(Since I'm not maining Aramis for now unfortunately his posts will be a little shorter)

Corlina woke up in her cell, weather it was morning or night she didn't know. She hadn't seen the light of day for almost five years now. She had been taken to the Bastille when she was 13 and now she was 18, not that she was keeping track. Despite the fact that she spent day after day and night after night in this dreary place where the stone and steel were cold and the guards mean as dirt, she kept up with her prayers; For god to show her the crime that she committed, to free her soon, and for the people and the Queen of France. Once a week she was permitted to see a Priest to confess her sins, and each week it was the same. She confessed her ill thoughts, the few she had, and her ignorance of her crime, and she would listen to the Priest tell her of the bible and God's word, and finally they would pray together. It was the one thing Corlina couldn't do without. When he came she knew it had been a week and when he left she knew she would make it one more.

In her cell Corlina was shackled by her wrists and ankles to the wall and she wore a prisoners grey slip for clothing - although that was another good thing about when the priest came, she was released from her shackles while he was there. By this point her skin was extremely fair, her blonde hair almost platinum from the lack of sunlight, and she was thin, her eye remained as lush green as ever though. She sat up straight and closed her eyes, beginning a morning prayer for that day however paused when she heard the guards begin to switch shifts. "The Priest will be here tonight for her." the other must have shook his head because she heard his armor move but he made no reply. "Have a good day. Get some sleep." Said the first one again and she heard the clanking of the previous guard leaving- she had to strain to hear these due to the fact that the guards stood at the bottom of a long stair case. The only people who saw her were the Priest from a poor church and a blind mute who brought her food.

That was the other odd thing about Corlina's cell - it was all alone. In the very back of the Bastille, where every long corridor of tortured souls met all the others, there was a tall stair case that lead up to Corlina's solitary cell - as if it had been build specifically for her. For no one to see or hear her, for her to never be remembered by anyone, not even the poor guards who saw her day in and day out. However none of this was odd to Corlina - she just assumed her cell was hers for no specific reason. Either way she smiled to herself and looked down at her legs, closing her eyes and resuming her prayers, thanking God that the priest would come today.

~Athos~

Athos awoke as he usually did, his head pounding as he slowly rose from his bed. His feet dropping to the chilly floor, knocking an empty wine bottle over the as he went to stand. Although standing wasn't as easy as it should have been, Athos caught himself on the headboard before he could fall to the ground. With a groan he shock his head trying to clear the hang over that had befallen him. Things had not been the same in the Garrison once his friends had left, he was all that was left and it was hard to face sometimes. But the world continued to turn, and his place remain with the Musketeers, protecting the corrupt Queen that even he despised.

Heading to the wash bowl near the end of the bed, Athos scrubbed his face clean with the cool water feeling a little more awake. He stretched, feeling the popping in his shoulder as he raised his hands above his head and let out a wide yawn. With a heavy sigh he turned to his wardrobe, changing into his breechers and white shirt, followed by his leather jacket and his pauldron. Pulling his boots on and strapping his rapier around his waist, Athos completed his outfit with his blue Musketeer cape and his feathered hat. Looking ever so dashing and menacing Athos made his way out of his apartments, heading toward the Garrison to report for duty.

His day just continued to get worse, as he was assigned to parade duty at the palace, he was to be the Queens guard for the day if not the next few days. Not to mention he had to deal with two new recruits and their newest commission, all three were a bunch of good for nothing half wits who didn't had a brain between the three of them. They had all clearly bought their way into the brotherhood, as they had no real skill. Athos heaved as he hauled himself a top his mount, before trotting out toward the palace.

He had made good time, arriving only forty-five minutes later. His horse taken by a stable boy, Athos head toward the throne room in search of the Queen. "Guard. Where is the Queen at this time of day?" Athos asked, his voice ruff with annoyance and sleep deprivations. His head was still pounding and his stomach was doing somersaults, as the heat of the day began to take hold of him. "J-just through those doors s-sir...Her M-majesty is with her seamstresses and advisers..." The guard was obviously nervous, but Athos cared not. Instead he noded gruffly and walked toward the direction that had been indicated to him. Finding an elegantly decorated entrance way where he could hear the Queen talking. With a final deep breath he opened the door, and bowed graciously, and with the elegance only an expert swordsman could achieve. "Your Majesty, we are reporting for you escort duty." He spoke to the point waiting for her response.

