Photoshop, Youtube Banners, Oh My!

<span style="font-family:'Goudy Bookletter 1911';">Hi all! So, with getting Photoshop fairly recently once more, I've decided to dabble a little bit into the art of creating Youtube Banners for fun! Now, please keep in mind I've literally just started, meaning I am only beginning my journey of improving and finding new techniques and etc. With that in mind, please please give me feedback! Even if it must be brutally honest, I'm begging you to speak your mind freely! Of course, I would absolutely love constructive criticism or even plain-old comments! Pointers would be lovely as well. Anything, really! Feedback! Comments! Bluntness! I take it all here! Anyways, enough of me ramble. I present to you my first ever Youtube banner template! (With a few alternations of colors, of course).

I can do you better! I'll just go ahead and copy the fonts I used and downloaded and put it in a folder so you can use 'em. :3 Lemme give them to you in a sec!

Hmm, it looks like the file type isn't allowed to be uploaded here, for some reason. I'll just have to give you the names then, sorry! Here they are: earthorbiter, WhiteLarch, and Zag Regular. And thank you! I love Goudy as well, haha.

I'm more of a handwriting girl, so I chose Cookie as my font

Finished the final touches for the Hawaii themed banner. This is my favorite one so far.

I need to learn how to do this! Is there a tutorial?

There are so many tutorials out there on Youtube, actually! Just search "Youtube 2d clean banner tutorial" and click a few videos. Though what I'd say is not to get too wrapped up in the tutorials; get the basic ideas of the format, grow familiar with the tools, but the only way you'll ever learn and grow as a graphics designer is to do it yourself. Mess around! Try different settings of different tools, use images you never thought you'd use! Experiment! That's how I picked up digital arts really. All you need are the tools and the knowledge of what they can do, and whatever knowledge you pick up on the way.


Wow. I just went all sage-y and spewed advice you probably will skim through. My bad. xD Didn't mean for that to happen.
