  It is unknown to others how long they have existed, all that is known is that for every Heartless, every Nobody, there is a Soulless that wanders around as well. Unlike with Heartless and Nobodies in which many of them come in a variety of forms and most of which have the same form as another; there is never one Soulless that looks like another. Each one differs in look due to their appearance taking that of the original host of that specific soul. Many Soulless are harmless due to their original host being simple citizens such as farmers, businessmen/women, children, etc. However, even so, all Soulless show no hesitation in attacking others once they spot anyone. Their physical strength, durability, endurance and agility are heightened dramatically and even if the Soulless does not have any experience in combat, underestimating one can lead to a swift defeat.
  
  Weaker Soulless such as ordinary citizens are unable to speak clearly and will either speak in broken words that all have to do with negative emotions due to memories or they will speak in gurgled gibberish. Stronger Soulless beings such as previous Keyblade wielders or any type of wielder of magic as an example are able to speak normally.
  If a Soulless was once a Keyblade wielder, they are still capable of summoning their old weapon even if it may appear grey in color. They still hold onto their memories and experience of battle and are extremely dangerous to engage in combat with due to their increase in physical traits.
  
  Even with each Soulless differentiating in appearance, it is a simple task to find a Soulless due to their clothing, skin, hair, eyes, and weapon being grey.
  
  Currently, the knowledge of their leader(s) is unknown and the use of ordinary weapons against them is only a temporary defeat against them before they return. While the use of a Keyblade only causes them to return disfigured and twice as dangerous as they originally were. After defeating a Soulless about three times, it appears that it permanently destroys them, however it is unknown what happens to the Soul after that.

  Heartless
  
  
  
  
  The physical manifestation of the darkness that resides in people's hearts. Wielders of the Keyblade have combated against Heartless for what seems like eons and never have they truly been defeated before due to the fact that as long as even one person has darkness in their heart, Heartless will always exist. Heartless come in many forms of both shape and sizes, all of which have different abilities, some being more powerful than others.
  
  Anyone can become a Heartless, it all depends on how much darkness is in one's heart and whether or not they are consumed by it. The stronger the heart is, the more powerful the type of Heartless the person will turn into if they allow themselves to be consumed in darkness.
  All Heartless are completely devoid of any emotion and their only goal is to steal the hearts in other people to attempt and fill the void that is left inside of them. Their end goal is to eventually reach and consume the greatest heart of all; the heart of all worlds, Kingdom Hearts.
  
  It is not impossible to defeat a Heartless, however the guaranteed way to defeat them is to destroy them with a Keyblade which will free the Heart from darkness after it is struck down.

  Nobodies
  
  
  
  A Nobody is what remains after a person's heart is consumed by darkness and they become a Heartless. The empty husk of a body and will of the host will soon begin to move on its own and if their will is not strong enough, their body will morph into creatures that no longer even have the physical representation of a humanoid form any longer. Those that become Nobodies without a humanoid form lose all memories and just like the Heartless are devoid of all emotions.
  
  Those with a strong will are able to achieve a humanoid body when they become a Nobody, however unlike with the Soulless, Nobodies have their entire body look like their original selves except the fact that they have color instead of completely grey. Even if the Nobody was originally an ordinary citizen, if they have a strong will and become a humanoid Nobody, they will end up achieving some sort of power.
  
  Their goal is to gather as many hearts as possible in the belief that if they are able to take over Kingdom Hearts, they can fully 'exist' and regain their hearts in the end.

  A mysterious weapon that has existed for centuries, its origin is still unknown even to masters of the weapon itself. Even throughout history, there have been little information as to how the first Keyblade came to be and only about other masters of the weapon. Little is known about the Keyblades other than they can be used to battle the forces of light, darkness and everything in between. It is also a weapon that allows its wielder to travel between realms and worlds.
  
  While not exactly stated openly, Keyblades have a will of their own and will choose who is worthy to wield them. Once a Keyblade has chosen its wielder, it cannot be separated from the user unless it is broken, or the weapon finds the user unworthy at some point. They come in a variety of different shapes and each one coming with a special ability attached to that specific Keyblade.

  For ages, this place was built to train many of those who were willing to fight against the forces of darkness such as the Heartless and Nobodies by teaching them the history and instructing them how to battle against specific types of enemies due to them not being able to wield a Keyblade. All of these people were from different worlds and each one of them had either befriended or had known a person who was already a Keyblade wielder, allowing them to gain access to this place.
  
  After the invasion of the Soulless however and those who were unable to use Keyblades were being slaughtered by the dozens and the masters being forced to call out for help among the many other worlds, allowing those who were originally ordinary citizens to become worthy wielders of Keyblades. Summoning them to this place, they were given chances to become warriors of light and would be taught how to battle against the forces of darkness if they should accept.
  
  Those that accepted have spent up to five years training to learn how to summon, wield, and fight with their Keyblades. Eventually learning magic, and other skills to fine tune their abilities and find out what their specialty is. During their training, they will be sent out among many different worlds at times with veteran Keyblade wielders or by themselves as tests sometimes. By graduation, these individuals are given the title as Warriors of light and allow to travel across many worlds at their own freedom.