Athos could hardly wait for this day to end, he had promised Aramis that he would meet him at the tavern for a drink with his new apprentice. While he sometimes regretted not joining Aramis when he had left the Musketeers, Athos was also grateful. Because now they had an inside man that was well trusted and valued inside the brotherhood.

Dreams of his troubled past ensured that Alain was up and running needlessly early again; well in time to observe the Queen's morning activities unseen from the sidelines. She'd sneaked out without an escort again but guards or no, the Queen was never unprotected. Even at certain times, like now, when she thought she was. Or perhaps... she was guessing that he might be out there, watching from the shadows? Hoping, even? Somewhere close, as she preferred to have him. Not that Alain minded. Dionette - the Queen - was enjoyable to watch. She rode gracefully, deliberately, looking every bit as alluring in her riding outfit as she did in a pretty dress. Young and beautiful.

This is why when the Queen had called for him he was almost immediately there - having anticipated the summon and keeping himself on standby somewhere close on the same floor. Indeed he was quick to respond, but someone else was quicker; Alain caught only the sight of a musketeer's cape disappearing into the room where the Queen was. Quickening his pace, Alain followed just in time to catch the musketeer from behind as he finished bowing.

"And I as well, my Queen." he stated, moving in to stand beside the musketeer on his right. A brief side glance and he recognized that it was Athos. That done, Alain focused entirely on the Queen and patiently waited to be acknowledged.

Dionette admired herself in her new pearl-laden dress, it was fabulous just like her. She was about to bark a few more orders at the seamstresses when Athos dashed in. She looked at him in the mirror and listened to his introduction, that he was reporting for her escort duty. Her face remained emotionless as she watched him, she nodded curtly,"Thank you Athos." She said and gave him a small 'smile' as the edges of her lips curved up ever so slightly. For one there was the fact that she did not trust him entirely. She did everything she could to make sure those closest to her were loyal beyond their duty to France, but the 'three musketeers!' her father always talked about, who did everything they could for him and France to serve a good king and all of that crap? She just didn't believe they were as happy under her rule, partly because Aramis and Porthos retired seemingly a bit early. She turned around, making the seamstresses at her feet all freeze and try to pick up the other's needles where she had left off, trying to make sure the queen wasn't stabbed or even worse - have an unfinished seam! She was about to remind Athos of her garden party later today, but then she noticed her seamstresses and she was about to tell them to just leave her alone, but then Alain sweeped in the door in the way he always did that made her so happy - fast. All of that happening in a moment.

She gave Alain a big smile, the kind that only he or great gifts on her birthday seemed to be able to evoke from her. "Alain! Just the man I was waiting for." She said happily, her green eyes bright on his own.She looked down at her seamstresses,"You are all dismissed." She said, again curtly to them. They looked up at her a moment, stunned then nodded and all began to get up and scurry out much like chickens to her. She looked back at Alain and did a small turn in her new gown, the skirts fluttering about,"Isn't if fabulous? I'm going to wear it to the garden party later!" She said excitedly. Continuing her smile she waved at Athos and Alain to step in farther. "Please both of you come in, but uhm," She looked at the others with Athos,"You wait outside the door I must speak with these two alone." She said, not very patiently.

She looked at Athos, her smile fading just a bit,"I'm actually very glad to see you Athos, I was hoping to speak with Alain alone and you see I was going to send for Aramis but now that I think about it perhaps you are the man I need." She continued speaking, no longer smiling at all. "As you heard I am going to be having a garden party this afternoon for me and a few of the other nobles, but it brings me to an interesting thought." She said, putting her hands together in front of her, she spoke with her chin raised and in a serious tone, she turned around as if to be examining herself in the mirror once again but secretly looking at Athos' expressions,"You see the rebels have been growing bolder as of late and it is beginning to be a problem. I would like you and Aramis to use your resources available and find out more about this whole 'rebel' thing." She said the word rebel as if it weren't even a thing, as if the peasants were merely playing pretend and it was just starting to annoy her. Her tone grew more serious,"I want to find out who their leaders are and I want them arrested immediately. As far as I am concerned their are traitors both to France and to me." She turned around and looked at Athos again, making brief eye contact with Alain - who knew her feelings of mistrust for Athos and Aramis. But the queen had her reasons.

