It was a normal day for 5-years Mimosa, sitting on the backyard’s swing. She stared at cars that drove by, people who walked, the animals who made noises, she admired every little detail in life. The neighborhood was nice, her family were like angels to her, but there was one question.. Is Mimosa the only child?

No, Mimosa happens to have 2 older brothers. One is her older twin Marcos, and the other is the one year older Max. They all lived happily, although Mimosa was almost weekly being annoyed by Max, which didn’t seem very appealing to her.

After years and years of living with the two siblings of hers, Max once again annoyed her. But this time, it was way too serious.

Max didn’t really care about phobia’s, saying they were just “an illusion of horrification hallucinated by your mind” and “overreacting to something that seems scary to you.” And those two lines came out with an unfriendly outcome.

That day, Max was annoying Mimosa after he just came back from getting groceries, then he pulled out a doll.

“M-Max! What are you thinking of!? Get that filthy rat away from me!!” Mimosa yelled, and there surely was a reason of why she did so. Mimosa had Pediophobia, which is the fear of dolls or humanoid inanimate objects.

“Oh come on! It’s just a freaking doll!! What’s so scary about it??” He laughed, disrespecting Mimosa’s fear in a stage of sarcasm.

“You think this is funny!?!?” She ran away to her room, on the verge of shedding tears.

Max followed her all the way to the room, running with the doll in his hands. Max was laughing, meanwhile Mimosa cried.

“GET OUT!!”

“Take the doll first!”

Mimosa walked near the balcony of her room, which was on the second floor. Max was cornering her, and all that running went to the balcony. Mimosa tried pushing Max away from the edge, also saving herself from the doll.

“Just take it!” Max yelled his final words, just before Mimosa accidentally pushed him off the edge.

“M-Max..? M-MAX?”

...

There was no response.

Max didn’t answer.

He’s not there.
