Other Genres?

From the RpNation FAQ:

Where does my roleplay go?
Our Roleplays are categorized by their setting. For example: You roleplay contains elves, but it is set within today’s setting. It should be placed into Modern/Realistic.

Fantasy is a reality that is more fantastic, more whimsical and has the more traditional elements within it that you know you are not grounded in anything that is like our reality and world at its core.

Futuristic is a reality that is far more advance technologically (typically) and possesses characteristics that we would associate with the future of our reality.

Modern / Realistic is a reality that is similar to our own. It might have some minor magic or creatures in it or even zombies trying to eat us, but the technology and the way of life we experience in this game is similar to the reality we all face in our real lives.

Fandom is just what you think it is. If it contains characters or story from a movie, book, tv-show, etc, it belongs to Fandom.
These are not the only genres we have - there are SETTINGS. You may mix and match genres as you will, but you should base the categorization off of what the main setting is.

Oh so I can do fantasy in 1500s ??? Or going to the future and you see zombies and scary stuff?
Is it also allowed to roleplay other genres here? Like Historical, scary and etc.??
I think it would be a matter of opinion. You can change what you wanna do and knowing you can Rp with anyone out there with most anything, the site really isn't limiting.

Historical would definitely go into Realistic / Modern unless there is some sort of Fantasy element (like the Romans now have magic) or Futuristic element (like Aliens visited the Ancient Egyptian) to it.

Scary/Horror it just depends on the setting. As all prefixes like Grin mentioned, are based on Setting not on material. The reason for this is that a scary or horror game can exist in a Fandom game (spooky zombie Dora the Explorer), Fantasy (Zombies created by necromancers), Realistic/Modern (Zombie Survival or Serial Killer Survival), or Futuristic ("Oh god there is an alien on board...")

So when placing your game think about what type of world it is in, what actually occurs in the game isn't necessarily genre dependent.