She gave a somewhat bitter smile,"And of course you both will have full use of any men you may need- even Alain on occasion if you so choose." She added, again wanting to see Athos' expression. She frowned and added one more thing, closing her hands together in front of her,"You and Aramis are the only men for the job though. You served my father so loyaly and thats what I need in this time of devastation for France: true loyalty." She said gently, her expression worried.

She was hoping Alain would be patient enough to speak with her alone after she was finished speaking with Athos - most of the things she wanted to speak with Alain about often required it be just the two of them.

Alain stood there with an expectant look on his face from the start; a look that showed he had something to say, but was not eager to interrupt the Queen until she made it perfectly clear she was done speaking. Playing stoic was one of the roles he seemed naturally talented for. Standing side by side with Athos, the differences between the two were more than evident; Alain was no musketeer. He certainly didn't look the part in his outfit of earthly colors that was a cross between a military uniform and a nobleman's garments but with less details. It had a very atypical hood attached which he more often than not had hiding the upper part of his face, but was currently down and thus revealing all the features of a man in his early thirties; the defined chin and sturdy jaw line, rugged looks with tousled black hair and a petite goatee, finished off with a set of deep green eyes. He wore his short cape over one shoulder, not just a mere accessory but also a defensive aid. Most of his weapons were displayed openly; two pistols set behind the front of his belt and a sabre sword resting in a sheath on his hip. All this was his standard, everyday attire.

Alain returned a meaningful look to Queen Dionette when she mentioned her concern about the rebel traitors and instructed Athos to look into the matter, but his composed posture was momentarily shaken when she added that he was to be on disposal for the musketeers. This made him frown and the shadow of confusion swept across his face. But not for long. When he looked at Athos a few seconds later it was with mild interest. He retained this look as he faced the Queen and said, nodding: "As per your instruction, Your Majesty, should the musketeers find themselves in need of my assistance I will be honored to provide it."

[i'm sorry Fridays and Thursdays are killer for me!!!]

Athos merely ganced toward the other man, whom had come to stand beside him. He knew that Alain was dangerous, and could match him in a duel at anytime. But Athos also knew of his loyalty to the Queen and there was doubting the fact that he would do what he was told if the words dropped from her delicate lips. Athos knew also that as a musketeers there was a certain expectation that he too would be firecly loyal to the monarch. Which Atos tried to live up to, until he had been brought from his stupor and noticed the devastatilkn that had befallen France since her fathers passing. Even now, when he was part of the rebellion did he realize that he would always remain loyal to the crown, he just couldn't remain loyal to Dionette.

Hearing his orders from the Queen Athos' heart fluttered slightly. His nerves reacting out of instinct. Although he his any outward expression with practiced ease, nodding his head as an affirmative that she had been heard. "I will see Aramis' council your Majesty. However O cannot gauruntee his compliance as he is no longer a musketeer and I am therefore no longer his leader." His voice was clear and to the point, making his intention clear that he would not force his old friend to help possibly convicting himself. "Although as you say, the musketeers are, as always your loyal and dedicated servants and I will do my utmost to protect both you and your throne. Leave it to me your majesty." He continued, whole mentalling thinking of a solution that would save the lives of many rebel's. "However I am positive that the musketeers can manage one task such as this. Although I'm sure we could...accomidate Alain if you wished for his input on the matter." Athos' tried to convey that his assistance was not necessary, because Athos knew that if Alain were to look into the rebels anymore than he already did there could be hell to pay. Athos waited for his Queens response, glancing between her and Alain. "Shall I begin now and fetch Aramis your majesty." Athos wasn't sure whether he should go and find his friend or not, but Athos knew he would be back for this garden party, that was for sure.

Seeing the looks between Alain and Dionette, Athos was prepared to leave the rest of the parade duty to the half wits currently in the hall. Besides Athos knew that Alain would be around to protect her. All he need was the nod of her head, dismissing him from his current posting and he would be riding for Aramis as soon as he could find his horse.

