Just a place to toss some of my characters. Feel free to ask questions about them, or request to see additional references, if I have them.

SOREN CARDEAU

Soren Cardeau || 28 || He/Him || Gay​

Soren is a somewhat troubled young man who lost his parents when he was 12 in a car accident that left him with a substantial amount of scars, nerve damage, and directionless rage to go along with the PTSD. His remaining time in school was largely taken up by getting into countless fights, taking up a drinking and drug habit, and just being generally angry at the world. Lost most of his friends due to being held back a year and the major shift in attitude, but picked a ride-or-die bestie by the name of Skittles, who he absolutely does not deserve.

Started selling drugs in his early 20s, stopped only when his dealer got busted and is presently a line cook at Perkins (family-style diner). Kicked most of his illegal drug habits, but still leaning into alcoholism and fist fights pretty strong.

Fun Facts:
- Dislikes anime in general, and hates yaoi manga
- Incredibly self conscious about his scars--member of the Long Sleeves and Pants All Year Club
- Has sewn up his own injuries with dental floss multiple times because he doesn't have insurance
- Prefers whiskey, tequila, and beer; vodka makes him angrier faster
- Can play piano but horribly out of practice

AUs (most of these thought up with my best friend/Skittles' creator)
- Pokemon AU: Has a Slowpoke with a lazy eye, a prissy Vulpix, and a creepy Ditto
- Twitch AU: Alternate timeline where Skittles helps Soren get sober around 25 by encouraging him to invest in videogames as a coping distraction, then posted a video of him raging at a game that goes viral. Gets a Twitch stream and a fairly substantial following, mostly of people who like to laugh at someone being angry while playing games. Has a ridiculously high patreon tier where people get to pick a game for him to play, most people who reach this make him play cutesy games and JRPGs.

TSYKIS​

Tsykis (pronounced "sae - kiss") is a Netrunner from a cyberpunk'd 2020 Earth, and was raised in a deep-sea research colony off the west coast of the United States, the middle child of 5 and a twin. They were a brilliant child placed in advanced programs all through school, and fiercely protective of their twin brother, but with a tendency to seek out trouble. They took up hacking in their early teens, and at 17 joined an eco-terrorist group in response to the environmental devastation at the hands of major corporations. In the course of a year they were responsible for the destruction of multiple corporate headquarter and power plants, but when the organization was eventually betrayed, responsibility to was pinned on their twin brother, who had joined up as well but was a much less talented programmer. Tsykis altered records to implicate themself instead, and then went on the run, later assuming the "Tsykis" identity as they became a netrunner for hire.

Disillusioned with people in general, Tsykis has leaned into a self-serving lifestyle and began having more and more cybernetics installed. One reason for this, aside from their aesthetic and practical function, is that one's empathy and overall emotional capacity diminishes with new installments. Tsykis has an overall goal to feel less, and reduce their emotional capacity to about 60%, keeping them above becoming a cyber-psycho but reducing their ability to care and be hurt.

Current Cybernetics:
- Eyes: Both are able to shift color; right eye has a video camera; left has infrared cababilites
- Nose: Nasal fits--can activate to filter out gasses/smells
- Hair: Color-changing cybernetics (bangs are real); wiring allows to plug into computers
- Neck: Ports installed for chips and cord usage
- Tattoos: Luminiscent computer-chip designs all over their arms, legs, back, shoulders, chest and sides

Fun Facts:
- Vietnamese-American, speaks both Vietnamese and English fluently
- CyberDeck takes the form of an opera house, using programs based on operas, stage shows, and mythology, and navigable between systems via changing backdrops
- Dramatic, snobby, and dislikes being inconvenienced
- Can't fight for shit, but at least knows how to hold and (badly) shoot a handgun
