Silentclan Overview

A peaceful clan that tends to get the short end of the stick. They are calm and collective, usually thinking on their actions before doing them. They are the more tactical fighters using stealth and cover techniques to hide themselves. Sometimes their calm nature prevents them from acting when they should and they get looked at as weak.



Origin

Silentclan is said to descend from Panthers. The black stalkers of the night were said to be rather cunning and collected in their actions. It is said that the many black pelts of silentclan cats are due to their connections with the great black panthers. Of course, the black panther is merely a jaguar with a darker coat so the spotted coats are also something seen in this clan.

Traits of A Silentclan Cats

Of course, Silentclan cats are known for their more passive and calm natures. They are not quick to judge and try to consider all edges before jumping in. They prefer to not fight battles and will find other means to work around a clean cut victory. Still, they are stealthy and formidable foes when they see no other option but battle.
​

Their greatest weakness is their low aggression. They sometimes try to be calm when action is needed. They tend to be underestimated, because of their attempts to get out of every battle and so other cats do not always see them as a threat. They like to climb low branches or hide in bushes and scope out their objectives. They have been known to get their paws wet when needed, but swamp water is a little clingy and horrible to wash off.

Training

Silenclan cats teach their clanmates the ability to listen, pace themselves, and always determine the best option. Their combat deals in being the first to attack and to overwhelm their enemy’s senses with confusion. Their stealth is one of the best and their training is something that comes in handy more than the other cats know. Sometimes, Silentclan cats have been known to be great spies and the other clans say that is how they manage to wiggle out of so many dirty situations.

Prey

Silentclan is not above eating some of the less preferred prey. They see all prey as a gift and have developed an acquired taste. Due to cold whether sometimes causing the furrier creatures to leave the cold swampy lands, Silentclan cats know how to adapt and have found they like rough textures.

Silentclan’s Haunts
​

On this particular island, Silentclan cats are sheltered by many trees just like Flareclan except their trees do not usually have low limbs unless you get closer to the swampiest areas and they usually prevent light from peeking out. The main trees that have low limbs are the willows that thrive on the swampy lands. Silentclan’s land is rather soggy and can be discomforting for many cats that are not from there. It is covered in swamps that provide different choices in food that other cats wouldn’t normally consume. Though there isn’t many low hanging limbs or always obvious places to hide, Silentclan cats have their way of knowing every hollowed out tree, bush, and other areas in which to make themselves barely seen if not vanish completely. They like the more openness, yet, covered territory because it prevents their enemies from really functioning as well.

Camp

The camp is considered one of the only dry place on their territory. The leader’s den is located within the crook of a twisted tree in a stone enclosure (1). Across from the Leader’s den is the nursery (3) which appears to be the most cozy den out of them all. It is made with twigs and covered with leaves and grass to add an extra layer of warmth. In the center is a place that cats gather around to share tongues, sharpen their claws, and for young cats to play (6). The log right near it is the fresh kill pile (8). The warrior’s den is also built from twigs and is the largest den of them all (9) while the elder’s den is made from a hollowed log and sits near the warriors den and not far from fresh-kill (7). Above the leader’s den is the High Limb which is used for announcements and ceremonies (2). The entrance is right in between the warrior’s den and fresh-kill pile while in the far back of the camp is the apprentice den (5). Off of the Leader’s den is the medicine cat den that has caverns carved into the stone to keep herbs (4).

Silentclan has large trees the closer you get to the water and the farther out from the main swamp the more thin the trees become. Due to the lack of sunlight and the excessive amount of water, the forest appears foggy most the time and sends chills to anyone that is not from here. Silentclan cats say that it brings them closer to the spirits and the fog brings the sky to earth.

River Swamp

Closer to the Torrentclan crossing is where you will find this odd river like area and the sunniest part of their territory. It is the only area to really get an excessive amount of sunlight, but is still somewhat foggy and at night pretty eerie. Mentors like to take their apprentice here to practice hunting in the shallow waters of the murky swamp river.

Floating Willow

Floating Willow reminds the cats of Moon-Isle which is the sacred area. Due to this, Silentclan cats hold this tree in high regard, but it sits in-between Flareclan and Silentclan territory. Of course, it is more accessible to Silentclan cats, but Flareclan cats have tried to claim it a time or two saying that Silentclan cats don’t belong in such a warm area since their hearts are cold (which is wrong). Silentclan cats usually ignore the Flareclan cats as they aren’t as willing to wade through the murky water like that of a Silentclan cat.

Dapple Light Grounds

Leading away from the swamp and towards the volcanic island is a small part of the forest that becomes noticeably dryer other than the dew that drips of the grass blades. Most of Silentclan is dark, but in every corner of the territory there is light. This area in particular is used to hunt smaller rodents as well as to practice hiding in a place that is more lit.

Restless Spirit Tree

By the largest gathering of water in the territory is a rather dead looking tree that’s roots seem to reach across many places. It is called the Restless Spirit Tree as it is always making odd noises as if calling out and at night seems to glow due to fireflies nesting there. It is dangerous to get too close as silent predators live there like larger snakes.

To Cross into Flareclan territory there is a log that has fallen in between the two clans that provide easy access.