Dionette smiled in her own head as Alain complied with offering his services - both of them knowing that Athos wouldn't accept his help. She watched Athos' expression closely but he gave nothing away, much to her displeasure. As of now she didn't trust either of the musketeers in the conversation, and while she didn't know they were apart of the rebellion, she suspected they weren't against it. She pulled a fan from the folds of her skirts and opened it,"Aramis will comply because it is my wish." She said,"If he tells you no, you should tell him to come see me." She said as if that were the end of it. She gave him a gentle smile as he told her again how loyal he was to the throne and to her and that he would protect them both.

She couldn't help but smirk a bit though as he mentioned Alain, the two of them together were too rich! When he asked to leave she nodded,"You may go and speak to Aramis now, this matter is of the utmost importance, however I do want you to assign someone competent to my escort other than the two outside, and I want you back for the garden party. We'll be starting around 4." She turned and looked at the mechanical clock on the wall,"A ride to the country and back by four shouldn't be too hard if you leave now. And I do appreciate it." She said with another gracious smile. She waited until Athos left and gave him some time to be out of earshot of the door before she shut the other two musketeers out once again and looked at Alin, the two of them alone now.

She folded up her fan and walked over, smiling as she stroked his cheek. "I'm sorry Alain, I couldn't resist my little joke with Athos. But I found it quite entertaining." Dionette added. She frowned though as she walked over to the window, watching the servants set up for the garden party later. "But I don't trust that man, nor do I Aramis." She said and turned around and looked at him again,"And that is why whenever we capture a rebel I'd like you to find out who their leader is through your own methods." She added. "Anyways," She stood up on the small pedestal once again,"You have yet to comment on my new dress! Don't you think pearls look fabulous on me?" she asked him, giving him a rare, real smile before she turned around and looked at herself in the mirror again, letting her fingers run over the delicate pearls hand sewn onto her bodice.

(@Wolf Rawrrr @Shalon Whitehall )

Alain looks the Queen up and down with a glint in his eyes, in a manner that would be considered outrageous were he anyone else. As he does so, his lips curve in a playful smirk radiating satisfaction. He wanted to comment on her attire shortly upon entering the room, but deemed it out of place seeing as she had taken the conversation in another direction immediately after. He was only too happy to do so now. "My Queen, the beauty of your dress is surpassed only by your own ravishing brilliance. And as for the pearls: Nothing save the stars themselves would become you more." His usual low, gravelly voice had a silvery quality to it as he spoke, making it flow in a very pleasant way that hinted of a deeper passion.

Pausing for a few moments to see how well the compliment takes, he crossed the room and stood by the window on the same spot where the Queen previously looked out. He cast his own glance outside and across the gardens, reflexively looking for anything out of the ordinary. "So you do not intend to hand me over to the musketeers?" he asked without facing her, eyes still glued to the gardens outside. He sounded more cautious now. "I was worried for a moment. I would not gladly leave you in their care. Your mistrust in them is as well placed as your trust in me, if I may be so bold. They may not be eager to betray you but I doubt many of them approve of your choices in running the country." He gave her a side glance coupled with a brief but reassuring smile. "And as for the rebels... Your words are my command. I will see to it personally."

After that he resumed staring out the window, higher now, above the horizon. Thoughts ran through his mind but never for a moment did they lessen his perception of the Queen in the corner of his eye. How could they? Even had she never looked at him or treated him in a way that conveyed desire, he could not escape his own impossible fantasies. But it was just the opposite - and her actions that once caused him astonishment and confusion now were the object of his greatest wants.

Lafayette was outside practicing his fencing. Despite being under the teaching of Aramis, he had much to learn and Lafayette was more of a traditional Musketeer, more proficient in firearms than his sword. Lafayette did not mind this much but he was aware of his inability to match Aramis' teachings. Lafayette was already sweating as he had woken up before dawn. After practicing for a little bit more, he finally stopped, wiping away the sweat with a towel and went to find Aramis.

Having seen him in the study from the window, he knocked on the door and entered. Lafayette bowed to Aramis respectfully.

