The 2017 BBCode Palette Challenge
It's time for a new and fun event! We know one of the most exciting things to happen when the site returned to xenForo was the return of BBCode. There have been many awesome improvements to the BBCode since then with the introduction of the lovely DIV tag and many other new BBCode tags. To celebrate this, we will be hosting a site event.

There are a few things that need to be covered first. It is highly encouraged you read through everything, otherwise you might find your entry disqualified.

Challenge Rules
Any entries or participants found in violation of the challenge rules will be disqualified. Be sure to read over these very carefully.
  1. All entries must adhere to the site rules.

  2. Entries may use their choice of "filler" text.

  3. No pre-made BBCode design resources may be used.

    • This means that you cannot take a BBCode resource or design created by another member and re-purpose it for this challenge.

  4. Only one entry per member may be submitted.

  5. Alt accounts cannot be used to post multiple entries.

  6. Entries must use one of the selected palettes for this challenge.

  7. Palette colors are not to be mixed-and-matched, meaning you cannot take a color from one palette and use it in combination with another.

  8. Only a maximum of three images may be used within the design.

  9. Placeholder images are permitted but should not be used excessively. They shouldn't be a major part of the design. You can generate placeholder images here.

  10. All designs entered into this contest are going to be free to use site-wide as this is a community event. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to allow other members to use your BBCode design (with credit).

  11. Post all entries to the event board.

Challenge Judges
The judges for this event are Kaerri Kaerri , C.DEX C.DEX , Lyro Lyro , StoneWolf18 StoneWolf18 , @yoongi, and Fable Fable .

Judging Criteria
  • Originality
    • How creative and unique a design is.
  • Legibility
    • How clear the content is; readability.
  • Flexibility
    • How well does it adjust to fit various resolution sizes and themes.
For each of these criteria the judge will give a certain amount of points. These points will then added up, and all points will be averaged per design to give a final total to each design submitted. Based on the final points, the design with the highest average will win the challenge.

Example
CriteriaDesign #1 (Vote 1)Design #1 (Vote 2)
Originality2.5 points3 points
Legibility3.5 points4 points
Flexibility3.5 points1 point
Average: 8.75 points

CriteriaDesign #2 (Vote 1)Design #2 (Vote 2)
Originality2 points5 points
Legbility1 points2.5 points
Flexibility3 points4.5 point
Average: 9 points

This means that in this example, Design #2 would win by 0.25 points.

Member's Choice
While the staff judges will select the overall winner of the challenge, there will also be a "member's choice" winner. This winner will be the participant who is selected by the RpNation community.

A voting thread will be created for votes for member's choice after the deadline for submissions is reached.
