the Ivysaur. He then pocketed the Pokeball and then ran out, narrowly avoiding a falling beam which had managed to burn his coat. He quickly discarded it and run towards the exit. What a shame for the coat, but he had a spare one back at home.

He then searched for the woman and then handed her the Pokeball. Her eyes lit up and she quickly embraced the ERT member. "Thank you! Thank you!" She cheered, tears flowing down her face. Travis simply patted her back. She retreated back and then called out her Pokemon - a Bayleaf - and then quickly threw her arms around the Pokemon who cooed in reply.

Travis nodded his head at a job well done and then went back to the pickup which they had used to get here quickly. It was a government vehicle, really, and one of them just kept it just in case they needed to gather really quickly or transport anyone out of the perimeter when there were no ambulances in sight. He could hear the distant sirens.

Ah, so they're finally here huh?