"Good morning Master. How can I be of service to you today?" He asked politely.

(btw Shalon I hope its okay if Dionette and Alain moved on, the end of your post said he would leave right away so I figured we could get your character to aramis for the big news! :D )

Aramis

Aramis had been watching Lafayette practice with his rapier for a while that morning from the window in his study, careful not to let him see, which obviously he was not careful enough. However it should be expected that Lafayette was observant, he was after all Aramis' apprentice. Afterwards he took a seat and began going over some papers that were in reference to his estate, sipping the tea his house keeper brought him. He looked up when the door to his study opened and Lafayette walked in. "Morning Lafayette." He said, giving him a bow of his head and a smile. He stood up,"Take a seat, and by all means, no need to be so formal my friend." He said and walked over, patting Lafayette's back as he walked him to a chair and poured him a cup of tea as well. "Especially not today of all days." He said, calm yet in a spectacular mood. He was clearly excited for today but only someone close to him would see it in his eyes. "You've been extremely loyal to me for many years, gave up a promising future in the Queen's Musketeers to remain in my service and by my side, and you've been training so hard and so helpful to me." He said, leaving on the edge of his desk as he spoke. His deep, dark eyes watching Lafayett'es expressions. "You've been helping me with many of my responsibilities when it comes to the rebellion and I know you've been itching to do more."

He moved and walked over to a container next to his desk that held several large maps. He pulled out one canister,"Lafayette, I would like you to attend the next meeting with the rebellion leaders with me. I believe you are ready,"He patted the canister and set it on the desk,"And this," he said looking at the canister with adoration before looking back to Lafayette,"Ohh this!" He held up hsi arms to show how powerful it was,"This is our next step!" He announced with a powerful look of confidence in his eyes.

Athos bowed to the queen, "I shall be off then Your Majesty. I will return by four." walking backwards away from the Queen until a respectable distance when he turned sharply on his heals. Leaving quickly.

Athos would have shouted in rage if he were any other man. But alas he was calm and collect Athos and his expression rarely changed. Instead he beckoned for the two idiotd he had brought with him, "You will remain here. Do not leave the Queen. I will send a messenger to the Garrison to send a more experienced Musketeer, but until they arrive you must remain vigilant." He didn't wait for there reply, Athos had given them a direct order, they would follow it. He walked down the hall, letting his frustrations out with a rough sigh. To the country and back by four? He would have much time with Aramis. Not nearly as much as was needed to find a solution to this problem. Athos walked toward the stables with determine strides, the stable boys scrambled to retrieve his horse. It took to long for Athos' liking but he waited with patience. He was finally on his way, it would take at least an hour to get to Aramis' lodging, and an hour back. There wasn't much time.

The ride was not enjoyable in a full leather uniforme, with the sun beating down on you. Athos was dtrentched from head to toe in sweat, as he dismounted fro. His horse, and walked toward the home in front of him. Rapping at the wood door loudly. "ARAMIS! DAMN IT ARAMIS OPEN THE DOOR!" Clearly no longer in the mood for patience, Athos let his displeasure with Aramis surface. The feeling of abandonment was still present, and he was in no mood to wait.

"That he does." Alain replied to the Queen's last statement and showed a playful smirk of his own. "I wonder why."

Walking with the Queen was basically in his job description, but it was also something that gave him much pleasure. Of course, this was not to be evident on him except when the two were alone. He enjoyed the closeness in moments like these, but at the same time did not allow glee to dull his senses. The two musketeers trailing from behind were the last people in France he'd comfortably rely on.

Her eyes were mesmerizing. The kind you could stare at all day. Dionette was beautiful beyond measure. Complimenting her came naturally. But she was so young, and secretly Alain worried for her. "I consider myself lucky when I see how poor Jean struggles to keep up with you." he said casually as they moved down the hallway.

Aramis

Loraine, Aramis' housekeeper, was cleaning up breakfast when she heard Athos at the door. She moved quickly to the door, opening it,"Good Morning," she greeted him, bowing her head and stepping aside for him,"Master Aramis is upstairs with Lafayette in his study." She said, pointing towards the stairs. She moved and shut the door once he was inside,"I'll be upstairs with some water in just a moment and have someone tie and water your horse Sir." She said and walked away to prepare the things she'd just said. After telling someone to take care of Athos' horse she went to the kitchen and prepared the drink tray.

Aramis looked up from his canister and Lafayette as he heard Athos coming up the stairs. He opened the door,"Athos, my friend, what brings you here so early? I thought we were to meet up later." He said confused as he moved and pulled a chair back for Athos,"Take a seat., you remember Lafayette." He added, worried about why Athos was here so early and why he had rode so hard to get here so fast. Loraine walked in from another small door in the corner of the room and brought in a glass and a pitcher of water, pouring him a glass and setting it on the tray on the table before taking her leave.

Lafayette and Athos had met many times but as it was mentioned earlier, Lafayette had not been attending the city with Aramis so they had only met when Athos came to Aramis' country house.

Athos barged in as soon as the door clicked, barely missing Aramis' house keeper. He could only nod to the older women, "Thank you Madam." he shouted over his shoulder as he took the steps two at a time. Athos thanked his friend with a nod as he entered the study. Eyeing Layfayette he nodded to the younger man, glad that Aramis had someone to trust. But also saddened by the thought of his own protégée who had long since left his company.

Takibg the offered chair Athos took the glass of water Loraine had poured him. "Thank you." he added as she left. "Aramis, we have a problem" Athos said between sips trying to quench his parched throat. Organizing his thoughts Athos shook his head processing what he was about to say.

"The Queen has dispatched me to find the leaders of the rebellion." Athos let it sink in. Waiting for some kind of response. He didnt thunk ge need to mention the ramifications of what he had said. The Queen was not a patient woman, and she would not accept failure. If they didn't find answers soon she would send he modt trusted agent out looking for the leaders. And that would leave him here, to Aramis. Athos had no issue relinquishing control to Aramis. He was always the most passionate of the three, Athos preferred other the behind the scenes work. Still Athos waited, seeing what would come next.

Aramis

Aramis listened to Athos seriously, his hand cupped around his lips as he thought deeply, his forefingers moving and stroking his mustache. He knew exactly why these news would disturb him so much. As Athos finished speaking, Aramis' expression didn't move and he stayed silent for a long, pregnant moment. Finally he took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly through his nostrils, placing both hands on the desk as he stood up once again. Looking down at his desk he remained silent another moment before looking up at Athos, the side of his lips curved up in a small, sly smile as his dark brown eyes hid some mysterious answer. "My friend. There is nothing to worry about." His smiled broadened. "I have a plan you see, and by the time it is over the rebellion won't even HAVE to exist anymore. my next plan will solve all the problem's of France." He said, growing more excited as he spoke. He held up the mysterious canister once again,"And this is it my friend." he said, passing it to Athos, allowing him to see the content of it for himself. If he opened the canister and took out the large map, he would see that it was a map of the Bastille with one solitary room that was at the very back and top of a large tower near where the river exited the prison, was circled.

Aramis just looked at Athos, a broad grin plastered on his face - which must have made him look crazy considering he had told no one of the mysterious prisoner or what the significance of that prisoner was. In fact this was the first time he had ever mentioned the prison to anyone else let alone the prisoner. He became more serious,"This plan will take sometime though and no one can know of it outside of this room, only the three of us. Not the rebel leaders, not the rebels, not our mothers... no one. I tell you two only because I will need accomplices and you two are the people I trust most in the world. Athos you will need to distract the Queen as you 'search' for the rebel leaders. It will be difficult to throw her dog off our scent but we've dealt with nastier foes I believe." He said chewing on the inside of his lip.

Lucius

Lucius was simply leaning against the back wall of the study. He wasn't one for talking a lot on most days. He preferred to listen to everyone else's opinions on this. He found the opinions really interesting as matter of fact. Then he heard the mention of the Bastille. Oh really now? Well this will be certainly interesting. But what does this have to do with anything? He asked himself in his mind.

Then when Lucius heard the mention of trust he stood up and he walked over to the other two and he looked at them. "Well that sounds easy enough." He said softly. His voice was soft, and wise sounding, a voice of a old wise man, a voice that don't match the face for sure.

I finally posted, I hope this would be close to good enough)
